Journal for the Study of Spirituality is a peer-reviewed journal which creates a unique interdisciplinary, inter-professional and cross-cultural forum where researchers, scholars and others engaged in the study and practices of spirituality can share and debate the research, knowledge, wisdom and insight associated with spirituality and contemporary spirituality studies.

The  British Association for the Study of Spirituality (BASS) organises a biennial international conference and welcomes enquiries about membership from those interested in the study of spirituality in the UK and worldwide.

The journal is concerned with what spirituality means, and how it is expressed, in individuals’ lives and communities and in professional practice settings; and with the impact and implications of spirituality in, and on, social policy, organizational practices and personal and professional development. The journal recognises that spirituality and spiritual values can be expressed and studied in secular contexts, including in scientific and professional practice settings, as well as within faith and wisdom traditions.

Thus, Journal for the Study of Spirituality particularly welcomes contributions that:

• identify new agendas for research into spirituality within and across subject disciplines and professions;
• explore different epistemological and methodological approaches to the study of spirituality;
• introduce comparative perspectives and insights drawn from different cultures and/or professional practice settings;
• aim to apply and develop sustained reflection, investigation and critique in relation to spirituality and spiritual practices;
• critically examine the values and presuppositions underpinning different forms of spirituality and spiritual practices;
• incorporate different forms of writing and expressions of spirituality.

Journal for the Study of Spirituality includes:

• Research papers based on completed research or substantial work-in progress (epistemological and methodological approaches should be clarified for the benefit of readers from different disciplines and cultures);

Registered Reports: NFS Journal offers pre-registration of the study design, planned experiments, and hypothesis and, if these are deemed interesting and worth publishing by members of the editorial board and outside expert reviewers, researchers will be able to publish their pre-registered studies in the journal irrespective of the outcome of the experiments, as long as the experiments have been performed accurately and data analyses and interpretation are according to the highest scientific standards and follow the pre-registered procedures. The African Historical Review is the successor to Kleio: A Journal of Historical Studies from Africa, which was published by the Department of History at the University of South Africa (Unisa) for more than thirty-five years. It therefore has a long and distinguished history. Originally conceived as a research and teaching forum for histories taught in the Department and to promote the work of students and staff, the journal has more recently been transformed into a publication in which high quality articles on a wide variety of historical subjects have appeared. The outstanding level of professional research and writing displayed in the journal has been recognised internationally, and from 2004 it became an accredited academic journal in South Africa, earning subsidy from the Department of Education. It is being relaunched as the African Historical Review in order to attract both a broader readership and contributor base and to showcase scholarship beyond southern Africa thus emphasising its intention to articulate southern African studies with continental African scholarship. The African Historical Review is independent of any professional society or association. Its mission, as befits its base in Africa and its new name, is to be transdisciplinary, responsive to theoretical developments in research relating to the continent of Africa and within fields closely linked to historical and heritage studies (including teaching) more generally. Education Sciences (ISSN 2227-7102) is a scholarly international open access journal. It publishes extended full-length research papers that have the scope to substantively address current issues in education. There is no restriction on the length of the papers relevant to any field of study within education. Submissions that synthesize information from disparate backgrounds, place research findings within a broad context, extend our methodological and theoretical understanding, and have the likelihood of informing education policy and practice, are preferred. The journal publishes quantitative, qualitative and mixed method research papers. Extended reviews of substantive research studies and/or technical reports published elsewhere are also welcome. Additionally, Education Sciences invites commentaries and original opinion pieces and/or analysis of issues and events of concern to education scholars that have international resonance. Our aim is to encourage researchers to publish their research in as much detail as possible. Full reports of findings and methodical details should be provided. Computed data or files, if available and unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary material. Online features can take advantage of the variety of media made possible through electronic publishing, including the use of audio, video, complex or dynamic graphic displays, interactive sessions, performances, and other means to improve the communication of scholarly work. The idea to publish a scientific journal of three Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia) on the issues related to roads and bridges, which was born at the beginning of 2005, was implemented at last. In the first volume of the journal Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian scientists investigate topical issues of road and bridge construction, repair, maintenance and traffic safety. The journal is the first one in the Baltic countries dealing with the issues mentioned above. We believe that in the future scientists from other foreign countries will become authors of research articles, and the topics of articles will range widely. The periodicity of the journal (4 volumes per year), requires an expeditious and responsible work of the authors, editors and all members of the Editorial Board.
