Neurobiology of Sleep and Circadian Rhythms is a multidisciplinary journal for the publication of original research and review articles on basic, translational and clinical research into sleep. It focuses on the mechanisms of sleep/wake and circadian regulation at the molecular and systems level and on research to examine the function of sleep. The translation of basic research findings to understand and treat sleep and circadian disorders is a key aim of the journal.

Neuropsychologia is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental and theoretical contributions that advance understanding of human cognition and behavior from a neuroscience perspective. The journal will consider for publication studies that link brain function with cognitive processes, including attention and awareness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition.Neuropsychologia has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Submission of papers describing the use of other methodologies – most notably functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and transcranial magnetic stimulation - is strongly encouraged, however. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding human cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. The journal publishes review articles which are original and significant and deal with all aspects of neuroscience, where the relationship to the study of psychological processes and behavior is clearly established. Pharmacology Biochemistry & Behavior publishes original reports in the areas of pharmacology and biochemistry in which the primary emphasis and theoretical context are behavioral. Contributions may involve clinical, preclinical, or basic research. Purely behavioral studies and toxicology studies will not be published unless they have directly demonstrable relevance to the areas of pharmacology or biochemistry. Physiology & Behavior is aimed at the causal physiological mechanisms of behavior and its modulation by environmental factors. The journal invites original reports in the broad area of behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, in which at least one variable is physiological and the primary emphasis and theoretical context are behavioral. The range of subjects includes behavioral neuroendocrinology, psychoneuroimmunology, learning and memory, ingestion, social behavior, and studies related to the mechanisms of psychopathology. Pragmatics & Cognition is an interdisciplinary journal seeking to bring together such disciplines as philosophy, linguistics, semiotics, cognitive science, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, ethology, and cognitive anthropology, among others. The journal seeks to explore relations of all sorts between semiotic systems as used by humans, animals and machines, in connection with mental activities: logical and causal dependence; condition of acquisition, development of loss; modeling, simulation of formalization, shared or separate biological and neurological bases; social and cultural variation; aesthetic expression; historical development; etc. Pragmatics & Cognition's basic assumption is that the proper understanding of mental life and inter-personal relations requires an intensive and thoughtful exchange of views across disciplines.

The journal Stress aims to provide scientists involved in basic stress research with the possibility of reading a more integrated view of the field. Peer reviewed papers, invited reviews and short communications will deal with interdisciplinary aspects of stress in terms of: the mechanisms of stressful stimulation, including within and between individuals; the physiological and behavioural responses to stress, and their regulation, in both the short and long term; adaptive mechanisms, coping strategies and the pathological consequences of stress.Stress will publish the latest developments in physiology, neurobiology, molecular biology, genetics research, immunology, and behavioural studies as they impact on the understanding of stress and its adverse consequences and their amelioration.Specific approaches may include transgenic animals, developmental/programming studies, electrophysiology, histochemistry, neurochemistry, neuropharmacology, neuroanatomy, endocrinology, autonomic physiology, immunology, chronic pain, ethological and other behavioural studies and clinical measures.
