Perspectives in Plant Ecology, Evolution and Systematics (PPEES) publishes outstanding and thought-provoking articles of general interest to an international readership in the fields of plant ecology, evolution and systematics. Of particular interest are longer, in-depth articles that provide a broad understanding of key topics in the field. There are six issues per year. The following types of article will be considered:Full length reviewsEssay reviewsLonger research articlesMeta-analysesFoundational methodological or empirical papers from large consortia or long-term ecological research sites (LTER)To maintain high scientific standards, manuscripts are submitted to two or more reviewers for evaluation of their scientific soundness and significance. Authors will be generally notified of acceptance, rejection, or need for revision of their manuscripts within three months.Biological flora series (monographs of model species)PPEES is particularly interested in contributions to the knowledge of species that are flagship species for conservation, invasive species of particular concern, or species that are frequently used as models in ecological research. Prospective authors should contact the editorial office of PPEES before starting to write a contribution and enquire whether their planned manuscript would be of interest to PPEES.For more information on the aims and scope of PPEES please read the recent editorial published in Volume 14, Issue 1, 2012. http://www.elsevier-data.de/journals/PPEES_editorial_2012.pdfPerspectives in Plant Ecology, Evolution and Systematics is included in the Research4Life program. Research4Life (http://www.research4life.org/) is a partnership of United Nations agencies, universities, and publishers that makes journal articles available for free or at very low cost to institutions in developing countries. REGULAR MANUSCRIPTS Regular manuscripts should present original hypothesis-driven research in one of the five subject areas covered by the journal (Biochemistry and Metabolism; Ecophysiology. Stress and Adaptation; Uptake. Transport and Assimilation; Development. Growth and Differentiation; Photobiology and Photosynthesis). The experiments described should address questions pertinent to the research topic and the outcomes should advance our understanding of the processes being studied. not simply repeat known results in a different species. MINIREVIEWS(Download guidelines in PDF format) Minireviews. which are subject to peer review. should cover the background of a topical research problem. emphasizing the state of the art and serving as a focal point for further research. They must be written concisely. with no more than 50 references and a maximum of 6 printed pages (one printed page of full text is equivalent to around 5600 characters. including spaces). Minireviews will be considered in all areas of experimental plant science and it is recommended that the Editor-in-Chief be contacted in advance to confirm the suitability of the chosen topic. TECHNICAL FOCUS The Technical Focus section is a forum for critical evaluations and syntheses of key technological approaches in plant physiology. including evaluations of limitations or pitfalls of techniques. The Editors invite contributions on topics of interest from recognized experts but also invite proposals from authors for Technical Focus manuscripts. Phytochemistry is the international journal of pure and applied plant chemistry, plant biochemistry and molecular biology, published 12 times per annum by Elsevier. The majority of these publications will be Regular Issues covering research on all aspects of pure and applied plant biochemistry, especially that which leads to a deeper understanding of the factors underlying the growth, development and metabolism of plants and the chemistry of plant constituents. Phytochemistry is a primary source for papers dealing with plant secondary compounds, especially with regard to their biosynthesis and diverse properties. Phytochemistry is the official organ of The Phytochemical Society of Europe and The Phytochemical Society of North America. The Journal is currently divided into several sections as indicated below, but papers which cut across these sections or which are on any other aspect of plant biochemistry will also be considered.
Phytochemistry Letters invites rapid communications on all aspects of natural product research including:• Structural elucidation of natural products• Analytical evaluation of herbal medicines• Clinical efficacy, safety and pharmacovigilance of herbal medicines• Natural product biosynthesis• Natural product synthesis and chemical modification• Natural product metabolism• Chemical ecology• Biotechnology• Bioassay-guided isolation• Pharmacognosy• Pharmacology of natural products• Metabolomics• Ethnobotany and traditional usage• Genetics of natural productsManuscripts that detail the isolation of just one new compound are not substantial enough to be sent out of review and are out of scope. Furthermore, where pharmacology has been performed on one new compound to increase the amount of novel data, the pharmacology must be substantial and/or related to the medicinal use of the producing organism. For more details please follow this link IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS
