Environmental studies, particularly the biophysical environment and human interaction with it. Papers dealing with international issues, or with nations other than Australia and those within its region, must have an Australian, Asian or Pacific perspective or deal with implications for Australia or its neighbours. Papers addressing theoretical and philosophical issues in geography are also sought. Preference will be given to papers which have a broad appeal to geographers, geography educators and people in cognate areas including Australian studies and environmental studies. The objective of the journal is to publish novel information leading to a better understanding of biological mechanisms of human diseases, their prevention, diagnosis, and patient management. Reports of an applied clinical character are also welcome. Papers concerned with normal metabolic processes or with constituents of normal cells or body fluids, such as reports of experimental or clinical studies in animals, are only considered when they are clearly and directly relevant to human disease. Evaluation of commercial products have a low priority for publication, unless they are novel or represent a technological breakthrough. Studies dealing with effects of drugs and natural products and studies dealing with the redox status in various diseases are not within the journal's scope. Development and evaluation of novel analytical methodologies where applicable to diagnostic clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine, including point-of-care testing, and topics on laboratory management and informatics will also be considered.

Combustion Theory and Modelling is devoted to the application of mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and experimental techniques to the study of combustion. Experimental studies that are published in the Journal should be closely related to theoretical issues, by highlighting fundamental theoretical questions or by providing a sound basis for comparison with theory. Head & Neck is an international multidisciplinary publication of original contributions concerning the diagnosis and management of diseases of the head and neck. This area involves the overlapping interests and expertise of several surgical and medical specialties, including general surgery, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, oral surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, pathology, radiotherapy, medical oncology, and the corresponding basic sciences. Head & Neck publishes original contributions on clinical and research topics. Each manuscript is submitted to peer review by at least two experts in the field. Comprehensive reviews of topics, particularly in fields subject to rapid change in knowledge, will be included at the discretion of the Editor and on the recommendation of reviewers. Technical notes, descriptions of new technologies, single case reports of unusual interest, and brief preliminary communications are accepted after proper peer review. Editorials and Letters to the Editor are also considered for publication. In this context, the fields of neurotoxicology and teratology include studies of agent-induced alterations of nervous system function, with a focus on behavioral outcomes and their underlying physiological and neurochemical mechanisms.
