The Journal of Theoretical Biology is the leading forum for theoretical perspectives that give insight into biological processes. It covers a very wide range of topics and is of interest to biologists in many areas of research, including:• Cell Biology• Developmental Biology• Ecology• Evolution• Immunology• Infectious Diseases• Mathematical Modeling, Statistics, and Data Bases• Medical Sciences and Plant Pathology• Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry• PhysiologyPlease note that the biological significance of the problem being studied should be clearly stated.Acceptable papers are those that bear significant importance on the biology being presented, and not on the mathematical analysis, per se. Papers that include some data will be considered, including those that contain comparative study, statistical data analysis, mathematical proof, computer simulations, experiments, field observations, or even philosophical arguments, which are all methods to support or reject theoretical ideas. However, there should be a concerted effort to make papers intelligible to biologists in the chosen field.Highly speculative papers not based on current biological knowledge will not be accepted. Also not acceptable are papers in which only mathematics is utilized, or standard statistical methods are applied to existing genomic data, without new theoretical perspective or biologically novel insight.Comment on theoretical issues or on papers published in the journal is welcomed in the form of Letters to the Editors.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. The Journal of Theoretical Politics is an international peer reviewed journal one of whose principal aims is to foster the development of theory in the study of political processes. JTP provides a forum for the publication of original papers seeking to make genuinely theoretical contributions to the study of politics.
This multidisciplinary journal publishes high-quality, original papers in all areas of probability theory, including probability on semigroups, groups, vector spaces, other abstract structures, and random matrices. Journal of Theoretical Probability provides mathematicians and researchers in physics, engineering, statistics, and computer science with a peer-reviewed forum for the exchange of vital ideas in the field of theoretical probability.
Journal of Therapeutic Ultrasound encompasses all aspects of therapeutic ultrasound, namely, the stimulus, inhibition, or modification of tissue function or structure via insonification. This open access, peer-reviewed, online journal focuses mainly on translational and clinical research. The goal is to accelerate the adoption of therapeutic ultrasound as a clinical tool.
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (JTAC) is a fully peer-reviewed, highly cited journal that publishes good quality papers covering all aspects of thermal analysis, calorimetry, and experimental thermodynamics. Twelve issues are published every year containing regular and special issues which focus on topics at the forefront of thermal analysis and calorimetry which are carried out in the following areas: pharmaceuticals, bio-sciences, life-sciences, nano-materials, and energetic materials (including biodiesel, polymers, and biodegradable polymers). JTAC publishes original research papers, short communications, reviews, modern instruments, events, and book reviews. JTAC showcases cutting edge thermal analysis and calorimetry research performed in a variety of disciplines which include: Material Science, Organics, Polymers, Pharmaceuticals, Bio- and Life Sciences. Formerly known as Journal of Thermal Analysis, Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry is published by Springer Science & Business Med
The Journal of Thermal Biology publishes articles that advance our knowledge on the ways and mechanisms through which temperature affects man and animals. This includes studies of their responses to these effects and on the ecological consequences. Directly relevant to this theme are:• The mechanisms of thermal limitation, heat and cold injury, and the resistance of organisms to extremes of temperature• The mechanisms involved in acclimation, acclimatization and evolutionary adaptation to temperature• Mechanisms underlying the patterns of hibernation, torpor, dormancy, aestivation and diapause• Effects of temperature on reproduction and development, growth, ageing and life-span• Studies on modelling heat transfer between organisms and their environment• The contributions of temperature to effects of climate change on animal species and man• Studies of conservation biology and physiology related to temperature• Behavioural and physiological regulation of body temperature including its pathophysiology and fever• Medical applications of hypo- and hyperthermiaArticle types:• Original articles• Review articlesBenefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more.
