Anthropocene publishes peer-reviewed works addressing the nature, scale, and extent of the influence that people have on Earth. The scope of the journal includes the effects of human activities on landscapes, oceans, the atmosphere, cryosphere, and ecosystems over a range of time and space scales - from global phenomena over geologic eras to single isolated events - including changes to the exchanges, linkages, and feedbacks among the systems.Articles could address how the human influence on Earth may produce a distinct geological record, and how these signals may compare with the great perturbations in Earth's history. Theoretical and empirical contributions linking societal responses to human-induced landscape change are also welcomed. As humans have emerged as a dominant agent of change on Earth's system, the journal serves to focus research findings, discussions, and debates to account explicitly for human interactions with Earth's systems. Applied Mobilities publishes theoretically informed, applied research and practice-orientated perspectives in mobilities. It focuses on the planning, design, technologies and social and cultural applications of mobilities. Through an emphasis on social theory and planning practice it also seeks to develop a greater understanding of the transition of mobility systems towards sustainable practices and the consequences of diverse mobilities on societies. 

It publishes original research articles, practice based commentaries and reviews.

The Journal of Coastal Conservation is a scientific journal for the dissemination of both theoretical and applied research on integrated and sustainable management of the terrestrial, coastal and marine environmental interface. A thorough understanding of both the physical and the human sciences is important to the study of the spatial patterns and processes observed in terrestrial, coastal and marine systems set in the context of past, present and future social and economic developments. This includes multidisciplinary and integrated knowledge and understanding of: physical geography, coastal geomorphology, sediment dynamics, hydrodynamics, soil science, hydrology, plant and animal ecology, vegetation science, biogeography, landscape ecology, recreation and tourism studies, urban and human ecology, coastal engineering and spatial planning, coastal zone management, and marine resource management. Environmental applications that make use of spatial information technology (IT) to collect, analyse, interpret, visualise, and communicate the results of scientific research are also encouraged. This includes the use of remote sensing, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), environmental databases, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and mobile technologies, cartography and digital mapping, geovisualisation, modelling and simulation, and the Internet. Re-Readings are usually of 4000-7000 words in length. The editor welcomes submissions of re-readings. Book Reviews Philosophical Papers publishes reviews of books that are of special relevance to African or South African philosophy or philosophers. Authors interested in reviewing books for the journal should approach the editor in the first instance. Peer Review Policy All submitted articles undergo a process of peer review. This is based on initial editor screening and refereeing by (usually) two referees.

The Proceedings of the Geologists' Association is an international geoscience journal that was founded in 1859 and publishes research and review papers on all aspects of Earth Science. In particular, papers will focus on the geology of northwestern Europe and the Mediterranean, including both the onshore and offshore record. Following a long tradition, the PGA will focus on: i) a range of article types (see below) on topics of wide relevance to Earth Sciences ii) papers on aspects of Earth Science that have societal relevance including geoconservation and Earth management, iii) papers on palaeoenvironments and palaeontology of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic, iv) papers on aspects of Quaternary geology and climate change, and v) papers on the history of geology with particular reference to individuals that have shaped the subject. These topics will also steer the content of the themes of the Special Issues that are published in the PGA.Papers published in the PGA will take the form of Research papers and Review papers. In addition it will publish Viewpoints, which are aimed to provide authoritative views from Earth Scientists on topics of debate within our subject, Topical or Teaching Perspectives on subjects of current, or potentially future importance and are not necessarily research papers but are written in a manner that makes them particularly accessible to the general public and students, and Contexts, which are short papers giving the wider scientific context of a paper that is published in the same issue. Submissions of all these types of papers, within the scope and aims of the journal, are welcome. Schizophrenia Bulletin seeks to review recent developments and empirically based hypotheses regarding the etiology and treatment of schizophrenia. We view the field as broad and deep, and will publish new knowledge ranging from the molecular basis to social and cultural factors. We will give new emphasis to translational reports which simultaneously highlight basic neurobiological mechanisms and clinical manifestations. Much of the Bulletin content will be invited reviews and manuscripts organized as a theme by special guest editors. Also, the Bulletin will carry unsolicited manuscripts of high quality that report original data related to theme issues or where the Bulletin can provide a special venue for a major study.The editorial policy of the Schizophrenia Bulletin generally follows the Uniform Requirements guidelines articulated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (http://www.icmje.org). The journal is published bi-monthly serving readership and contributors from the USA and internationally. Each issue of the Bulletin will be based on a major review and/or one or more themes comprised of 2-5 Reviews Articles covering clinical and basic scientific aspects of the theme area of the issue. Topics for future issues will be announced ahead of time and Original Reports related to the themes will be accepted for review. Some theme issues will be based on workshops and meeting symposia.We consider the Bulletin to be an ideal venue for special reports such as treatment guidelines or the presentation of translational science. The Bulletin will publish the proceedings and abstracts of the International Congress on Schizophrenia Research. The Bulletin will publish first person accounts, At Issue articles expressing opposing views on controversial scientific issues, succinct discourses on clinical and basic neuroscience concepts, and brief essays on the role of specific environmental and genetic factors in schizophrenia. The Schizophrenia Bulletin will continue the tradition of the front cover display of art from artists with mental illness.

However, given the wide availability of industrial simulators (Atlas, MEDICI etc), device simulation papers should be coupled with experiment or novel analytical approaches. Also, materials growth and characterization papers should be relevant to a current or future device technology.
