Radiation Measurements provides a forum for the presentation of the latest developments in the broad field of ionizing radiationdetection and measurement and publishes original papers on both fundamental and applied research.Traditionally the journal has covered methods that comprise solid state nuclear track detectors; spontaneous and stimulated luminescence (including scintillating materials, thermoluminescence, and optically stimulated luminescence); electron spin resonance of natural and synthetic materials; nuclear magnetic resonance (including ferrous sulfate and polymer gels), and superheated emulsions (including superheated drop and bubble detectors). Physics, design and performance of radiation measurements, including computational modelling such as Monte Carlo simulations, are of relevance to the journal, as well as studies of energy-transfer phenomena, track physics and microdosimetry. Measurements and calculations of fundamental physical data, such as cross sections, reaction yields and attenuation coefficients, are acceptable within studies of radiation detection and dosimetry.Applications of interest to the journal are: personal dosimetry (including dosimetric quantities, active/electronic and passive monitoring techniques for photon, neutron and charged-particle exposures); environmental dosimetry (including radon measurements where they introduce methodological advances, predictive models, or detailed and original maps of complete or unusual geographical/geological regions); cosmic and high-energy radiation measurements (including dosimetry, space radiation effects, and single event upsets); dosimetry-based archaeological and geological dating; accident and retrospective dosimetry (including activation detectors). Papers that present novel detection techniques and applications such as illicit radiological and nuclear material detection (including contraband interdiction and safeguards verification) are also sought. Review articles are periodically solicited by the Editors.

In addition to novel aspects of conventional concrete materials, the journal covers a wide range of composite materials such as fiber-reinforced cement composites, polymer cement composites, polymer impregnated composites, ferrocement, and cement composites containing special aggregate inclusions or waste materials. Original papers dealing with microstructure (as it relates to engineering properties), material properties, testing and test methods, fracture mechanics, durability aspects, composite mechanics/technology, modelling, design, fabrication and practical applications of these materials form the major themes of the journal. Provided there is sufficient linkage to properties defined at the material scale, papers concerning the behavior of structural components and systems, in situ performance, and field studies will also be accepted for review, as well as those concerning the repair and maintenance, serviceability behavior, and sustainability of structures made with these materials.The journal has within the above context several specific objectives. The aim of the Photoacoustics journal (PACS) is to publish original research and review contributions within the fast growing field of photoacoustics (optoacoustics) and thermoacoustics, which exploits optically and electromagnetically excited acoustical and thermal phenomena for visualization and characterization of a variety of materials and biological tissues, including living organisms. While some of the spectroscopic and photothermal applications have reached a mature state, many other research directions experience an explosive growth, in particular biomedical photoacoustics, which is currently considered the fastest growing bio-imaging modality. The wealth of investigated topics clearly indicates that this field has developed a broad range of tools for fundamental and applied research. The enormous recent progress is greatly supported by the advances in laser technologies, ultrasound detection approaches, development of inverse theory and fast reconstruction algorithms. This progress is also driven by a large number of unmet biological and medical needs that can be addressed by the unique contrast mechanisms available to photoacoustic (optoacoustic) methods. These include pre-clinical research and clinical imaging of vasculature, tissue and disease physiology, drug efficacy and treatment monitoring, optical anatomy and molecular imaging employing fluorochromes, chromophores and nanoparticles. Correspondingly applications span the entire range of biological and medical imaging including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neuroimaging, ophthalmology or imaging in immunology, diabetes and obesity, cell trafficking application and a multitude of other biological functions. The multi-disciplinarily nature of photoacoustics and thermoacoustics is also evinced by the growing contribution from chemistry and nanotechnology where a multitude of novel contrast materials and agents have been constantly developed, from nanoparticles and organic dyes, to targeted agents and genetically expressed markers.

The aims of this peer-reviewed online journal are to distribute and archive all relevant material required to document, assess, validate and reconstruct in detail the body of knowledge in the physical and related sciences. The scope of EPJ Plus encompasses a broad landscape of fields and disciplines in the physical and related sciences - such as covered by the topical EPJ journals and with the explicit addition of geophysics, astrophysics, general relativity and cosmology, mathematical and quantum physics, classical and fluid mechanics, as well as physics techniques applied to any other topics, including energy, environment and cultural heritage. The journal will be a new forum for: 1. the setting and improvement of standards, procedures and performance in: - experimental and observational physics: techniques and instruments, including laboratory protocols and similar best practice studies in scientific data acquisition, analysis, transmission and processing: - computational physics: numerical techniques and simulations, including technical performance studies and similar benchmark calculations: - theoretical physics: development and refinement of relevant mathematical toolsand techniques: 2. the progress, verification and documentation of research through: - important and substantial additional details and insights on existing work: - original research, by theoretical, experimental or numerical means, on specific or technical issues, in particular critical assessment of existing work: - relevant and independent theoretical, computational or experimental supportand validation of previously published results. To facilitate such aims and scope: - papers will be refereed regarding the quality and thoroughness of presentation as well as the clarity and soundness of details and arguments. - the journal explicitly encourages the submission of additional mate, rial that can be published as electronic supplementary material to accepted articles. The journal will accept the following article categories: - Regular Article- Technical Report- Review- Addendum(*) --- (*) Addenda (analogous to Errata) refer directly to a previously published paper, but update rather than correct published material.

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics exists primarily for dissemination of significant new knowledge in experimental equilibrium thermodynamics and transport properties of chemical systems. The defining attributes of The Journal are the quality and relevance of the papers published.The Journal publishes work relating to gases, liquids, solids, polymers, mixtures, solutions and interfaces. Studies on systems with variability, such as biological or bio-based materials, gas hydrates, among others, will also be considered provided these are well characterized and reproducible where possible. Experimental methods should be described in sufficient detail to allow critical assessment of the accuracy claimed.Authors are encouraged to provide physical or chemical interpretations of the results. Articles can contain modelling sections providing representations of data or molecular insights into the properties or transformations studied. Waves in Random and Complex Media (formerly Waves in Random Media) is a broad interdisciplinary journal that reports theoretical, applied and experimental research related to any wave phenomena.The Journal is relevant to scientists and engineers working in the field of wave propagation, scattering and imaging in random or complex media. Papers on theoretical developments, experimental results and analytical/numerical studies are considered for publication as well as deterministic problems when also linked to random or complex media.
