The Extractive Industries and Society is the one journal devoted to disseminating in-depth analysis of the socio-economic and environmental impacts of mining and oil and gas production on societies, both past and present. It provides a platform for the exchange of ideas on a wide range of issues and debates on the extractive industries and development, bringing together research undertaken by an interdisciplinary group of social scientists in academia, government, the NGO community and industry. Parenting: Science and Practice is a quarterly international and interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that seeks to publish rigorous empirical, methodological, applied, review, theoretical, perspective, and policy pieces relevant to parenting; contributions from the humanities and biological sciences as well as the social sciences are invited. The journal also publishes notices of books and other publications or media representations relevant to a scientific approach to parenting. Parenting publishes occasional tutorials that debut a new concept in parenting or explore the intersection of parenting with an academic specialty pertinent to parenting studies. The IEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society (J-EDS) is an open-access, fully electronic scientific journal publishing papers ranging from fundamental to applied research that are scientifically rigorous and relevant to electron devices. The J-EDS publishes original and significant contributions relating to the theory, modelling, design, performance, and reliability of electron and ion integrated circuit devices and interconnects, involving insulators, metals, organic materials, micro-plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect structures, vacuum devices, and emerging materials with applications in bioelectronics, biomedical electronics, computation, communications, displays, microelectromechanics, imaging, micro-actuators, nanodevices, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, power IC's, and micro-sensors. Tutorial and review papers on these subjects are, also, published. And, occasionally special issues with a collection of papers on particular areas in more depth and breadth are, also, published. J-EDS publishes all papers that are judged to be technically valid and original. All research papers benefit from rapid peer review and publication, and are deposited in IEEE Xplore.

New for IEEE J-EDS: Expansion in areas of display technologies.

The IEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society (J-EDS) has been committed to publishing papers ranging from fundamental to applied research relevant to the broad family of electron devices and has now extended its mandate to provide a home for timely dissemination of new results on all aspects of display technologies to meet growing demands. This replaces the recently discontinued IEEE/OSA Journal of Display Technology. It gives me great pleasure to take on this exciting task of Special Editor to expand the pool of manuscript submissions in displays to J-EDS as well as to bring in new areas encompassing the science and applications of displays. Papers are solicited in all areas of display technology including: flat panel displays (LCDs, OLEDs, electrophoretic, etc.); active matrix architectures, including flexible/foldable displays; quantum dots and quantum-LED and -LCD displays; micro- LED displays; 3D and holographic displays; electronic paper; micro- and projection-displays; materials, components, manufacturing, and packaging; on-pixel and off-pixel drivers, interfaces and display systems; modeling and simulation; reliability and testing; solid-state lighting; applications; emerging technologies and wearable including medical applications, encompassing displays, sensors, and devices; and human factors. Expanded coverage on display technology is scheduled for Spring 2019 that will consist of invited papers overseeing a wide range of display technologies. My aim is to have J-EDS rapidly establish itself as a home for display technology that is worthy of capturing the latest and greatest in the field.

The focus of this multidisciplinary journal is the synthesis of research and application to promote positive development across the life span and across the globe. The journal publishes research that generates descriptive and explanatory knowledge about dynamic and reciprocal person-environment interactions essential to informed public dialogue, social policy, and preventive and development optimizing interventions. This includes research relevant to the development of individuals and social systems across the life span -- including the wide range of familial, biological, societal, cultural, physical, ecological, political and historical settings of human development.The applied developmental science orientation is defined by three conjoint emphases. The applied aspect reflects its direct implication for what individuals, families, practitioners, and policymakers do. The developmental aspect emphasizes a focus on systematic and successive changes within individual and social systems that occur across the life span. This assumption stresses the importance of understanding normative and atypical processes as they emerge within different developmental periods and across diverse biological, physical, social, cultural and political settings. The science aspect underscores the need to utilize a range of research methods to collect reliable and objective information in a systematic manner to test the validity of theory and application. The convergence of these three aspects leads to a fostering of a reciprocal relationship between theory and application as a cornerstone of applied developmental science, one wherein empirically based, developmental theory not only guides intervention strategies and social policy, but is influenced by the outcome of these activities. Furthermore, the convergence calls for a multidisciplinary perspective aimed at integrating information and skills drawn from relevant biological, medical, social, and behavioral science disciplines. Given this multidisciplinary orientation, the journal publishes hypothesis-generating as well as hypothesis-testing research employing any of a diverse array of rigorous qualitative as well as quantitative methodologies - multivariate-longitudinal studies, demographic analyses, secondary analyses of large data sets, evaluation research, intensive measurement studies, ethnographic interpretations, laboratory experiments, analyses of policy and/or policy engagement studies, or animal comparative studies - when they have important implications for the application of developmental science across the human life span. Manuscripts pertinent to the diversity of development throughout the life span -- cross-national and cross-cultural studies, systematic studies of psychopathology, and studies pertinent to gender, ethnic, and racial diversity -- are particularly welcome. The journal does not typically publish pilot studies. Where appropriate, authors should be sure to include in their manuscript the power analysis or other analytic techniques that support the sample size and the nature of the sample selected for each study described in the article.Peer Review Policy: All research artilces in this journal have undergone editorial screening and peer review.

All http://ees.elsevier.com/finel/submissions to FINEL will be peer reviewed, and must have archival value to be suitable for publication. Reflecting the aforementioned emphasis on solution of practical problems, numerical demonstration of proposed methodologies will generally be considered a necessary ingredient for papers appearing in FINEL. Conversely, applications of existing finite element techniques to widely studied problems will typically not be favorably considered for publication, except where such presentations are particularly novel or enlightening, either with respect to the results obtained or the method of application used.

The journal encompasses any field where numerical solution procedures for initial/boundary value problems are needed to meet design and analysis needs. Aims & Scope:  The Journal of Counselor Leadership & Advocacy (JCLA), a publication of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International, provides professional counselors, counselor educators, and counseling students with research and evidence-based recommendations in topics that promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, advocacy, and excellence in counseling.  Through high-quality research, scholarship, and professional dialogue, the primary purposes of this peer-reviewed journal are to promote the development of leaders to serve in diverse counseling settings, bring awareness to professional and client advocacy initiatives, and provide a forum for discussing professional issues.  JCLA welcomes empirical, theoretical, and conceptual manuscripts focused on leadership, professional and client advocacy, and professional identity for counselors, counseling students, and counselor educators.  Because evidence-based practice is at the heart of the counseling profession, JCLA will occasionally publish exemplary scholarship related to evidence-based practice in counseling practice, supervision, and education. 

The Journal of Field Robotics seeks to promote scholarly publications dealing with the fundamentals of robotics in unstructured and dynamic environments. Articles describing robotics research with applications to the environment, construction, forestry, agriculture, mining, subsea, intelligent highways, search and rescue, military, and space (orbital and planetary) are encouraged. Papers in sensing, sensors, mechanical design, computing architectures, communication, planning, learning, and control, applied to field applications are encouraged. The Journal focuses on experimental robotics and encourages publication of work that has both theoretical and practical significance. Authors will be encouraged to implement their work and demonstrate its utility on significant problems with emphasis on the underlying principles. That is, the Journal will encourage reporting on what was learned in doing the work, rather than merely on what was done. Also encouraged are comparative or meta-studies and verification of previously published results as well as reports of extended field experiments that seek to validate autonomous systems in representative environments. Systems papers will be welcome but they must include analysis and insight into why approaches work and the challenges still to be addressed. Studies of systems that have been fielded over extended durations are encouraged. The journal will publish only articles of high quality rather than achieving a particular number of papers or a ratio of accepted papers to those submitted. The Journal will push the frontiers of electronic publishing in the following ways: 1. Exploitation of the medium via multimedia that accompanies articles . JFR will publish code, models, data, and animations (either synthetic or actual video demonstrations) as appendices to articles. Such appendices will not be a requirement for publication but will be encouraged. 2. Low-cost access to articles and appendices . JFR will be deliberately structured so as to reduce the costs of publication. Fast and easy access to the journal will accelerate the pace at which new results can be absorbed by other researchers. It will also allow access to new results by a large population across the globe currently not privileged to the infrastructure required to support robotics research and, in some cases, who do not have easy access to archival quality printed journals. 3. Reduced time to publication . JFR will organize the reviewing and publication process in such a way that a short turnaround time is possible. Reviews will be led by members of the Editorial Board and by notable researchers. Papers and reviews will be managed via a Web interface and a paid managing editor will be in charge of ensuring the process of submission and resubmission runs smoothly. Before being asked to review a paper, reviewers will be asked whether they have the time to review the paper, and if they do not, they will not be sent the paper. This is not, however, sufficient for acceptance for publication. Manuscripts should also provide a thorough literature review of how data of this type are currently handled in the literature of the application area, a review of any applications of modern statistical methodology applied to data of its type in the area, and justification as to why the work is important to the subject area, and provides gains beyond current methodology applied to the field. The methodology used should be modern and reasonably sophisticated (although not necessarily innovative) and should have few or no applications so far in the subject area literature.The intention in publishing such manuscripts is to provide an opportunity for readers (including those from the application area) to see the potential to revolutionize data analysis in the field. It is also hoped that such publication would provide an outlet for statisticians who may get little recognition in the statistics field for excellent, non-routine, clever, state-of-the-art work in subject areas.It is expected that the author will submit several suggestions for possible reviewers who are in the application area when submitting the manuscript.
