The European Journal of Agronomy, the official journal of the European Society for Agronomy, publishes original research papers reporting experimental and theoretical contributions to crop science in the following fields:• Crop physiology• Crop production and management• Agroclimatology and modelling• Plant-soil relationships• Crop quality and post-harvest physiology• Farming and cropping systems• Agroecosystems and the environmentIn determining the suitability of submitted articles for publication, particular scrutiny will be placed on the degree of novelty and significance of the research and the extent to which it adds to existing knowledge in agronomy. Confirmatory research and results from routine cultivar or agronomy trials will not normally be considered for publication. Review articles are normally written on invitation from the Editor-in-Chief. Authors intending to prepare review papers for the Journal are advised to consult the Editor-in-Chief before writing their reviews.

The European Journal of Plant Pathology is an international journal that publishes original research articles dealing with fundamental and applied aspects of plant pathology. Thus, in addition to bacteriological, mycological, and virological topics, entomological, nematological and plant protection studies in general are also included. 5-Year Impact Factor: 2.054

Field Crops Researchis an international journal publishing scientific articles on both experimental and modelling research at the field, farm and landscape level on temperate and tropical crops and cropping systems, with a focus on crop ecology and physiology, agronomy, and plant genetics and breeding. Articles on plant genetics and breeding need to be integrated with crop ecology and physiology, and/or agronomy. An economic analysis may be included if appropriate.

Papers must demonstrate new scientific insight, original technologies or novel methods that have general application and relevance to field crops. Research findings of a purely corroborative nature, descriptive or of only local significance will not be considered.

The journal's focus is major field crops for food and feed. This focus includes species used for cultivated pastures, but excludes natural grasslands. Other species, including important biofuel crops, could be considered if they contribute to the basic understanding of processes related to development, growth and yield of field crops. Horticultural (i.e., vegetable and fruit species), woody perennial, medicinal and non-cultivated species are outside the scope of the journal.

Field experiments on which manuscripts are based should, unless exceptional circumstances apply, include at least two seasons and/or multiple locations/environments. The inclusion of yield data is highly encouraged to demonstrate how the field experiments contribute to a better understanding of the bio-physical processes related to crop growth. Papers on crop protection (diseases, pests, weeds) can be accepted provided they have a strong focus on crop processes, including consequences for yield. Experiments under controlled conditions (glasshouse, growth chamber) are only acceptable as complementary to field work; studies carried-out exclusively under controlled conditions are outside the scope of the journal. Papers on remote sensing will only be considered if their focus is the use of these techniques to understand crop processes and their links to crop yield. Articles on crop storage, transportation and usage, and social studies on crops and cropping systems, are outside the scope of the journal.

The journal Food Security offers a mixture of original refereed papers taking a synthetic view of the science, sociology and economics of food production, agricultural development, access to food, and nutrition, together with review articles, case studies and letters to the editor. The journal covers the principles and practice of food security per se, taking an overview of the subject or analyzing it with a broad perspective over its many component disciplines.To address the challenge of global food security, the journal probes the constraints - physical, biological, socio-economic and political - which not only limit food production but also the ability of people to access a healthy diet. Food and Agricultural Immunology presents original immunological research with food, agricultural, environmental and veterinary applications. The primary focus of the journal is on the use of immunological techniques and methods which have food, agricultural or veterinary applications. Functional Plant Biology publishes papers that contain new and significant information about plant functions and their regulation, especially in relation to changing environments. First to know the nature of bioenergy GCB Bioenergy exists to promote understanding of the interface between biological sciences and the production of fuels directly from plants, algae and waste. All aspects of current and potential biofuel production, from forestry, crop production, enzymatic deconstruction and microbial fuel synthesis to implications for biodiversity, ecosystem services, economics, policy and global change will be included. Articles from outside this area of interest to a biology readership are policy forum (covering legislative developments affecting biofuels), socioeconomic analyses (examining the economic viability or social acceptability of crops, crops systems and their processing, including genetically modified organisms [GMOs]), and systems analysis (examining biological developments in a whole systems context). Comparative studies of biomass projects and their mitigating effects will be important to the journal, as will plant/microbe interactions (i.e. maximizing yield while reducing/limiting nitrogen input) and genome research.

Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution covers all aspects of plant genetic resources research with original articles in taxonomical, morphological, physiological, biochemical, genetic, cytological or ethnobotanical research on genetic resources and includes contributions to gene bank management: collecting, maintenance, evaluation, storage and documentation.Areas of interest include crop evolution, domestication, crop-weed relationships, agrobiodiversity related wild species and the history of cultivated plants including palaeoethnobotany. Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution also presents short communications on such topics as newly described crop taxa, nomenclatural notes, reports of collecting missions, and evaluation results of gene bank material, as well as book reviews of important publications in the field of genetic resources. Grass and Forage Science has subscribers in nearly 70 countries. It is a major English language journal that publishes the results of research and development in all aspects of grass and forage production, management and utilization; reviews of the state of knowledge on relevant topics; and book reviews. Authors are also invited to submit papers on non-agricultural aspects of grassland management such as recreational and amenity use and the environmental implications of all grassland systems. The Journal considers papers from all climatic zones.

Grassland Science is the official English language journal of the Japanese Society of Grassland Science. It publishes original research papers, review articles and short reports in all aspects of grassland science, with an aim of presenting and sharing knowledge, ideas and philosophies on better management and use of grasslands, forage crops and turf plants for both agricultural and non-agricultural purposes across the world. Green Chemistry provides a unique forum for the publication of innovative research on the development of alternative green and sustainable technologies. Based on the, but not limited to, the twelve principles of green chemistry defined by Anastas and Warner (Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice, P T Anastas and J C Warner, Oxford University Press, Oxford, 1998). Green chemistry is, by definition, a continuously-evolving frontier. Therefore, the inclusion of a particular material or technology does not, of itself, guarantee that a paper is suitable for the journal. To be suitable, the novel advance should have the potential for reduced environmental impact relative to the state of the art. Green Chemistry does not normally deal with research associated with 'end-of-pipe' or remediation issues.
