The Journal of Plant Biology, an official publication of the Korean Society of Plant Biologists, is an international journal devoted to basic researches in biochemistry, cellular biology, development, ecology, genetics, molecular biology, physiology, and systematics of plants.The Journal publishes original articles, reviews and brief communications detailing significant research contributions to plant science.Celebrating its 50th year of publication in 2007, the Journal of Plant Biology first appeared in 1958, and was published until 1994 under the title Korean Journal of Botany.
  

Updates in Surgery, the official journal of the Italian Society of Surgery, is an international, English-language, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the surgical sciences. Four issues are published each year. The Editorial Board considers various types of papers pertaining to surgery-related topics, such as original clinical studies, reports on surgical procedures and new bio-technologies, and comprehensive reviews on timely surgical issues. Case reports are considered only if they provide original facts, particularly concerning the diagnostic process or surgical treatment.

Papers whose concern is primarily with mathematical or computational techniques, developed within a general framework and not aimed at any specific engineering application, are not requested. Similarly, papers whose content is purely descriptive or empirical and which do not make any scientific contribution, will not be considered. Comparison with experiments/tests conducted by the authors or others to validate the main contribution of the paper are strongly encouraged, however design-based studies, based on established formulae and methods, are outside our scope and should not be submitted to the International Journal of Mechanical Sciences.Only original, innovative and novel papers will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Mechanical Sciences and before considering their work, authors are required to confirm that their paper has not been submitted to any other journal in English or any other language. Occasionally, 'Letters to the Editor' are considered.

African Security is a new journal dedicated to the exploration of fresh approaches to understanding Africa,s conflicts and security concerns. Publishing three issues per annum, African Security investigates competing analytical approaches to understanding security while engaging in discussions of real world security issues in Africa. In particular, the journal seeks to investigate the myriad issues relating to conflict and security within and between African nations, not only from the more traditional approaches to security studies but also from more novel and innovative perspectives.The issues that define African security are hardly unique; they may, nonetheless, be more pronounced there than anywhere else. In order to truly understand conflict in Africa, existing paradigms in national and international security must be challenged. African security cannot be understood by applying only traditional theories and approaches to the study of international security, and to this end African Security seeks to push the envelope of traditional security studies, but in a way very much grounded in the extant security issues facing Africa.
