EJES presents work of the highest quality in English literature, linguistics and cultural studies from the multidisciplinary and multicultural perspective that characterises the study of English in Europe. Europe-Asia Studies is the principal academic journal in the world focusing on the history and current political, social and economic affairs of the countries of the former 'communist bloc' of the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and Asia. At the same time, the journal explores the economic, political and social transformation of these countries and the changing character of their relationships with the rest of Europe and Asia. From its first publication in 1949, until January 1993, the title of Europe-Asia Studies was Soviet Studies. The Editors' decision to change the title to Europe-Asia Studies followed the collapse of the Soviet Union at the end of 1991. It reflected the belief that countries of the former 'Soviet bloc' would gradually become more closely linked with both Europe and Asia, while continuing to present distinctive topics for research as a consequence of their specific experience. In 2007 the Editors took a further decision to extend the journal's scope to include China and other Asian countries that are or were under communist rule. Europe-Asia Studies is published by Routledge on behalf of the Department of Central and East European Studies, a centre for teaching and research at the University of Glasgow. 'Evolving Systems' covers surveys, methodological, and application-oriented papers in the emerging area of evolving systems. Evolving systems are inspired by the idea of system model evolution in a dynamically changing and evolving environment. They use inheritance and gradual change with the aim of life-long learning and adaptation, self-organization including system structure evolution in order to adapt to the (unknown and unpredictable) environment as structures for information representation with the ability to fully adapt their structure and adjust their parameters. 'Evolving Systems' solicits publications that address the problems of modelling, control, prediction, classification and data processing in non-stationary, unpredictable environments and describe new methods and approaches for design of systems able to fully adapt its structure rather than adjust its parameters based on a pre-trained and fixed structure. The journal is devoted to the topic of self-developing, self-organised, and evolving systems in its entirety - from systematic methods to case studies and real industrial applications. Food Additives & Contaminants: Part B publishes surveillance data indicating the presence and levels of occurrence of designated food additives, residues and contaminants in foods and animal feed. Data using validated methods must meet stipulated quality standards to be acceptable and must be presented in a prescribed format for subsequent data-handling. Food Additives & Contaminants: Part B has a restricted scope in terms of classes of food additives, residues and contaminants that are included, being based on a goal of covering those areas where there is a need to record surveillance data for the purposes of exposure and risk assessment. The scope is initially restricted to: 1. Additives - food colours, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives; 2. Residues - veterinary drug and pesticide residues; 3. Contaminants - metals, mycotoxins, phycotoxins, plant toxins, nitrate/nitrite, PCDDs/PCFDs, PCBs, PAHs, acrylamide, 3-MPCD and contaminants derived from food packaging. Papers reporting surveillance data in areas other than the above should be submitted to Part A. The scope of Part B will be expanded from time-to-time to ensure inclusion of new areas of concern. The Journal of Neuroradiology is well established among other journals in the fields of neuroradiology, radiology and clinical neurosciences that provide precise and rigorous information on diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology. Indeed, the Journal offers an opportunity to submit original articles, reviews, technical notes and letters to the editors (correspondence section) in English language provided that the methodology and scientific content are of good quality, and that the results will have substantial clinical impact and/or physiological importance. Over the past three years, the impact factor of the Journal has been consistently above 1.000 (1.203 in 2010). The new Editorial Board will continue working to increase the impact of the Journal in the field of neuroradiology and, more generally, the clinical neurosciences. To further increase the Journal's impact and to make its full content even more widely accessible, the decision was taken to exclusively accept peer-reviewed papers in English from now on (see guide to authors). Patterns of Prejudice provides a forum for exploring the historical roots and contemporary varieties of social exclusion and the demonization or stigmatisation of the Other. It probes the language and construction of 'race', nation, colour, and ethnicity, as well as the linkages between these categories. It encourages discussion of issues at the top of the public policy agenda, such as asylum, immigration, hate crimes and citizenship. As none of these issues are confined to any one region, Patterns of Prejudice maintains a global optic, at the same time as scrutinizing intensely the history and development of intolerance and chauvinism in the United States and Europe, both East and West. South Asian History and Culture offers a forum that will provide an integrated perspective on the field at large. The journal aims to bring together research on South Asia in the humanities and social sciences, and to provide scholars with a platform covering, but not restricted to, their particular fields of interest and specialization. Such an approach is critical to any expanding field of study, for the development of more informed and broader perspectives, and of more overarching theoretical conceptions. The idea is to try to achieve a truly multidisciplinary journal on South Asian history and culture, under which the established (e.g. economic history, politics, gender studies) and more recent disciplines (e.g. minority rights, sexuality studies) will interact and enmesh with each other. A focus will also be to make more mainstream the more recently developed disciplines in the field of South Asian studies, which have to date remained specialized fields, for instance research on film, media, photography, sport, medicine and the environment. A significant concern for this journal is to focus across the region known as South Asia, and not simply on India, as most 8216;South Asia' forums inevitably do. We are most conscious of this gap in South Asian studies and will work to bring into focus more scholarship on and from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and other parts of South Asia. South Asian Studies is the internationally refereed journal of the British Association for South Asian Studies (BASAS). SAS has appeared annually since 1985, and incorporated the earlier Afghan Studies, and has established itself as the UK's leading journal devoted to the visual and material cultures of South Asia, and the only major journal outside the subcontinent devoted entirely to this field. Its disciplinary focus embraces all aspects of visual and material culture, including art, crafts, archaeology and architecture, while it welcomes contributions on textual, historical, religious, sociological, ethnographic and other themes wherever these throw light on the journal's core areas of interest. Oxford Journals will continue to build on this solid foundation and ensure wider dissemination and further development of Tree Physiology.Scope of the JournalTree Physiology promotes research in a framework of hierarchically organized systems, measuring insight by the ability to link adjacent layers: thus, investigated tree physiology phenomenon should seek mechanistic explanation in finer-scale phenomena as well as seek significance in larger scale phenomena (Passioura 1979). A phenomenon not linked downscale is merely descriptive; an observation not linked upscale, might be trivial. Physiologists often refer qualitatively to processes at finer or coarser scale than the scale of their observation, and studies formally directed at three, or even two adjacent scales are rare. To emphasize the importance of relating mechanisms to coarser scale function, Tree Physiology will highlight papers doing so particularly well as Feature Papers.Tree Physiology welcomes submissions of manuscripts on research of non-tree woody and arborescent species (shrubs, vines, tree ferns, palms, bamboo). It invites submissions on new methods designed to improve estimates of quantities of structural components and flux of matter, energy and information relevant to the structure and the function of these species.Tree Physiology also welcomes those manuscripts on genomics demonstrating a clear link and relevance to tree physiology.Authors who prepared short, hard-hitting manuscripts are encouraged to submit them as Tree Physiology Letters that will be fast tracked through the review process with the help of the Editorial Review Board.

Topics that address new medical approaches (e.g., those utilizing nano materials to deliver targeted drug therapies) and environmental contaminates will be considered but are not regularly accepted for peer review because we believe the topics could be better served by the journals that specialize in those fields.

Genome Biology and Evolution (GBE) publishes leading original research at the interface between evolutionary biology and genomics. Papers considered for publication report novel evolutionary findings that concern natural genome diversity, population genomics, the structure, function, organisation and expression of genomes, comparative genomics, proteomics, and environmental genomic interactions. Major evolutionary insights from the fields of computational biology, structural biology, developmental biology, and cell biology are also considered, as are theoretical advances in the field of genome evolution. GBE’s scope embraces genome-wide evolutionary investigations at all taxonomic levels and for all forms of life — within populations or across domains. Its aims are to further the understanding of genomes in their evolutionary context and further the understanding of evolution from a genome-wide perspective.GBE is owned by the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE). Motivated by the continued growth of the field, SMBE conducted a grass-roots survey in 2007 to investigate the needs of the field regarding new publication outlets. The survey elicited a resounding response from members of SMBE and other scientists in the fields of genomics and molecular evolution. The key findings from that survey were that the field wanted an on-line only journal that was devoted specifically to the areas of genome evolution and comparative genomics and that was published under an Open Access model. The response of SMBE was to launch GBE in order to serve those needs of the field. The SMBE meeting attracts about 800 participants each year. As a reflection of the rapid growth of genomic technologies, about half of the science presented at each SMBE meeting is about genomics. With the help of the evolutionary expertise that is gathered in SMBE, GBE is positioned and designed to set the highest standards for papers in the growing field of evolutionary genomics.
