Asia-Pacific Psychiatry

ISSN: 1758-5864eISSN: 1758-5872

Asia-Pacific Psychiatry is an international psychiatric journal focused on the Asia and Pacific Rim region, and is the official journal of the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrics. Asia-Pacific Psychiatry enables psychiatric and other mental health professionals in the region to share their research, education programs and clinical experience with a larger international readership. The journal offers a venue for high quality research for and from the region in the face of minimal international publication availability for authors concerned with the region. This includes findings highlighting the diversity in psychiatric behaviour, treatment and outcome related to social, ethnic, cultural and economic differences of the region. The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles and reviews, as well as clinically and educationally focused papers on regional best practices. Images, videos, a young psychiatrist's corner, meeting reports, a journal club and contextual commentaries differentiate this journal from existing main stream psychiatry journals that are focused on other regions, or nationally focused within countries of Asia and the Pacific Rim. The Editors and the Publisher are particularly focused on helping authors develop ideas and improving the language of accepted submissions. Abstracting and Indexing Services: Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition (Thomson ISI), Science Citation Index Expanded (also known as SciSearch®), National Library of Australia. Asia-Pacific Psychiatry accepts articles for Open Access publication. Please see www.blackwellpublishing.com/appy and select author guidelines for further information about OnlineOpen.

Asian Affairs

ISSN: 0306-8374eISSN: 1477-1500

Asian Affairs , the Journal of the Royal Society for Asian Affairs, has been published continuously since 1914 (formerly as the Journal of the Royal Central Asian Society).

Asian Affairs covers the whole region of Asia - the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, South East Asia and East Asia. The Journal has a multi-disciplinary approach, which includes social, political and historical perspectives as well as contemporary affairs.

Editions of Asian Affairs generally consist of articles on specific countries, locales or historical episodes. Some articles are based on lectures to the Society. These and others are the fruit of academic research or the experiences of contributors. Biographical pieces and accounts of archaeological and historical travel have also been published. The editor welcomes contributions which fall within the overall framework of the Journal.

Asian Affairs also still maintains its character as a journal for Society members, with reports of Society activities and tours.

A substantial section of each issue consists of book reviews of new publications. The editor encourages offers to review relevant titles.

The Journal aims to appeal to a broadly interested readership as well as those with an academic interest in Asian affairs. It provides a forum at the interface between learned interest, scholarship, journalism and personal experience.

Asian Anthropology

ISSN: 1683-478XeISSN: 2168-4227

Asian Anthropology seeks to bring interesting and exciting new anthropological research on Asia to a global audience. Until recently, anthropologists writing on a range of Asian topics in English but seeking a global audience have had to depend largely on Western-based journals to publish their works. Given the increasing number of indigenous anthropologists and anthropologists based in Asia, as well as the increasing interest in Asia among anthropologists everywhere, it is important to have an anthropology journal that is refereed on a global basis but that is editorially Asian-based.

Asian Anthropology is editorially based in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan, but welcomes contributions from anthropologists and anthropology-related scholars throughout the world with an interest in Asia, especially East Asia as well as Southeast and South Asia. While the language of the journal is English, we also seek original works translated into English, which will facilitate greater participation and scholarly exchange. The journal will provide a forum for anthropologists working on Asia, in the broadest sense of the term "Asia”. We seek your general support through submissions, subscriptions, and comments.

Asian Anthropology seeks articles and research reports 5,000-10,000 words in length.  Articles should have a theoretical argument that is of interest to anthropologists globally.  Research reports can be focused more fully on ethnography. However, all pieces submitted to Asian Anthropology should have a solid basis in ethnography, which we see as the heart of anthropology.  Both articles and research reports will be refereed by anthropologists whose work is based in Asia.
Peer Review Integrity
All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double-blind and submission is online via Editorial Manuscripts.
