Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics provides a forum for the publication of papers on all aspects of engineering related to earthquakes. The Editorial policy is to maintain a reasonable balance between papers from researchers and from design engineers so that the Journal will be useful to both groups. The problems in this field, and their solutions, are international in character and require knowledge of several traditional disciplines; the Journal will reflect this. The main subject of the Journal is earthquake engineering in all its varied aspects, including seismology, tsunamis, ground motion characteristics, soil and foundation dynamics, wave propagation, probabilistic and deterministic methods of dynamic analysis, experimental behaviour of structures, and methods for earthquake resistant design and retrofit of structures that are germane to practicing engineers. It includes seismic code requirements and system identification, as well as supplemental energy dissipation, base isolation, and structural control emphasizing earthquake engineering. Papers on structural dynamics, which are concerned with other forms of dynamic loading but have relevance to earthquake engineering, will be welcome.

We strongly encourage recent Ph. D. graduates to submit their work to Econometrica. Our policy is to take into account the fact that recent graduates are less experienced in the process of writing and submitting papers.

The Pacific Economic Review (PER) publishes high-quality articles in all areas of economics, both the theoretical and empirical, and welcomes in particular analyses of economic issues in the Asia-Pacific area. Published five times a year from 2007, the journal is of interest to academic, government and corporate economists. The Pacific Economic Review is the official publication of the Hong Kong Economic Association and has a strong editorial team and international board of editors. The October issue, edited and published with sponsorship from National Taiwan University, focuses on economic policies, particularly those related to the Taiwanese economy, the Chinese economy, and cross-strait relations. Both theoretical and empirical research papers are welcome. The December issue, edited by the Center for Advanced Policy Studies at the Institute of Economic Research at Kyoto University, welcomes all areas of economics with a special focus on economic issues and policies relating to the Asia-Pacific region. Pain Research & Management will consider for publication original papers on any scientific aspect of pain, namely basic science and animal studies, and clinical topics, including epidemiological, social, psychological and psychiatric aspects, as well as reviews and case reports. Management topics, the economic aspects of pain and historical studies are also welcome. Papers may deal with specific Canadian aspects of pain, but there is no restriction in this respect and international submissions will be readily received. The Journal is pleased to accept articles in either English or French. Manuscripts are received with the understanding that they are submitted solely to Pain Research & Management and that, apart from abstracts, none of the material contained in the manuscript has been published previously or is under consideration for publication elsewhere. Foundations of Chemistry is an international journal which seeks to provide an interdisciplinary forum where chemists, biochemists, philosophers, historians, educators and sociologists with an interest in foundational issues can discuss conceptual and fundamental issues which relate to the `central science' of chemistry. The boundaries of most conventional dental specialties must be repeatedly crossed to provide optimal dental care for older people. In addition, management of other health problems impacts on dental care and clinicians need knowledge in these numerous overlapping areas. Bringing together these diverse topics within one journal serves clinicians who are seeking to read and to publish papers across a broad spectrum of specialties. Global Food History is a peer-reviewed, academic journal with an international scope, presenting new research in food history from the foremost scholars in the field.
