Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A The Journal of Biomedical Materials Research is an international, interdisciplinary, English-language publication of original contributions concerning studies of the preparation, performance, and evaluation of biomaterials; the chemical, physical, toxicological, and mechanical behavior of materials in physiological environments; and the response of blood and tissues to biomaterials. The Journal publishes peer-reviewed articles on all relevant biomaterial topics including the science and technology of alloys, polymers, ceramics, and reprocessed animal and human tissues in surgery, dentistry, artificial organs, and other medical devices. The Journal also publishes articles in interdisciplinary areas such as tissue engineering and controlled release technology where biomaterials play a significant role in the performance of the medical device. The Journal of Biomedical Materials Research is the official journal of the Society For Biomaterials (USA) , the Japanese Society for Biomaterials, the Australasian Society for Biomaterials, and the Korean Society for Biomaterials.

The Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs began in 1940 as the Quarterly Journal of Studies on Alcohol. It was founded by Howard W. Haggard, M.D., director of Yale University’s Laboratory of Applied Physiology. Dr. Haggard was a physiologist studying the effects of alcohol on the body, and he started the Journal as a way to publish the increasing amount of research on alcohol use, abuse, and treatment that emerged from Yale and other institutions in the years following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. In addition to original research, the Journal also published abstracts summarizing other published documents dealing with alcohol. At Yale, Dr. Haggard built a large team of alcohol researchers within the Laboratory of Applied Physiology—including E.M. Jellinek, who became managing editor of the Journal in 1941. In 1943, to bring together the various alcohol research projects conducted by the Laboratory, Dr. Haggard formed the Section of Studies on Alcohol, which also became home to the Journal and its editorial staff. In 1950, the Section was renamed the Center of Alcohol Studies.

The Journal on the Use of Force and International Law (JUFIL) is a new peer reviewed journal covering all aspects of the law governing the use of force (jus ad bellum), as distinct from other areas of international law relating to security issues, such as International Humanitarian Law or International Criminal Law. The Journal aims to provide a forum for top quality international research into all facets of the law governing the use of force, covering issues such as the nature and scope of the inherent right of self-defence, the use of force authorised by the UN Security Council and force employed for humanitarian purposes. As such, it has a focused mandate, whilst engaging with the 'jus ad bellum' broadly defined, ensuring a wide appeal.

The American Journal of Hospice & Palliative Medicine a peer reviewed journal, considers articles in the related fields of hospice and palliative medicine which are scientifically sound and clinically relevant. The aim of the Journal is the dissemination of medical science to broaden education and advance understanding of the complex issues encountered in these areas. Articles related to multidisciplinary care, end of life issues, pain and symptom management psychosocial aspects, quality of care, and the like are appropriate for the Journal. As always emphasis is on information directly applicable to the care of the patient/family at the bedside.

The American Orthoptic Journal enables those in the orthoptic and ophthalmologic communities to keep abreast of current clinical practice and research in ocular motility. The Journal serves as a forum for the presentation of new material in the fields of pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, amblyopia and strabismus. Materials contained in the journal include freely submitted peer reviewed articles, the Richard G. Scobee Memorial Lecture, the John Pratt Johnson Lecture, and the proceedings of the combined AOC/AACO/AAO symposium held at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Abstracts of the English, French, German, and Spanish literature on the subjects of amblyopia and strabismus as well as book reviews are also included. American Orthoptic Journal is indexed in MEDLINE.

The Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society publishes original papers on systematic and evolutionary botany and comparative studies of both living and fossil plants. Review papers are also welcomed which integrate fields such as cytology, morphogenesis, palynology and phytochemistry into a taxonomic framework. The Journal will only publish new taxa in exceptional circumstances or as part of larger monographic or phylogenetic revisions. The Brazilian Journal of Anesthesiology is the official journal of the Brazilian Anesthesiology Society. It publishes articles classified into the following categories:

The European Journal of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics addresses all aspects of pre-clinical and clinical pharmacokinetics, including drug disposition, drug metabolism, drug transport, drug interactions, bioavailability and biopharmacy. The journal welcomes publications in the field of pharmacokinetic modeling. Analytical methods validation and bioequivalence studies will not be considered for publication. The journal publishes original articles, short preliminary communications, review articles on special topics, and conference proceedings.The European Journal of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics publishes four issues a year.

European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology publishes papers reporting original clinical and scientific research which are of a high standard and which contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. The journal publishes three types of manuscript: in-depth reviews (by invitation only), full papers and case reports. Manuscripts submitted to the journal will be accepted on the understanding that the author has not previously submitted the paper to another journal or had the material published elsewhere. Authors are asked to disclose any affiliations, including financial, consultant, or institutional associations, that might lead to bias or a conflict of interest.

The International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases (formerly APLAR Journal of Rheumatology) is the official journal of the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology and is published four times per year. The Journal accepts original articles on clinical or experimental research pertinent to the rheumatic diseases, work on connective tissue diseases and other immune and allergic disorders. The acceptance criteria for all papers are the quality and originality of the research and its significance to our readership. The Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik is the oldest mathematics periodical still in existence. Founded in 1826 by August Leopold Crelle and edited by him until his death in 1855, it soon became widely known under the name of Crelle's Journal.
