The Journal of Natural Fibers presents new achievements in basic research and the development of multi-purpose applications that further the economical and ecological production of hard fibers, protein fibers, seed, bast, leaf, and cellulosic fibers. Materials Horizons is a leading journal for the publication of exceptionally high quality, innovative materials science. The journal places an emphasis on original research that demonstrates a new concept or a new way of thinking (a conceptual advance), in addition to outstanding articles featuring truly breakthrough developments. Materials Horizons spans the entire breadth of materials science, including theoretical or experimental studies that report new understanding, applications, properties and synthesis of materials.

Molecular engineering employs experimental, theoretical and computational approaches to establish new understanding of molecular properties and behaviours and uses this understanding to design and assemble better materials, systems, and processes to achieve specific functions. MSDE provides a hub for research into new understanding of molecular systems and the use of this understanding in applications of technological significance that help address global challenges.

Other areas, such as the development of methodological and modelling approaches and the development of materials and methods to enhance nanosafety, are appropriate if there is a clear and demonstrable link to the above themes.

Types of article NanoImpact publishes the following article types:

• Original Research Articles: Demonstrate important new discoveries in the relevant fields;
• Critical Reviews: Comprehensively summarize and evaluate the latest developments in the relevant field;
• Frontiers: Identify potential new important areas in the relevant field.

Original Research Articles and Critical Reviews are limited to 7000 and 10000 words excluding figures, tables and references. A maximum of 6 figures/tables are allowed for research and review articles. Frontiers are limited to 2000 words, with up to an additional 3 figures and tables allowed. References are not included in this word limit. Longer articles can be considered if authors can provide a compelling argument in the cover letter. Editors will make the final decision.
