Neuropsychologia

ISSN: 0028-3932eISSN: 1873-3514

Neuropsychologia is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental and theoretical contributions that advance understanding of human cognition and behavior from a neuroscience perspective. The journal will consider for publication studies that link brain function with cognitive processes, including attention and awareness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition.Neuropsychologia has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Submission of papers describing the use of other methodologies – most notably functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and transcranial magnetic stimulation - is strongly encouraged, however. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding human cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. Special issues and Review Papers are published regularly with the aim of providing authoritative surveys of topics of major interest.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews

ISSN: 0149-7634

The journal publishes review articles which are original and significant and deal with all aspects of neuroscience, where the relationship to the study of psychological processes and behavior is clearly established. Conversely, the journal will also publish articles whose primary focus deals with psychological processes and behavior, and which have relevance to one or more aspects of neuroscience.Submissions to the journal are actively encouraged which deal with topics not only in the more traditional areas, but also in the following areas, whenever the reviews bring new insights into brain-behavior relations:• Neuropsychology• Cognitive neuroscience• Brain imaging• In vivo monitoring of the brain's electrical and biochemical activities• Molecular biology• Genetics• NeurocomputationTheoretical articles and mini-reviews, for which the scope and literature coverage are more restricted, will also be published. We do not publish empirical papers. We welcome review articles from clinical researchers whose submission exceeds the high quality threshold for the journal and significantly advances our understanding of a field.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Physiology & Behavior

ISSN: 0031-9384

Physiology & Behavior is aimed at the causal physiological mechanisms of behavior and its modulation by environmental factors. The journal invites original reports in the broad area of behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, in which at least one variable is physiological and the primary emphasis and theoretical context are behavioral. The range of subjects includes behavioral neuroendocrinology, psychoneuroimmunology, learning and memory, ingestion, social behavior, and studies related to the mechanisms of psychopathology. Contemporary reviews and theoretical articles are welcomed and the Editors invite such proposals from interested authors.Thematic issues and more comprehensive studies are also considered for publication, subject to the same review standards and process. Articles will be published in English.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Pragmatics & Cognition

ISSN: 0929-0907eISSN: 1569-9943

Pragmatics & Cognition is an interdisciplinary journal seeking to bring together such disciplines as philosophy, linguistics, semiotics, cognitive science, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, ethology, and cognitive anthropology, among others. The journal seeks to explore relations of all sorts between semiotic systems as used by humans, animals and machines, in connection with mental activities: logical and causal dependence; condition of acquisition, development of loss; modeling, simulation of formalization, shared or separate biological and neurological bases; social and cultural variation; aesthetic expression; historical development; etc. Pragmatics & Cognition's basic assumption is that the proper understanding of mental life and inter-personal relations requires an intensive and thoughtful exchange of views across disciplines.

Social Neuroscience

ISSN: 1747-0919eISSN: 1747-0927

Special Issue Call for Papers: Aggression and ViolenceSocial Neuroscience features original empirical Research Papers, as well as Short Reviews or Commentaries that examine how the brain mediates social cognition, interpersonal exchanges, affective/cognitive group interactions, and related topics that deal with social/personality psychology. The goal of Social Neuroscience is to provide a place to publish empirical articles that intend to further our understanding of the role of the central nervous system in the development and maintenance of social behaviors.Submissions from all branches of neuroscience are encouraged, including (but not limited to) bio/neuropsychology, evolution, psychiatry, neurology, and neuroscience. Further, submissions that have brain-based empirical data in the fields of social and cognitive psychology, including social cognitive neuroscience, philosophy, or other humanities areas are encouraged.Articles published in Social Neuroscience cover all neuroscience techniques including neuroimaging methods (e.g., fMRI, PET, ERP, TMS), as well as more traditional neuroscience techniques (e.g., animal studies, case studies, psychiatric populations, post-mortem studies, pharmaceutical, agonist /antagonist). Social Neuroscience does not publish articles that report only behavioral data. The journal focuses on both molar (i.e., regional cortical localization, neural networks) and molecular (i.e., neurotransmitter) research. All social behaviors are covered including all aspects of inter- and intra-personal relationships. Both environmental and genetic influences are presented. Abnormal behaviors and populations are focused on in terms of understanding social/brain relationships. Language, memory, attention and perception are appropriate topics if they relate to specific social behaviors or cognitions. Studies that approach social neuroscience from an environmental or genetic approach are equally appropriate, and related topics that deal with the interface of neuroscientific and social/personality investigations.Peer Review IntegrityAll published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees.Special IssuesIssues devoted to a single topic are regularly published in this journal; they are sent free to subscribers in that year.
