Acta Ecologica Sinica - International Journal  is a monthly journal authorized by the China Association for Science and Technology, undertaken by the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, CAS and sponsored by the Ecological Society of China.

Acta Ecologica Sinica - International Journal  publishes recent theories and novel experimental results in ecology, and facilitates academic exchange and discussions both domestically and abroad. The Journal promotes the development of and foster research talents for ecological studies in China, so as to contribute to the knowledge innovation, sustainable development and the revitalization of the nation through science and education.

Position of the journal
Acta Ecologica Sinica is the only comprehensive journal in China devoted to ecology and its sub-disciplines. It relies on and unites ecological scientists in China with the aim of publishing papers on innovative experimental work. Published papers should bear the characteristics of combined ecological research frontiers and clear national benefits, unveiling mechanisms of the interactions between life and environment, and promoting the development of ecological science in China. The journal represents the standards of ecological research in China and is one of the highest impact journals.

Domestic impact
According to "China Science and Technology Journals Citation Report", the impact factor of Acta Ecologica Sinica is 1.414, ranking number 31 among all the academic journals in China; total citations are 3614, ranking 5 among all the academic journals in China. In the last five years, Acta Ecologica Sinica has been one of the top journals in the category of biological science in terms of total citation and impact factor, and was awarded as one of the "Hundred outstanding Journals".

Acta Ecologica Sinica has been awarded several times including the first-class award from the http://english.cas.cn/Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2000, the second-class award from http://english.cast.org.cn/ Chinese Association of Sci. & Tech. in 2002, the second-class award of National Journal Award, and was listed among the 100 key journals in China at the second national journal show.

International perspective

Journal coverage
This journal publishes papers on animal ecology, plant ecology, microbial ecology, agro-ecology, forestry ecology, grassland ecology, soil ecology, ocean and aquatic ecosystems, landscape ecology, chemical ecology, contaminant ecology, urban and human ecology. We particularly welcome reviews on recent developments in ecology, novel experimental studies and short communications on innovative research, new theories, methodologies, new techniques, book reviews, and research news and laboratory introductions.

The Journal of Web Semantics is an interdisciplinary journal based on research and applications of various subject areas that contribute to the development of a knowledge-intensive and intelligent service Web. These areas include: knowledge technologies, ontology, agents, databases and the semantic grid, obviously disciplines like information retrieval, language technology, human-computer interaction and knowledge discovery are of major relevance as well. The Journal of International Food & Agribusiness Marketing is a timely journal that serves as a forum for the exchange and dissemination of food and agribusiness marketing knowledge and experiences on an international scale. Designed to study the characteristics and workings of food and agribusiness marketing systems around the world, the journal critically examines marketing issues in the total food business chain prevailing in different parts of the globe by using a systems and cross-cultural/national approach to explain the many facets of food marketing in a range of socioeconomic and political systems. Journal of Natural Resources Policy Research publishes original policy-oriented papers addressing a broad range of natural resource fields including water, minerals, energy, fisheries, and forestry in a synthesizing fashion, rather than as stand-alone specialty areas. It will also publish papers on the natural resource implications of climate change, natural disasters, and biodiversity loss, among others. The papers, ideally, will be based on both conceptual and empirical studies and will be primarily policy-focused. Our goal is to foster productive dialog among the disparate sectors in the broad field of natural resources and among various social science perspectives leading to an improved understanding of institutional and economic dynamics and informed policy making.This is a largely social-sciences-focused journal including such fields as economics, sociology, geography, political science, anthropology, public administration, ethics and other disciplines relevant to the crafting of efficient, equitable and sustainable natural resources policies. This journal is designed to reflect current developments and advances being made in the general field of cement-concrete composites technology and in the production, use, and performance of cement-basedconstruction materials. The word cement is interpreted in a wide sense, including not only Portland cement but also blended cements and other binding materials. In addition to novel aspects of conventional concrete materials, the journal covers a wide range of composite materials such as fiber-reinforced cement composites, polymer cement composites, polymer impregnated composites, ferrocement, and cement composites containing special aggregate inclusions or waste materials. Original papers dealing with microstructure (as it relates to engineering properties), material properties, testing and test methods, fracture mechanics, durability aspects, composite mechanics/technology, modelling, design, fabrication and practical applications of these materials form the major themes of the journal. Provided there is sufficient linkage to properties defined at the material scale, papers concerning the behavior of structural components and systems, in situ performance, and field studies will also be accepted for review, as well as those concerning the repair and maintenance, serviceability behavior, and sustainability of structures made with these materials.The journal has within the above context several specific objectives. It wants to foster a better understanding of construction materials, provide a forum for unusual and unconventional materials, encourage the development of low cost energy saving materials and bridge the gap between materials science, engineering performance, environmental effects, in situ behavior, design/service life and construction. • Indian Journal of Agronomy welcomes concise articles presenting original research data based on field experiments on all aspects of agronomy in different crops and related cropping systems.• The journal publishes only full length comprehensive articles based on new approaches/findings in English only.• Review articles are also considered but these are normally solicited by Editorial Board. However, the authors who wish to contribute a review on their own based on their standing in the relevant field may contact the Secretary or Chief Editor with a broad outline before submitting the manuscript.• The articles submitted for publication in the journal should contain data not older than 5 years on the date of receipt of article in the Society office. The Journal “Intelligent Service Robotics” fosters the dissemination of new discoveries and novel technologies that advance the application of robotics for assisting humans on a yet richer dimension. The Journal will cover a broad spectrum of topics ranging from intelligent robots acting as an everyday servant, secretary, or companion to the intelligent robotic functions in the form of embedded robotics, ambient intelligence, or intelligent space. The European Control Association (EUCA) has among its objectives to promote the development of the discipline. Apart from the European Control Conferences, the European Journal of Control is the Association's main channel for the dissemination of important contributions in the field.The aim of the Journal is to publish high quality papers on the theory and practice of control and systems engineering.The scope of the Journal will be wide and cover all aspects of the discipline including methodologies, techniques and applications.Research in control and systems engineering is necessary to develop new concepts and tools which enhance our understanding and improve our ability to design and implement high performance control systems. Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology publishes advances in translational and interdisciplinary research on psychopharmacology and drug abuse. The scope of research in these areas continues to expand and to benefit from collaborations across a broad range of disciplines, including behavioral science, brain imaging, genetics, neuroendocrinology, neuroscience, and pharmacology.One goal of the journal is to encourage increased attention to biologic factors that may influence both the pharmacodynamic and the pharmacokinetic effects of drugs. Recent research has shown the importance of examining the effects of sex and menstrual/estrous cycle phase on the effects of abused drugs, as well as responses to medications for the treatment of drug abuse and the alleviation of pain.The journal publishes original reports on the development and evaluation of new pharmacotherapies, the influence of genetics and hormones on responses to abused drugs and treatment medications, the pharmacological management of pain, and brain imaging studies of the neural correlates of drug effects.The journal will focus on clinical laboratory studies and controlled clinical medication trials as well as basic preclinical experiments on psychopharmacology and drug abuse.The journal also will include comprehensive and integrative reviews of advances in research on psychopharmacology. These reviews should provide a broad perspective on a particular area of research or trace the development of critical concepts and experimental approaches.Each year, the journal will recognize young investigators who are recipients of the Young Psychopharmacologist Award or the Best Dissertation Award, as well as midcareer and senior scientists who receive the Brady–Schuster Award from APA Division 28, Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse. Awardees will be invited to submit a review paper based on their award-winning research.The journal may occasionally publish innovations in psychopharmacology that report a novel method, measure, or result. Commentary on the nature and implications of the innovation may be invited.The overall goal is to provide a forum for innovative clinical and preclinical research that advances our understanding of the behavioral and biological determinants of the effects of drugs.

In recent years there has been a growth of specialist journals within geological sciences. Nevertheless, there is an important role for a journal of an interdisciplinary kind. Traditionally, GEOLOGICAL JOURNAL has been such a journal and continues in its aim of promoting interest in all branches of the Geological Sciences, through publication of original research papers and review articles. The Journal of Sustainable Forestry provides a linkage of silviculture and the underlying biology: tree physiology, morphology, and genetics. As such, it elucidates the scientific principles and techniques of controlling, protecting, and restoring the regeneration, composition, and growth of natural forest vegetation as well as plantations, agroforestry, and silvo-pastoral systems. The scope of the Journal of Sustainable Forestry is broad. It encompasses topics from biotechnology, physiology, silviculture, wood science, economics, and forest management. New research pertaining to enhancing the sustainability of forests is considered and encouraged, including papers at the molecular, cellular, whole tree, and forest level. Research results dealing with above- and below-ground perspectives are also published in the journal. The journal focuses not only on the sustainability of forests as providers of fuel and lumber, but integrative aspects of agroforestry and sustainable agriculture insofar as forest crops are concerned. Issues that are addressed include: sustainable forestry in the less-developed countries effects of gaseous pollutants and acid rain on tree production and growth water use efficiency increased resistance to low and high temperature stress strategies for forest adaptation to global climate change the role of organic biostimulants in sustainable forestry and agricultureWhile there are journals that deal individually with these various disciplines, the Journal of Sustainable Forestry brings them together and puts them in one forum. The articles focus on new and integrative approaches to the topic and emphasize diversity, creativity, and innovation. Submissions may come from diverse viewpoints including but not limited to: genetic, epidemiological, neurobiological, and psychopathological research; cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, and other psychotherapeutic investigations; parent-child, interpersonal, and family research; and, clinical and empirical research in inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison, and school-based settings. • What is the effect of the worldwide growth of a language on the writing system, and the distance between speech and writing?

• What is the role of language planning:
  (i) systemic: reform of script, regulation of grammar or vocabulary;
  (ii) institutional: language education policy?
• What are typical speakers' (users') attitudes to the phenomenon:
  (i) L1 (i.e., native speakers of a world language);
  (ii) L2 (i.e., non-native speakers of a world language)?
• What variation is associated with growth towards "world language" status:
  (i) Dialectal, i.e., user-based variation?
  (ii) Diatypic, i.e., use-based variation (such as register)?
• What are the implications of the "world language" phenomenon for a general linguistic theory? 

The  Journal of World Languages is a cross-disciplinary journal whose coverage of the effects of globalization on languages extends coverage to all world languages.
