Molecular & Cellular Oncology

eISSN: 2372-3556
DOAJ Logo

Aims & Scope: For a long time, solid neoplasms have been viewed as relatively homogeneous entities composed for the most part of malignant cells. It is now clear that tumors are highly heterogeneous structures that evolve in the context of intimate interactions between cancer cells and endothelial, stromal as well as immune cells. During the past few years, experimental and clinical oncologists have witnessed several conceptual transitions of this type. Molecular and Cellular Oncology (MCO) emerges within this conceptual framework as a high-profile forum for the publication of fundamental, translational and clinical research on cancer. The scope of MCO is broad. Submissions dealing with all aspects of oncogenesis, tumor progression and response to therapy will be welcome, irrespective of whether they focus on solid or hematological neoplasms. MCO has gathered leading scientists with expertise in multiple areas of cancer research and other fields of investigation to constitute a large, interdisciplinary, Editorial Board that will ensure the quality of articles accepted for publication. MCO will publish Original Research Articles, Brief Reports, Reviews, Short Reviews, Commentaries, Author Views (auto-commentaries) and Meeting Reports dealing with all aspects of cancer research.

Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 530 Walnut Street, Suite 850, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Molecular & Cellular Proteomics

ISSN: 1535-9476eISSN: 1535-9484
DOAJ Logo

The accelerating determination of genome sequences and their interpretation (genomics) has brought with it one of the most daunting challenges to modern bioscience--the concomitant determination of the structure, function, and expression of the corresponding proteins encoded therein. The magnitude of this task is staggering. The difficulties arise at many stages, ranging from protein isolation and identification to structure determination, protein/protein interactions and gene expression, and the answers will require both existing technologies and methods yet to be developed. Thus, this rapidly expanding field of proteomics, a term coined in evident parallel to genomics, is both an extension of traditional biochemistry and at the same time a new and exciting field. Moreover, the magnitude of this effort will produce volumes of data that will dwarf previous outputs and pose severe problems in their own right. The storage, analysis and manipulation of this information, a problem already realized from genomic studies, has spawned a related field generally called bioinformatics. It is likely that these data sets will drive discovery and research that is unparalleled in the history of bioscience and could eclipse, at least in the early stages, hypothesis-driven experimentation. The management of research databases is not a new phenomenon, but the size of the task will require new and innovative approaches.

Molecular Aspects of Medicine

ISSN: 0098-2997eISSN: 1872-9452

It is the primary objective of this publication to encourage the bridging of the gap between clinicians of all relevant specialities and biomedical scientists working in areas from biochemistry and molecular and cell biology to physiology, pharmacology and pathology. A spectrum of topics in medicine will be selected to illustrate not only the molecular insights that derive from the application of basic science, but also the variety of challenging problems that medicine is able to offer the basic scientist. The Editors and publisher anticipate that most of the authors contributing to the series will be practising clinical scientists who will develop their own personal perspective as an extended review on the molecular aspects of a field of medicine in which they are working, addressing themselves both to the doctor who is ill-at-ease with basic science, and to the basic scientist with little awareness of the problems of clinical practice.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Please click here for more information on our author services .Please see our Guide for Authors for information on article submission. Molecular Biology

ISSN: 0026-8933eISSN: 1608-3245

Molecular Biology covers a wide scope of problems related to molecular and cell biology including structural and functional genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, biomedicine, molecular enzymology, molecular virology and molecular immunology, theoretical bases of biotechnology, physics and physical chemistry of proteins and nucleic acids. Unlike the majority of journals dealing with these subjects, Molecular Biology exercises a multidisciplinary approach and presents the complete pattern of relevant basic research mostly in Eastern Europe. Molecular Biology publishes general interest reviews, mini-reviews, experimental and theoretical works and computational analyses in molecular and cell biology.

Molecular Biology of the Cell

eISSN: 1939-4586

MBoC publishes research articles and essays that report the results of original research and present conceptual advances of broad interest and significance within all areas of cell biology, genetics, and developmental biology. Manuscript submissions whose scope bridges several areas of cell and developmental biology are particularly encouraged. MBoC publishes articles that describe substantial research progress in full. Therefore, authors should include with their manuscript submissions all previously unpublished data and methods essential to support the conclusions drawn. MBoC does not, in general, publish articles that are narrow in scope and better suited to more specialized journals, merely confirmatory or preliminary reports of partially completed or incompletely documented research, findings of as yet uncertain significance, or reports that simply document well-known processes in organisms or cell types not previously studied. Submissions that report new methodologies will be considered only when a new result of biological significance has been achieved or when introduction of the method will significantly accelerate progress within a field.Note that MBoC places a premium on research articles that present conceptual advances of wide interest or deep mechanistic understanding of important CELLULAR processes. As such, articles dealing principally with describing behavior or modification of specific transcription factors, or analysis of the promoter elements through which they interact, will not generally be considered unless accompanied by information supporting in vivo relevance or broad significance.
