Combustion Theory and Modelling is devoted to the application of mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and experimental techniques to the study of combustion. Experimental studies that are published in the Journal should be closely related to theoretical issues, by highlighting fundamental theoretical questions or by providing a sound basis for comparison with theory. Articles can cover a wide range of topics, such as: premixed laminar flames, laminar diffusion flames, turbulent combustion, fires, chemical kinetics, pollutant formation, microgravity, materials synthesis, vapour deposition, catalysis, droplet and spray combustion, detonation dynamics, thermal explosions, ignition, energetic materials and propellants, burners and engine combustion. A wide range of mathematical methods may also be used, including large scale numerical simulation, hybrid computational schemes, front tracking, adaptive mesh refinement, optimized parallel computation, asymptotic methods and singular perturbation techniques, bifurcation theory, optimization methods, dynamical systems theory, cellular automata and discrete methods and probabilistic and statistical methods. All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees.DisclaimerTaylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications. The mission of the journal is to publish high quality work from experimental, theoretical, and computational investigations on the fundamentals of combustion phenomena and closely allied matters. While submissions in all pertinent areas are welcomed, past and recent focus of the journal has been on:Development and validation of reaction kinetics, and reduction of reaction mechanisms and modeling of combustion systems, including:Conventional, alternative, surrogate fuelsPollutants, particulate and aerosol formation and abatementHeterogeneous processesExperimental, theoretical, and computational studies of laminar and turbulent combustion phenomena, including:Premixed and non-premixed flamesIgnition, extinctionFlame propagationFlame structureInstabilities and swirlFlame spreadMulti-phase reactantsAdvances in diagnostic and computational methods in combustion, including:Measurement and simulation of scalar and vector propertiesNovel techniques and state-of-the art applicationsFundamental investigations of combustion technologies and systems, including:Internal combustion enginesGas turbinesSmall- and large-scale stationary combustion and power generationCatalytic combustionCombustion synthesisCombustion under extreme conditionsNew concepts
The journal Combustion, Explosion, and Shock Waves is one of the few worldwide publications of results obtained in research in physics and chemistry of combustion of substances in various phase states, detonation processes, obtaining new materials in combustion waves, shock waves, and detonation waves, explosive welding, response of materials and structures to dynamic loading, high-velocity impact, and powder compaction. Structural and chemical transformations of matter in shock and detonation waves and related phenomena are considered. Papers on the development of analytical and numerical models of phenomena under study are also published in the journal. A specific feature of the journal is the wide scope of combustion and explosion topics: from initiation of combustion in gases to the response of materials to shock loading, from computer-aided modeling of detonation of powerful high explosives to obtaining superconducting materials under shock compression. Reviews are also published in addition to regular p
Current Alternative Energy , a peer reviewed journal publishes full-length/mini reviews, original research articles and thematic issues on experimental and applied research on alternative energy sources. The scope covers sustainable and alternative energy sources e.g. solar, wind and wave energy, geothermal, photovoltaics, biofuels. Coverage also includes enabling technologies for renewable energy and energy efficiency studies including energy engineering, new developments in energy devices, energy policy and investment.
Current Opinion in Chemical Engineering is devoted to bringing forth short and focused review articles written by experts on current advances in different areas of chemical engineering. Only invited review articles will be published. The goals of each review article in Current Opinion in Chemical Engineering are:1. To acquaint the reader/researcher with the most important recent papers in the given topic.2. To provide the reader with the views/opinions of the expert in each topic. The reviews are short (about 2500 words or 5-10 printed pages with figures) and serve as an invaluable source of information for researchers, teachers, professionals and students. The reviews also aim to stimulate exchange of ideas among experts.Themed sections:Each review will focus on particular aspects of one of the following themed sections of chemical engineering:1. Nanotechnology2. Energy and environmental engineering3. Biotechnology and bioprocess engineering4. Biological engineering (covering tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, drug delivery)5. Separation engineering (covering membrane technologies, adsorbents, desalination, distillation etc.)6. Materials engineering (covering biomaterials, inorganic especially ceramic materials, nanostructured materials).7. Process systems engineering8. Reaction engineering and catalysis.Selection of the topics to be reviewed:Section Editors of each themed section are authorities in the field and are selected by the Editors of the journal. They divide their section into a number of topics ensuring that the field is comprehensively covered and that all issues of current importance are emphasized. Section Editors commission reviews from authorities on each topic that they have selected. Each issue of the journal will focus on two themed sections. There will be four issues of the journal per year covering each themed section once per year.Reviews:Authors write short review articles in which they present most recent developments in their subject, emphasizing the aspects that, in their opinion, are most important. In addition, they provide short annotations to the papers that they consider to be most interesting from all those published in their topic over the previous three to four years. The review articles undergo internal review by the Section Editors, Editorial Board members and the Editors.Editorial Overview:Section Editors write a short overview at the beginning of the section to introduce the reviews and to draw the reader's attention to any particularly interesting developments.
