Under what conditions does "development" end? Under what conditions does "aging" begin? Can these conditions themselves be modified by intervention at the psychological, social, or biological levels? To what extent are patterns of development and aging attributable to biological factors? To psychological factors? How can the social and behavioral sciences contribute to the actualization of human potential throughout the entire life span? What are the implications of gerontological research for our understanding of the total development of human organism?These are some of the broad questions with which the International Journal of Aging and Human Development is concerned. Emphasis is upon psychological and social studies of aging and the aged. However, the Journal also publishes research that introduces observations from other fields that illuminate the "human" side of gerontology, or utilizes gerontological observations to illuminate in other fields.

The International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging publishes basic and clinical communications (research articles, review articles, technical notes and editorial comments) dealing with the design, development and evaluation of imaging methods used to study cardiovascular diseases; these imaging techniques include Magnetic Resonance, computed tomography, X-ray imaging, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. Clinical applications of imaging methods a used in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Topics include: multi-center or larger individual studies dealing with risk stratification and imaging utilization, applications for better characterization of cardiovascular diseases, assessment of the efficacy of new drugs and interventional devices. Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and technologies relating to video and digital image acquisition, processing, storage and analysis for cardiovascular imaging.

Vegetation Classification and Survey (VCS) is an international, peer-reviewed, online journal on plant community ecology published on behalf of the International Association for Vegetation Science (IAVS) together with its sister journals, Journal of Vegetation Science (JVS) and Applied Vegetation Science (AVS). It is devoted to vegetation survey and classification at any organizational and spatial scale and without restriction to certain methodological approaches.

The journal publishes original papers that develop new vegetation typologies as well as applied studies that use such typologies, for example, in vegetation mapping, ecosystem modelling, nature conservation, land use management or monitoring. Particularly encouraged are methodological studies that design and compare tools for vegetation classification and mapping, such as algorithms, databases and nomenclatural principles. Papers dealing with conceptual and theoretical bases of vegetation survey and classification are also welcome. While large-scale studies are preferred, regional studies will be considered when filling important knowledge gaps or presenting new methods. VCS also contains permanent sections on "Ecoinformatics" and "Phytosociological Nomenclature".

Web Ecology (WE) is an Open Access Journal issued by the European Ecological Federation (EEF) representing the Ecological Societies within Europe and associated members. Web Ecology publishes papers from all fields of ecology within a broad European context. It is a forum to communicate results of experimental, theoretical as well as descriptive studies of general interest to an international audience. Original contributions as well as short communications or reviews on ecological research on all kinds of organisms and ecosystems are welcome as well as papers that express emerging ideas and concepts with a sound scientific background. Papers must be original and not previously published in another journal. Nevertheless, a re-analysis or a re-interpretation of published data is possible. We also encourage to publish research already reported within master or PhD theses or research published in the so-called #!#!grey literature#!#!. However, we do not reprint such theses or reports. They always require considerable shortening and editing before to meet the standards of international publications in ecology.

ES&T Letters is a rapid publication forum for international brief communications (Letters, Brief Reviews, Highlights, Global Perspectives) on rigorous experimental or theoretical results of exceptional timeliness on all aspects of environmental science and technology (pure and applied). The journal’s aim is to quickly publish short, timely research of an urgent or emerging nature on complex environmental phenomena while simultaneously facilitating the solution of critical environmental problems.

Biostatics & Epidemiology is the official publication of the International Biometric Society – Chinese Region. The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of new statistical methods and the promotion of good analytical practices in biomedical investigation and epidemiology.

The journal has four main sections:

• Method and Theory – Papers should contain new statistical methods and theory that are motivated by real clinical applications.
• Applications – Papers should provide comprehensive examples from biomedical sciences and epidemiology and clearly articulate the appropriateness of the chosen statistical methods in addressing significant clinical or research questions.
• Software and Computing – Papers should highlight the utilization of software/computing algorithms in statistical methods related to biomedical science and epidemiology.
• Tutorials – Papers should be educational pieces or critical reviews of statistical methods in important and emerging areas of biomedical science and epidemiology.

Case studies of substantial scientific and methodological importance are also welcomed.

Church, Communication and Culture (CC&C) is published on an Open Access basis by the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross’ School of Church Communications in partnership with Routledge, Taylor & Francis. Dedicated to deepening knowledge and understanding about the dialogue between religion, communication and culture in the public arena, and based on comprehensive data analysis and theoretical inquiry, CC&C offers an international forum where researchers and practitioners can advance quality communication research on the Catholic Church and other religious communities.

CC&C derives its name from the reality that the Catholic Church is not simply one monolithic institution, but a network of various institutions. While maintaining unity through their creed and overarching aims, they operate in a variety of ways on different levels. These particular institutions within the Catholic Church have a multitude of specific objectives to carry out in concrete societies, with diverse peoples. The activity of “The Catholic Church” translates, therefore, not to one communication, but a plethora of multifarious communications. Consequently, CC&C aims to apply critical thought to the communicative dimension of the Catholic Church’s activity to engage society and promote dialogue with cultures. Content thus reflects theoretical inquiry based on empirical research and intellectual debate, rather than technological development.

The Journal of Cell Communication and Signaling (JCCS), the official publication of the International CCN Society (ICCNS), aims to serve as a forum for translational research. Research in Dance Education aims to inform, stimulate and promote the development of research in dance education and is relevant to both learners and teachers. South African Review of Sociology (SARS) publishes leading scholarship relevant to the South African sociological community and beyond, including original research articles, review papers, briefings and debates. Relevance is not defined in a narrow way and contributions on subjects of comparative or theoretical interest are welcomed. Moreover, the journal does not define 'sociological' restrictively, but as the study of society in the broader sense. SARS is the official journal of the South African Sociological Association (SASA), previously published as the South African Journal of Sociology and subsequently as Society in Transition. Anthropology and Humanism concerns that central question of the discipline: what it is to be human. AH welcomes contributions from all major fields of anthropology and from scholars in other social science disciplines, as well as the humanities. It seeks to bring out the intricate and contradictory processes of life in other cultures--including those of anthropologists. Whether working with life histories or demographics, poetics or nutrition, artistic expression or scientific writing, this journal strives to maintain a focus on the human actors themselves. AH values writing that delights, writing that outrages, writing that evokes the human condition in all its messiness, glory, and misery, writing that reveals the social blockages that are deleterious to our social and physical environment and is able to promote cross-cultural understanding.

To this end, Anthropology and Humanism publishes work in a variety of genres, including fiction and creative nonfiction, poetry, drama, and photo essays, as well as more conventional articles and reviews. The journal publishes semi-annually by the Society for Humanistic Anthropology.
