The field of cellular and molecular bioengineering seeks to understand, so that we may ultimately control, the mechanical, chemical, and electrical processes of the cell.  A key challenge in improving human health is to understand how cellular behavior arises from molecular-level interactions. CBME, an official journal of the Biomedical Engineering Society, publishes original research and review papers in the following seven general areas:
Molecular: DNA-protein/RNA-protein interactions, protein folding and function, protein-protein and receptor-ligand interactions, lipids, polysaccharides, molecular motors, and the biophysics of macromolecules that function as therapeutics or engineered matrices, for example.
Cellular: Studies of how cells sense physicochemical events surrounding and within cells, and how cells transduce these events into biological responses. Â Specific cell processes of interest include cell growth, differentiation, migration, signal transduction, protein secretion and
Papers, submitted to this journal, having neither been submitted, accepted nor published previously or simultaneously in other journals or books, may be accepted. It should be noted that all papers have to be transmitted, either to the Editor-in-Chief, to the Associate Editors or to the Co-Editors, who can all, without exception, handle the totality of the procedures, leading to the evaluation of the papers. After revision and acceptance of the paper, it is transmitted to the Editor-in-Chief who decides finally about its definitive acceptability. No any claim can be made by the author(s) concerning an eventual rejection of the paper. They can neither oblige any of the Editors and the Editor-in-Chief to disclose the name(s) and the number of the Referees, nor to give a detailed account about the content of the comments of the Referees.

Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology publishes original research concerned with the analysis of neuronal and brain function at the cellular and subcellular levels. The journal offers timely, peer-reviewed articles that describe anatomic, genetic, physiologic, pharmacologic, and biochemical approaches to the study of neuronal function and the analysis of elementary mechanisms. Studies are presented on isolated mammalian tissues and intact animals, with investigations aimed at the molecular mechanisms or neuronal responses at the level of single cells. Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology also presents studies of the effects of neurons on other organ systems, such as analysis of the electrical or biochemical response to neurotransmitters or neurohormones on smooth muscle or gland cells.
Central Nervous System Agents in Medicinal Chemistry aims to cover all the latest and outstanding developments in medicinal chemistry and rational drug design for the discovery of new central nervous system agents.
Akadémiai Kiadó publishes more than 60 peer-reviewed international journals which represent a score of scientific fields and are managed by Editorial Boards from Hungary, Poland, Germany and the UK. All of our journals are indexed in Scopus, and many of them are indexed in the Science Citation Index or in the most important field-specific databases, i.e. Medline/Pubmed, Chemical Abstracts, Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS Previews, etc. The overall citation of our journals has increased annually since 2005.Co-operating with market-leading subcontractors from all over the world we offer an advanced and excellent on-line service for our authors and readers worldwide. .
Channels is the first international peer-reviewed journal to focus exclusively on all aspects of ion channel and ion transporter/exchanger function. This includes papers on biophysics, structure, molecular biology, structure-function analysis, and regulation of channels and ion transport proteins, as well as their roles in health and disease. We also encourage submission of manuscripts concerned with physiological aspects that branch into areas such as neuroscience and cardiovascular sciences, provided that channels and/or transporters are the main focus of such studies. There are no limitations on technical and experimental approaches that will be considered. The goal is to foster communication and rapid exchange of information through timely publication of important results using traditional (print) as well as electronic formats (online). The overriding criteria for publication in Channels are originality, scientific merit and general interest. Channels is a bi-monthly publication.Categories of manuscripts include original research, reviews, article addenda, commentaries and meeting reports. All manuscripts are sent for in depth peer review, however, the editorial board will consider reviewer reports from submissions to leading journals such as Nature, Science and Cell for accelerated review. Our goal is for Channelsto become the leading journal in the ion channel and transporter fields.

Chemical Biology & Drug Design is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that is dedicated to the advancement of innovative science, technology and medicine with a focus on the multidisciplinary fields of chemical biology and drug design. It is the aim of Chemical Biology & Drug Design to capture significant research and drug discovery that highlights new concepts, insight and new findings within the scope of chemical biology and drug design. The following scientific topics will exemplify the scope of the journal:.
Chemical Papers is devoted to research in pure and applied chemistry and chemical engineering. At its founding in 1947, the journal presented the achievements of Slovak chemical science. Today, it is a peer-reviewed international journal published in English by the Institute of Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, with the support of several other academic institutions. Its interdisciplinary coverage brings chemistry research together with related disciplines, including analytical chemistry; (bio)catalysis; biochemistry; chemical (bio)technology; (bio)chemical engineering; chemical physics; drug chemistry; food chemistry; environmental chemistry; inorganic chemistry; macromolecular chemistry; materials chemistry; mathematical chemistry; medical and pharmaceutical chemistry; nanochemistry; organic chemistry; physical chemistry and more.
Chemical Reviews publishes comprehensive, authoritative, critical, and readable reviews of important recent research across all areas of chemistry.
Reviews are only considered for publication by invitation, but prospective authors are encouraged to submit a Proposal which, if accepted, will result in an invitation to submit a full Review. The journal considers submissions in core fields such as, but not limited to:
