The recent pace of change within the subject of employment relations has been significant. New forms of management, new methods of pay determination and government policies have led to a move away from the traditional focus of collective bargaining and trade unions and have broadened the scope of the subject. The British Journal of Industrial Relations has acknowledged these changes. It aims to provide content that reflects the growth and development of the subject, so that it can be at the centre of the controversies surrounding work and employment relations in the 21st Century. Its four main objectives are to:

Genetics and Molecular Research (GMR) is a peer-reviewed, all-electronic journal available at no charge to readers via the Internet on the FUNPEC-RP (Ribeirão Preto Foundation for Research) website (www.funpecrp.com.br). The overall aim of GMR is to publish original, outstanding research papers in the areas of Genetics, Molecular Biology and Evolution.GMR has been launched to agilize the process of publication and to make these publications readily available to the scientific community. The editorial staff at GMR maintains the same structure and procedures as the print journals that it has worked with previously, but with reduced costs due to the elimination of printing and mailing. Further, the lead time to publication is considerably reduced. After extensive consultation with scientists, financing institutions and indexing agencies we decided that there was a need for a high-quality electronic journal accessible at no charge to anyone, anywhere, at anytime. .

The Bulletin of the American Society of Papyrologists has been the official journal of the American Society of Papyrologists since the publication of Volume 1, issue 1 in 1963 and is the only North American journal devoted to papyrology and related disciplines. This website makes all issues of BASP available electronically one year after publication in print. Information about subscribing to the print version and ordering individual issues is available online.BASP publishes a wide variety of articles and reviews of relevance to papyrology and related disciplines. From text editions to important synthetic articles, BASP has published studies on papyri, ostraca, and inscriptions in Greek, Latin, and Coptic. In the future, BASP will broaden its coverage to include Hieratic, Demotic, Aramaic, and Arabic texts.

This journal is devoted exclusively to publishing the transactions of various Russian Academy of Sciences congresses, conferences, symposia and school seminars across the fields of physics, thus providing access to a very large body of authoritative, advanced research results in pure and applied physics in Russia and the former Soviet Union. Articles presented here are usually complete and published nowhere else. In some cases, the papers are work-in-progress reports that may be published later in finished form in specialized journals. For the most part, the contributors are affiliated with Russian Academy of Sciences institutes, other leading physics research institutes throughout the former Soviet Union, and major Russian universities, sometimes with foreign collaborators. Comprising more than 2000 pages annually, the journal presents an enormous amount of information that cannot be obtained elsewhere.

The Cahiers de Linguistique Asie Orientale (CLAO) is an established peer-reviewed international journal whose mission is to publish new and original research on the analysis of languages of the East and Southeast Asian region, be they descriptive or theoretical. The journal seeks top-level contributions in any linguistic subdomain and in any theoretical framework with reference to a language or languages from the East and Southeast Asian region. Focusing at the same time on well-studied Asian languages, such as Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, and on those that are still partially or entirely undocumented, CLAO brings languages of the East and Southeast Asian region into a key position in current debate within linguistics and related fields.

Carcinogenesis: Integrative Cancer Research is a multi-disciplinary journal that brings together all the varied aspects of research that will ultimately lead to the prevention of cancer in man. The journal will publish papers that warrant prompt publication in the areas of Cancer Biology (including the processes of promotion, progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, genomic instability, growth factors, cell and molecular biology, mutation, DNA repair, genetics, etc.), Molecular Epidemiology (including genetic predisposition to cancer, and epidemiology), Cancer Prevention (including molecular dosimetry, chemoprevention, nutrition and cancer, etc.), and Carcinogenesis (including viral, chemical and physical carcinogenesis, metabolism of carcinogens, and the formation, detection, identification and quantification of environmental carcinogens).

Cardiovascular Toxicology is the only journal dedicated to publishing contemporary issues, timely reviews, and experimental and clinical data on the molecular therapy of cardiovascular disease. CT publishes papers that will elucidate the effects, molecular mechanisms, and signaling pathways of environmental toxicants on the cardiovascular system. Also covered are the detrimental effects of new cardiovascular drugs, and cardiovascular effects of non-cardiovascular drugs, anti-cancer chemotherapy, and gene therapy. In addition, Cardiovascular Toxicology reports safety and toxicological data on new cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular drugs. This is a unique journal in which these data can be scrutinized separately from efficacy.

Cell Biochemistry and Function is a print and online journal that publishes original research articles and reviews on the mechanisms whereby molecular and biochemical processes control cellular activity with a particular emphasis on the integration of molecular and cell biology, biochemistry and physiology in the regulation of tissue function in health and disease. The primary remit of the journal is on mammalian biology both in vivo and in vitro but studies of cells in situ are especially encouraged. Observational and pathological studies will be considered providing they include a rational discussion of the possible molecular and biochemical mechanisms behind them and the immediate impact of these observations to our understanding of mammalian biology. Cellular & Molecular Biology Letters focuses on research at the interface of cellular and molecular biology, and also on the fields of biochemistry, biophysics and biotechnology. The range of coverage includes cellular compartments, the cell cycle and its regulation, cell differentiation, stem cells, cell traffic, signaling, motility, adhesion and division, the cellular membranes, the cytoskeleton, nuclear architecture, gene expression, and molecular biotechnology. Since its founding in 1996, at the University of Wroclaw, Poland, Cellular & Molecular Biology Letters has served as an international journal: a vehicle for the publication of research and review articles on achievements in cell and molecular biology, and related disciplines. The journal offers research articles and short communications, as well as mini-reviews and review articles on recent advances of interest to its readership.

Cellulose is an international journal devoted to the dissemination of research and scientific and technological progress in the field of cellulose and related naturally occurring polymers. The journal is concerned with the pure and applied science of cellulose and related materials, and also with the development of relevant new technologies. This includes the chemistry, biochemistry, physics and materials science of cellulose and its sources, including wood and other biomass resources, and their derivatives. Coverage extends to the conversion of these polymers and resources into manufactured goods, such as pulp, paper, textiles, and manufactured as well natural fibers, and to the chemistry of materials used in their processing. The initiative to start with publication of a new journal Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly (CABEQ) as a part of European Alpe-Adria initiative for regional cooperation is described. Given are the main goals for the new journal published by Croatian Association of Chemical Engineers, formation of the international editorial board, and experiences gained during 15 years of publishing. Presented are statistical data on published papers, country of origin of authors, and classification of papers into chemical and biochemical engineering fields. The experiences gained during the last two years with publishing on Internet and planned activities in future are also presented. A view on validation of journals by ISI impact factor is discussed.

Archiv der Pharmazie - Chemistry in Life Sciences is an international journal devoted to research and development in all fields of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry. Emphasis is put on papers combining synthetic organic chemistry, structural biology, molecular modelling, bioorganic chemistry, natural products chemistry, biochemistry or analytical methods with pharmaceutical or medicinal aspects such as biological activity. The focus of this journal is put on original research papers, but other scientifically valuable contributions (e.g. reviews, minireviews, highlights, symposia contributions, discussions, and essays) are also welcome. The bi-monthly China & World Economy was launched in 1993 by the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). It is the only English-language journal in China devoted to the topic of the Chinese economy. City & Community (C&C) aims to advance urban sociological theory, promote the highest quality empirical research on communities and urban social life, and encourage sociological perspectives on urban policy. It welcomes contributions that employ quantitative and qualitative methods as well as comparative and historical approaches. The journal encourages manuscripts exploring the interface of global and local issues, locally embedded social interaction and community life, urban culture and the meaning of place, and sociological approaches to urban political economy. Climacteric – publishes international, original, peer-reviewed research on all aspects of aging in men and women, especially during the menopause and climacteric.
