The Journal of Early Christian History aims to contribute to scholarship in early Christian and Byzantine studies by publishing high quality research articles, review articles and book reviews. The journal aspires to approach the field of early Christian and Byzantine studies from new perspectives, welcoming studies incorporating various methodologies, contextual trajectories and interdisciplinary research. The journal especially wishes to promote research in these fields within a South African and wider African context, but not neglecting the international scholarly community. It therefore publishes individually submitted articles, articles resulting from research projects and also conference proceedings. Articles and reviews from the following disciplines are covered by the scope of the journal: New Testament Studies; Patristics and Late Ancient Studies; Byzantine Studies. Although these disciplines form the crux of research covered by the journal, studies from other relevant fields such as the Old Testament and Septuagint, Classics and Religion would also be considered for publication.

The journal covers the character, properties, science, and processing aspectsof heavy oil, tar sand bitumen, and residua. Articles also address the environmental aspects of petroleum recovery, refining, and use. Petroleum Science and Technology also publishes selected proceedings from a conference or a collection of papers dealing with a single relevant topic. The journal is of particular interest to the analytical chemist, petroleum chemist, and the chemical and process engineer. Petroleum Science and Technology is changing its print and online frequency. The journal publishes original articles on all aspects of fish ecology and fishery sciences in lakes, rivers and estuaries, including ecologically oriented studies of behaviour, genetics and physiology and the conservation, development and management of recreational and commercial fisheries. Reports of studies examining ecological questions in an evolutionary framework are published as well, including research papers addressing evolutionary ecology, behavioral ecology, population ecology, and population biology. Papers dealing with the life stages of anadromous and catadromous species in estuaries and inshore coastal zones are also published if they contribute to the general understanding of fish ecology. Theoretical papers and studies of impact assessment and modeling are published if they generate testable hypotheses about real systems (fish communities, populations and/or species) or if published data are re-analysed to produce novel conclusions or syntheses. Articles, letters and reviews are published based on their scientific content. Occasionally, the proceedings of conferences and symposia are published if they are relevant and timely.

The Journal of Social Distress and the Homeless ( SDH) is an international publication of original, peer-reviewed papers on psychosocial distress throughout society. The Journal publishes experimental research papers, clinical papers, theoretical papers, review papers, brief reports, review articles, and from time to time publishes symposium proceedings and special issues. The Journal is designed for professionals in the behavioural, medical, psychological, and social sciences.

The Journal is dedicated to innovative and timely studies in three broad areas of research:
•Social distress and disorganization across different groups, cultures, and settings, in areas such as education, healthcare, criminal justice, economics, social services, and families. Research on disadvantaged populations is particularly welcome.
 
•Clinical, epidemiological, methodological, and health services research on homelessness. Related research on poverty, inadequate or unstable housing, and associated mental and physical illnesses is encouraged.
 
•New methodologies for research on social distress and the homeless. These methodologies can include newly developed instruments, measures, and tests; novel recruitment and sampling strategies; advanced analytic techniques and statistical approaches; and technology-based solutions.

European Journal of Clinical Nutrition (EJCN) is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing articles related to human and clinical nutrition. The scope of the journal includes publishing Original Articles, Invited Reviews, Systematic Reviews, Clinical Trials papers and Short Communications based on clinical, metabolic and epidemiological studies that describe methodologies, mechanisms, associations and benefits of nutritional interventions for clinical disease and health promotion. Editorials, Letters to the Editor, Response to Letter and Commentaries also feature in EJCN. Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism is a leading international peer-reviewed journal for sharing information on human nutrition, metabolism, and related fields, covering the broad and multidisciplinary nature of science in nutrition and metabolism. The journal focuses on human nutrition and metabolism, and related areas, including experimental studies and basic science that can inform human nutrition science. We welcome manuscripts describing observational and intervention studies as well as basic science reports on the topics of foods, diets and dietary supplements, nutrigenomics and genetics related to metabolism, on energy metabolism, macro- and micronutrients including vitamins and minerals, biofunctional compounds, dietetics, obesity, clinical nutrition, social sciences and health economy as related to nutrition and metabolism, and nutrition policy. Social change within the countries of Central Europe has brought major changes in agriculture. The abandonment of central planning and the introduction of the open market have created a need for the quickest possible exchange of knowledge. All countries in transition have similar problems; so a logical step is to create a shared journal. The beginning of a new millennium and the spreading of new electronic technologies creates new fields of publishing and easier access to knowledge from remote places. Besides a need for knowledge, there is a need to share problems and solutions with our neighbours but it is also equally important to keep and develop our national languages and identities. We have tried to combine such contradictory problems in one unifying electronic agricultural journal for Central and Eastern Europe. Not less important intention is to ease the demand on the present West European journals in agriculture, and to give opportunity and encouragement to Central European scientists to publish faster. The multilingual strategy of the journal accepts the world intention to preserve and support the development of national languages. This interdisciplinary journal is devoted to the physics, chemistry and materials science of diffusion, mass transport, and reactivity of solids. Swiss Journal of Palaeontology is an international fully Open Access peer-reviewed journal publishing original research and review articles of interest to the international community in the field of palaeontology. The European Respiratory Review publishes state-of-the-art reviews, updates, meeting proceedings, editorials letters and correspondence on current topical issues in respiratory medicine, science and surgery. Forestry publishes high quality articles and reviews on all aspects of research, practice and policy that promote the sustainable development of forests, woodlands and trees. In considering suitability for publication attention is given to both the originality of contributions and their practical application. Preference is usually given to work undertaken in the temperate and/or boreal zones; submissions from the tropics will be considered if they are relevant to the aim of the Journal.Special Issues - each year one edition of Forestry will be a Special Issue and will focus on one subject in detail; this will usually be by publication of the proceedings of an international meeting.This Prize is awarded annually to the author(s) of the best paper published in Forestry on the subject of silviculture, as defined below, during the preceding three years. It can also be awarded to an individual or team for a consistently high standard of papers over a period of five to ten years. In making the award preference is given to papers describing the results of original research in silviculture and to original contributions to the theory and practice of silviculture. For purposes of the award 'silviculture' is defined as the theory and practice of controlling the establishment, composition and growth of forests and shall include the relationship of tree growth to environmental and economic factors and the effects on tree growth of other plants, micro-organisms, insects, birds and other animals.
