Bangladesh is a humid, subtropical country favouring luxuriant growth of microorganisms, fungi and plants from algae to angiosperms with rich diversity. She has the largest mangrove forest of the world in addition to diverse hilly and wetland habitats. More than a century back, foreign explorers endeavoured several floral expeditions, but little was done for non-vasculars and pteridophytes. In recent times, Bangladesh National Herbarium has been carrying out taxonomic research in Bangladesh along with few other national institutes (e.g. Department of Botany of public universities and Bangladesh Forest Research Institute). But, a complete inventory is yet to be accomplished. Moreover, the novel and applied branches of plant taxonomy are still emerging in Bangladesh with great potentials. There are a few peer-reviewed journals published from Bangladesh related to plant sciences (e.g. Bangladesh Journal of Botany) which are open to all branches of Botany including plant taxonomy. Because of page restrictions, they only publish small taxonomic papers and are not enough to meet the growing needs of native plant taxonomists. Moreover, there is no journal dedicated to ethnobotanical studies or plant conservation issues including review articles.

Papers published in the journal may cover a wide range of topics in imaging of infectious diseases, including, but not limited to:

• Fundamental Topics - The regular research articles, experiences and case reports on diagnostic or interventional imaging of infectious diseases including CT imaging, MR imaging, Digital Radiography, PET-CT, Ultrasound imaging, DSA and so on.
• Functional imaging in infectious diseases - The survey of functional imaging combining with physiopathology about infectious diseases.
• Molecular imaging in infectious diseases - The research to examine infectious diseases from molecular mechanism.
• Basic study on imaging of infectious diseases - Both clinical and animal experiments are acceptable.
• Novel theories, technology, concepts or discovery on diagnostic or interventional imaging of infectious diseases.

Bioresource Technology Reports is an online-only rapid-publication journal focused on the fundamentals, applications and management of bioresource technology. Like its sister journal, Bioresource Technology, Bioresource Technology Reports' mission is to advance and disseminate knowledge in all the related areas of bioenergy, biotransformations and bioresource systems analysis, and technologies associated with conversion or production.

Bioresource Technology Reports publishes original articles, review articles, case studies and short communications. Alongside welcoming direct submissions, the journal will benefit from an Article Transfer Service which will allow the author(s) to transfer their manuscript online from Bioresource Technology thus saving authors time and effort spent on formatting and resubmitting. Papers may be suggested for transfer from Bioresource Technology to Bioresource Technology Reportsif they have a very strong applied element or are more focussed on a particular area. Bioresource Technology Reports will also be more considerate of papers with preliminary findings at an earlier stage of the research cycle, but these papers must be considered important for the scientific literature, to improve the replicability and scalability of the fundamental research.

The Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research (JSLHR) annually publishes summary statistics of acceptance/rejection rates and manuscript processing times. These summary statistics provide data on acceptance/rejection rates, frequently used by tenure/promotion committees, as well as average manuscript processing times, often of interest to contributing authors.Table 1 shows the rates for acceptance and rejection for manuscripts receiving a final decision in 2008 through 2010, regardless of the year the manuscript was submitted originally. The Speech, Language, and Hearing sections of the journal are reported separately. Accepted manuscripts are those for which a final decision to accept has been made. Rejected manuscripts are those that have been judged unsuitable for publication and for which no further revision or resubmission has been requested.Figure 1 presents data for manuscripts that had completed the review process as of year-end 2010. The submission-to-decision interval is calculated from the date the editor's office receives the new or revised manuscript to the date a decision is made on the manuscript.

Micron is an interdisciplinary forum for all work that involves new applications of microscopy or where advanced microscopy plays a central role. The journal will publish on the design, methods, application, practice or theory of microscopy and microanalysis, including reports on optical, electron-beam, X-ray microtomography, and scanning-probe systems. Northern History was the first regional historical journal. Produced since 1966 under the auspices of the School of History, University of Leeds, its purpose is to publish scholarly work on the history of the seven historic Northern counties of England: Cheshire, Cumberland, Durham, Lancashire, Northumberland, Westmorland and Yorkshire. Since it was launched it has always been a refereed journal, attracting articles on Northern subjects from historians in many parts of the world. It aims to stimulate and encourage serious research, professional and amateur alike, on the history of all parts of the North, including the Borders, from Roman times to the twentieth century. Archaeological reports are not accepted, but papers which use archaeological evidence and articles based on all kinds of historical sources and methods of research are welcome. The journal includes articles on topics treated regionally, and on the history of particular localities set in a wider context; it seeks to publish contributions which examine historical topics in different parts of the North, or which draw comparisons between different areas and explain the historical distinctiveness of particular districts. Northern History also includes papers which discuss general Northern subjects or which compare the history of the North with that of other parts of the country.

npj Systems Biology and Applications is an online Open Access journal dedicated to publishing the premier research that takes a systems-oriented approach. The journal aims to provide a forum for the presentation of articles that help define this nascent field, as well as those that apply the advances to wider fields. We encourage studies that integrate, or aid the integration of, data, analyses and insight from molecules to organisms and broader systems. Important areas of interest include not only fundamental biological systems and drug discovery, but also applications to health, medical practice and implementation, big data, biotechnology, food science, human behaviour, broader biological systems and industrial applications of systems biology. Stanislavski Studies is a peer-reviewed journal with an international scope. It focuses not only on Stanislavski’s work as actor, director and teacher but more broadly on his influence and legacy which can be seen in the work of many of the twentieth-century’s most influential theatre-makers: these will include Lee Strasberg, Sanford Meisner, Michael Chekhov, Stella Adler, Vakhtangov, Komissarjevsky, Meyerhold and the many others who were directly influenced by Stanislavski’s theories and practice.

Studies in Family Planning is a peer-reviewed, international journal publishing public health, social science, and biomedical research on sexual and reproductive health, fertility, and family planning, with a primary focus on developing countries. Each issue contains original research articles, reports, commentaries, data papers, and book reviews. Studies in Family Planning is published quarterly.

The journal has a two-tiered review process. Preliminary review is the initial screening that each manuscript undergoes to assess appropriateness of topic and treatment, its accessibility and interest to our readership, and its contribution to the journal's overall diversity and balance. The paper is read by members of the Editorial Committee and discussed at a monthly meeting. If a paper does not pass preliminary review, the author receives early notification—though without detailed comments—and is able to submit it to another journal without undue loss of time. Papers that pass preliminary review are sent out to two or more referees. Authors of articles sent out for peer review can expect written comments and a decision about their paper approximately three months after submission. Submissions should be not under consideration elsewhere when submitting to Studies.

The Extractive Industries and Society is the one journal devoted to disseminating in-depth analysis of the socio-economic and environmental impacts of mining and oil and gas production on societies, both past and present. It provides a platform for the exchange of ideas on a wide range of issues and debates on the extractive industries and development, bringing together research undertaken by an interdisciplinary group of social scientists in academia, government, the NGO community and industry.
