Anthropocene publishes peer-reviewed works addressing the nature, scale, and extent of the influence that people have on Earth. The scope of the journal includes the effects of human activities on landscapes, oceans, the atmosphere, cryosphere, and ecosystems over a range of time and space scales - from global phenomena over geologic eras to single isolated events - including changes to the exchanges, linkages, and feedbacks among the systems.Articles could address how the human influence on Earth may produce a distinct geological record, and how these signals may compare with the great perturbations in Earth's history. Theoretical and empirical contributions linking societal responses to human-induced landscape change are also welcomed. As humans have emerged as a dominant agent of change on Earth's system, the journal serves to focus research findings, discussions, and debates to account explicitly for human interactions with Earth's systems. The aim is to provide a venue toward meeting one of the grand challenges of our time.Anthropocene welcomes the following types of manuscripts:- Original research articles that meet the Aims and Scope of the journal, with typical length of text in the 5000-7000 word range. Research articles may include specific case studies if these studies demonstrate theoretical significance and broad systemic relevance.- Review papers and Prospects that assess the state of knowledge of a particular subfield or topic, that point toward future research needs and directions. These review articles, with a typical length within 8000 words, may include some new data or synthesis of existing data that produce new understanding.- Short communications include commentaries and viewpoints on specific issues, discussions and replies of articles published in the journal, and shorter papers addressing timely topics that are reviewed and published rapidly. EMJ is designed to provide practical, pertinent knowledge on the management of technology, technical professionals, and technical organizations. EMJ strives to provide value to the practice of engineering management and engineering managers. EMJ is an archival journal that facilitates both practitioners and university faculty in publishing useful articles. The Journal of Algebra is a leading international journal and publishes papers that demonstrate high quality research results in algebra and related computational aspects. The journal also seeks work that presents innovative techniques that offer promising results for future research.The Computational Algebra SectionThe Computational Algebra section has been introduced to provide an appropriate forum for contributions which make use of computer calculations and to broaden the scope of the Journal.The following papers are particularly welcome in the Computational Algebra section of the Journal of Algebra:• Results obtained by computer calculations - to be suitable for publication such results must represent a major advance of mathematics. It is not sufficient to extend previous computations by means of higher computer power. Rather the contribution has to exhibit new methods and mathematical results to be accepted.• Classifications of specific algebraic structures (in form of tables, if appropriate), which are not easily obtained and are useful to the algebraic community.• Description and outcome of experiments, to put forward new conjectures, to support existing conjectures, or to give counter examples to existing conjectures.• Papers emphasizing the constructive aspect of algebra, such as description and analysis of new algorithms (not program listings, nor, in the first instance, discussions of software development issues), improvements and extensions of existing algorithms, description of computational methods which are not algorithms in the strict sense (since, e.g., they need not terminate).• Interactions between algebra and computer science, such as automatic structures, word problems and other decision problems in groups and semigroups, preferably, but not necessarily, with an emphasis on practicality, implementations, and performance of the related algorithms.• Contributions are welcome from all areas of algebra, including algebraic geometry or algebraic number theory, if the emphasis is on the algebraic aspects.Contributions describing applications of algebraic results or methods, for example in coding theory, cryptography, or the algebraic theory of differential equations are highly welcome. An important general criterion for the publication of a paper in the Computational Algebra section is its emphasis on the constructive aspects.

The Proceedings of the Geologists' Association is an international geoscience journal that was founded in 1859 and publishes research and review papers on all aspects of Earth Science. In particular, papers will focus on the geology of northwestern Europe and the Mediterranean, including both the onshore and offshore record. Following a long tradition, the PGA will focus on: i) a range of article types (see below) on topics of wide relevance to Earth Sciences ii) papers on aspects of Earth Science that have societal relevance including geoconservation and Earth management, iii) papers on palaeoenvironments and palaeontology of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic, iv) papers on aspects of Quaternary geology and climate change, and v) papers on the history of geology with particular reference to individuals that have shaped the subject. These topics will also steer the content of the themes of the Special Issues that are published in the PGA.Papers published in the PGA will take the form of Research papers and Review papers. ACS Energy Letters is a monthly peer-reviewed journal that publishes new scientific advances in all aspects of energy research that are of interest to scientists working in the fundamental, and applied sciences. A central criterion to acceptance is that the paper reports sufficiently new results such that rapid publication is essential.

A journal of nuclear and radiation techniques and their applications in the physical, chemical, biological, medical, earth, planetary, environmental, security and engineering science. Applied Radiation and Isotopes provides a high quality medium for the publication of substantial, original and scientific and technological papers on the development and applications of nuclear, radiation and radionuclide techniques in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, medicine, security, engineering and in the earth, planetary and environmental sciences. Nuclear techniques are defined in the broadest sense and both experimental and theoretical papers are welcome. They include the development and use of a- and ß-particles, X-rays and ?-rays, neutrons and other nuclear particles and radiations from all sources, including radionuclides, synchrotron sources, cyclotrons and reactors and from the natural environment. Nuclear magnetic resonance and electron spin resonance are important technologies within the scope of Applied Radiation and Isotopes. The journal aims to publish papers with significance to an international audience, containing substantial novelty and scientific impact. The Editors reserve the rights to reject, with or without external review, papers that do not meet these criteria. Papers dealing with radiation processing, or the biological, chemical or physical effects of radiation are not appropriate for publication in Applied Radiation and Isotopes. Manuscripts dealing with radiation processing, or the chemical or physical effects of radiation should be directed to our sister journal Radiation Physics and Chemistry. Manuscripts describing the results of measurements of radioactive or other substances in any medium that have been obtained using well-established analytical methods will not be accepted unless they also describe substantial innovations or improvements in the analytical methodology.

Bioengineered is a multi-disciplinary, peer reviewed journal dedicated to highlighting the most recent and significant advances in the development of genetically modified organisms for food, pharmaceutical, medical, industrial, environmental and bio-defense applications. With a strong focus on fundamental science, the journal strives to serve a broader readership by regularly publishing articles on regulatory, legal, and political issues related to all aspects of bioengineering and biotechnology.

Bioengineered publishes relevant and timely original research, authoritative overviews, protocols, as well as article addenda and commentaries; providing context for original work presented in Bioengineered and key results published elsewhere. Original research papers may cover any aspect of genetic engineering/biotechnology which involves the generation of recombinant strains (both prokaryote and eukaryote) for beneficial applications in food, medicine, industry, environment and bio-defense.

Early Popular Visual Culture (EPVC) is a peer-reviewed, academic journal dedicated to stimulating research and interdisciplinary studies in relation to all forms of popular visual culture before 1930. EPVC examines the use and exploitation of popular cultural forms such as (but not limited to) cinema, photography, magic lanterns and music hall within the fields of entertainment, education, science, advertising and the domestic environment, and is primarily concerned with the evolving social, technological and economic contexts which such popular cultural products inhabited and defined. The journal contains a range of historical and theoretical readings of early popular visual culture, as well as offering selected facsimile materials of obscure and rare sources, reviews and research reports. There are also regular special thematic issues. The journal will be supported by the Visual Delights conference series and regular study-days. The European Research Area has now become a reality. The prime objective of the EJECE is to fully document advances in European scientific and technical research in the fields of sustainable construction and environmental engineering. In particular regard to the latter, the environmental preservation of natural media (soils and rocks) and the mitigation of soil pollutions, natural and technological risks are now not only major societal challenges, but they are also the source of scientific and technical developments that could be extremely beneficial.Areas covered by the EJECE include rheology of geomaterials (cement, soils, rocks), natural media (muds, snow, ice, etc.) and granular materials, soil-fluid-structure interactions and their coupling with temperature, chemistry (degradation, etc.) and time (durability, ageing, etc.), computation and design of structures and engineering works. The new experimental facilities and measurement tools (metrology and sensors in laboratories and in the field, etc.) and the characterizing of displacement fields and of micro-meso-structures of materials (scanner, tomodensitometer, etc.) give rise to major innovations which concern thus primarily the EJECE . Finally the numerical methods (finite differences, finite elements, discrete elements, particulate methods, etc), which constitute obviously the bases of the modelling and of the computation of structures and engineering works, fall completely in the interest area of the Journal.Furthermore, as issues related to the environment are obviously of a pluridisciplinary nature, contributions based on probability, reliability studies or statistics, geology or geophysics, thermodynamics, physics of divided matter or chemistry of materials are welcome.The Journal has a wide audience that extends from public and private researchers to engineers in research departments or companies, and aspects linked to applications or to normalisation will also be published.
