The field of biometric recognition - automated recognition of individuals based on their behavioural and biological characteristics - has reached a level of maturity where viable practical applications are both possible and increasingly available. Since the engineering of effective biometric systems requires integration of image analysis, pattern recognition, sensor technology, database engineering, security design and many other strands of understanding, the technological focus of the journal is diverse. IET Biometrics has a wide scope to account for the interdisciplinary nature of the field. While focusing on the core technological issues it also encompasses human factors, data security and database technologies, and takes into consideration the associated psychological and physiological issues. IET Biometrics includes papers that increase our understanding of biometric systems, signal future developments and applications for biometrics, and/or promote greater practical uptake for relevant technologies. Resonance is a journal of science education, published monthly by the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore, entering its second decade of publication. The journal is primarily directed at students and teachers at the undergraduate level, though some of the articles may go beyond this range. Resonance has a council of editors drawn from institutions all over in India, with a Chief Editor and several Associate Editors located in Bangalore. Each issue of Resonance contains articles on physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science and engineering. The format is attractive and easy to read, with photographs, illustrations, margin notes, boxes and space for comments provided. The articles are of various categories: individual general articles, series made up of several parts, concise article-in-boxes, classroom pieces, nature-watch pieces, research news, book reviews, and information and announcements useful to students and teachers. Each issue of Resonance also highlights the contributions of a chosen scientist, engineer or mathematician, with a portrait on the back cover and articles describing his or her life and work. In some cases, an article written by the scientist on a general theme is included as a Classic or a Reflections item. Some of the personalities featured so far are -- Einstein, Schroedinger, Pauli, Chandrasekhar, Raman, S N Bose, von Neumann, Turing, Darwin, McClintock, Haldane, Fisher, Lorenz, Mendel, Dobhzansky, Pauling, the Bernoullis, Fermat, Harish-Chandra, Ramanujan and Weil. Resonance invites original contributions in various branches of science and engineering and emphasizes a lucid style that will attract readers from diverse backgrounds. The Journal of Ecotourism seeks to advance the field by examining the social, economic, and ecological aspects of ecotourism at a number of scales, and including regions from around the world. Journal of Ecotourism welcomes conceptual, theoretical, and empirical research, particularly where it contributes to the dissemination of new ideas and models of ecotourism planning, development, management, and good practice. While the focus of the journal rests on a type of tourism based principally on natural history - along with other associated features of the man-land nexus - it will consider papers which investigate ecotourism as part of a broader nature based tourism, as well as those works which compare or contrast ecotourism/ists with other forms of tourism/ists. Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry has renamed as Journal of Energy Chemistry starting from 2013During the past two decades, especially in the last decade, under the influence of many factors such as political, economic and social and environmental aspects, the trend of the energy exploration, research and applications has been extensively extended on one side, and are taking place deeply changes in the dramatic ups and downs on the other side. It is again revealed and confirmed that competition and innovation are the driving force for the development of science and technology. In consideration of this situation, we decide after more than two years of preparation to officially rename the Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry as the Journal of Energy Chemistry from 2013.Aims and ScopeThe Journal of Energy Chemistry is a publication that mainly reports on creative researches and innovative applications of chemical conversions of fossil energy, electrochemical energy and hydrogen energy, as well as the conversions of biomass and solar energy related with chemical issues to promote academic exchanges in the field of energy chemistry and to accelerate the exploration,research and development of energy science and technologies.The Journal functions as a medium for reporting original research papers dealing with topics in the fields of energy chemistry. It is devoted to up-to-date progress in the following fields all over the world:• Optimized chemical utilization of both conventional and unconventional fossil energies• Research and utilization of hydrogen energy• Conversion and storage of electrochemical energy• Capturing, storage and chemical utilization of CO2• New materials and nanotechnologies related to energy utilization• Chemical conversion of biomasses• Chemical approaches related to photo-catalysis
The journal will also consider applications where health care provision is the focus. Coverage of veterinary topics will be included, and those with direct human health implications are especially welcome. The journal places special emphasis on spatio-temporal aspects of emerging diseases (e.g., avian flu, SARS), development of spatial statistical and computational methods, and novel applications of geospatial technology (e.g., GPS, GIS) for shedding insights on exposure and disease processes.
The journal accepts three different types of submissions:
1. Methods papers that outline new methodology in the areas of GIS, spatial statistics, exposure science, and/or epidemiology;
2. Case Study/Applications papers where recently developed methodology is applied to novel applications with a clear exposure/disease focus; and
3. Short reports where a) they are around 4-8 text pages in length b) they focus on an important novel development and c) the development should be capable of description within the page length. Case Studies progress reports in the form of 'what we have done so far' are not acceptable as Short Reports unless they comply with b) or c) above.

Pulmonary Pharmacology and Therapeutics (formerly Pulmonary Pharmacology) is concerned with lung pharmacology from molecular to clinical aspects. The subject matter encompasses the major diseases of the lung including asthma, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary circulation, ARDS, carcinoma, bronchitis, emphysema and drug delivery. Laboratory and clinical research on man and animals will be considered including studies related to chemotherapy of cancer, tuberculosis and infection. For the last 20 years, the Radioengineering journal quarterly has been publishing original scientific and engineering papers from the area of radio engineering and science.The nature of the Radioengineering journal is interdisciplinary. This journal is interested in covering a wide area of radio electronics starting from applied electromagnetism, wave propagation and antennas, continuing to high-frequency circuits and optoelectronics, and finishing with signal processing and multimedia, wireless communications and telecommunications and finally biomedial engineering topics. The journal can, therefore, present a wide view on all aspects of today's radio engineering and science, initiate a mutual inspiration between disciplines; and support their cohesion in the frame of complex radio electronic systems.The Radioengineering journal makes an effort to encourage a younger generation of scientists and engineers. The journal offers them their first publication opportunity and gives them their first experience in writing a scientific paper. Independent reviewers carefully review each submitted paper, and attempt to explain its stronger and weaker aspects to the authors in detail.Each June and December, the Radioengineering journal prepares special issues focused on selected topics of importance and current interest. In the past, special issues published in December were devoted to mobile communications, multimedia, utilization of MATLAB, advances in antennas and microwaves, electromagnetic compatibility, advanced electronic circuits, both analog and digital, from low frequencies to millimeter waves, metamaterials, optical free space communication, cognitive radio etc. The special issues published in June usually contain papers focused on a very narrow area of the radio engineering field.The Radioengineering journal is the member of the Sister Societies' Publications of the IEEE Communications Society. Since volume 16 (2007), the Radioengineering journal has been selected for coverage in Thomson Reuters products and custom information services; the journal is indexed and abstracted in Science Citation Index Expanded and Journal Citation Reports. The Radioengineering journal is covered by the Directory of Open Access Journals, is listed in INSPEC and covered by SCOPUS. That way, a good accessibility of the published matter is ensured.
