Journal Guide

The journal, created in 1904 by H. Le Chatelier, publishes high-quality peer-reviewed research papers in the field of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. It seeks to strengthen the dialogue between science and industry and emphasise the importance of technological innovation at a time when the metallurgy industry is challenged by issues surrounding energy, raw materials and the environment. The article types are the following: papers containing technical and economic information; papers on processes, new products and experimental techniques; review articles (state of the art on a specific topic) and original research articles dealing with technical, industrial or scientific aspects.

Microbiological Research is devoted to publishing reports on prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms such as yeasts, fungi, bacteria, archaea, and protozoa. Research on interactions between pathogenic microorganisms and their environment or hosts are also covered. The research should be original and include molecular aspects to generate a significant contribution of broad interest. Papers of rather specialised or of preliminary and descriptive content will normally not be considered. Radiochemistry (Radiokhimiya) was founded in 1959. The journal covers the theoretical and applied aspects of radiochemistry, including the fundamental nuclear physical properties of radionuclides: the chemistry, physical and analytical chemistry, and spectroscopy of radioactive elements and compounds: the chemistry of rare earth elements: the occurrence, speciation, and behavior of natural and artificial radionuclides in the environment: environmental problems of the radiochemical industry and atomic power engineering: devices and methods for radiochemical analysis: processes and equipment of radiochemical engineering: the recovery of radionuclides and the synthesis of labeled compounds: the use of radioactive tracers in chemical studies: radiation chemistry and after-effects of nuclear conversions: and the historical, philosophical, and educational aspects of radiochemistry, as well as book reviews and reviews of radiochemical conferences.

Review of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Studies is a scientific peer-reviewed journal encouraging new perspectives for research and analysis in economics and sociology on the topics of production, agricultural markets and trade, agricultural and food industry production, food consumption, the environment and natural resources, and rural areas and land use. The Review welcomes theoretical and empirical research, in English. In economics, only articles in English must be submitted. In sociology, articles may be submitted in French or in English but the publication in the end will be in English - if the article is accepted, authors have to translate it into English. 
The Review also invites submissions of replication of empirical results in the fields covered by the journal.

The Review of International Economics is devoted to the publication of high-quality articles covering a full range of topics in international economics including both controversial and innovative ideas and detailed contributions from other directly related fields such as economic development; trade and the environment; and political economy. Scientific Programming provides a meeting ground for research results in, and practical experience with, software engineering environments, tools, languages, and models of computation aimed specifically at supporting scientific and engineering computing. Scientific Programming brings together in one place developments that are found in a wide variety of journals, conference proceedings and informal society journals. Scientific Programming publishes papers on language, compiler and programming environment issues for scientific computing. Of particular interest are contributions to programming and software engineering for grid computing, high performance computing, processing very large data sets, supercomputing, visualization and parallel computing. All languages used in scientific programming as well as scientific programming libraries are within the scope of the journal.

The Journal of Defense Modeling and Simulation: Applications, Methodology, Technology (JDMS) is a journal devoted to advancing the practice, science, and art of modeling and simulation as it relates to the military and defense. Topics include: warfighting, training, test and evaluation, command and control, aerospace, peacekeeping, non-traditional missions, and homeland security, simulation design techniques, and federation construction process, simulation techniques, synthetic natural environment modeling, multi-resolution techniques, and High Level Architecture.

The World Economy is a vital resource for researchers, analysts and policy-advisors interested in trade policy and other open economy issues embracing international trade and the environment, international finance, and trade and development. The journal also considers related areas such as economies in transition and development economics, making The World Economy an essential reference for in-depth knowledge on and up-to-date coverage of international economic relations.

Socio-Economic Planning Sciences is an international journal devoted exclusively to research in this important, but under-represented area. It provides a medium for research that might not appear in more specialized journals, either because of the interdisciplinary or applied character of the study, or the mathematical/quantitative nature of the research. The journal thus serves as a focus for investigations that have hitherto appeared in widely-scattered sources and/or less-than-appropriate sources.

Socio-Economic Planning Sciences strongly encourages contributions dealing with applications of quantitative models and techniques to important decision problems in the service and public sectors. Of particular interest are accounts of such studies carried out in developing countries and economically emerging regions of the world. Review articles in important methodological and substantive areas are also of interest.

The principal criterion used in evaluating a manuscript submitted to the journal is: uniqueness or innovation of the work in terms of the methodology being developed, and/or its application to a problem of particular importance in the public or service sector and/or the setting within which the effort is being made, e.g. an emerging region of the world. That is to say, of the model/methodology itself, the application, and the problem context, at least one of these must be unique and important.

Additional criteria considered in reviewing a submitted paper are its accuracy, the organization/presentation (i.e. logical flow), and writing quality.

Representative of the topic areas included in the journal are the following:

Studies directed toward the more effective utilization of existing resources, e.g. mathematical programming models of health care delivery systems with relevance to more effective program design; systems analysis of fire outbreaks and its relevance to the location of fire stations; statistical analysis of the efficiency of a developing country economy or industry.

Studies relating to the interaction of various segments of society and technology, e.g. the effects of government health policies on the utilization and design of hospital facilities; the relationship between housing density and the demands on public transportation or other service facilities: patterns and implications of urban development and air or water pollution.

Studies devoted to the anticipations of and response to future needs for social, health and other human services, e.g. the relationship between industrial growth and the development of educational resources in affected areas; investigation of future demands for material and child health resources in a developing country; design of effective recycling in an urban setting.

The official journal of the Chinese Society of Oceanography, this publication provides a forum for research papers in the field of oceanography from all over the world. It features coverage from all branches of oceanography, including marine physics, marine chemistry, marine geology, marine biology, marine hydrology, marine meteorology, ocean engineering, marine remote sensing and marine environment sciences. Acta Oceanologica Sinica includes original research papers, review articles as well as research notes covering the whole spectrum of oceanography. It also features special issues emanating from related conferences and meetings.

Established in 2011, Advanced Energy Materials is an international, interdisciplinary, English-language forum of original peer-reviewed contributions on materials used in all forms of energy harvesting, conversion and storage. Agricultural Economics aims to disseminate the most important research results and policy analyses in our discipline, from all regions of the world. Topical coverage ranges from consumption and nutrition to land use and the environment, at every scale of analysis from households to markets and the macro-economy. Applicable methodologies include econometric estimation and statistical hypothesis testing, optimization and simulation models, descriptive reviews and policy analyses. We particularly encourage submission of empirical work that can be replicated and tested by others.

Bringing together significant work on all aspects of the subject, Behavioral Ecology is broad-based and covers both empirical and theoretical approaches. Studies on the whole range of behaving organisms, including plants, invertebrates, vertebrates, and humans, are included.Behavioral Ecology construes the field in its broadest sense to include 1) the use of ecological and evolutionary processes to explain the occurrence and adaptive significance of behavior patterns; 2) the use of behavioral processes to predict ecological patterns, and 3) empirical, comparative analyses relating behavior to the environment in which it occurs.

Chemosphere is an international journal designed for the publication of original communications as well as review articles. Chemosphere, as a multidisciplinary journal, offers maximum dissemination of investigations related to all aspects of environmental science. Chemosphere will publish: • Original communications describing important new discoveries or further developments in important fields of investigation related to the environment and human health • Reviews, mainly of new developing areas of environmental science • Special, themed issues on relevant topics.

Geology of Ore Deposits (Geologiya rudnykh mestorozhdenii) is one of the few special periodicals devoted to metallic and nonmetallic mineral resources and the conditions of their formation and distribution. Founded in 1959, it offers original scientific articles and reviews on a wide range of problems in theoretical and applied science. The coverage focuses on such problems as deep structure of the Earth, geodynamic processes and ore formation; distribution pattern of metallogenic zones and mineral deposits; geology and localization conditions of large and unique metallic and nonmetallic deposits; mineralogy of metallic and nonmetallic deposits; physicochemical parameters, isotopic characteristics, and geochemical environment of ore deposition; evolution of ore-forming systems; radiogeology and radiogeoecology, economic problems of ore districts and deposits development.

Geosciences Journal, founded in 1997, is an international journal which publishes geoscientific research articles in English. This journal is published quarterly by the Association of Korean Geoscience Societies which is established jointly by The Geological Society of Korea, Korea Society of Economic and Environmental Geology, The Korean Earth Science Society, The Paleontological Society of Korea, The Mineralogical Society of Korea, Korean Society of Engineering Geology, The Korean Society of Petroleum Geology, Korean Society of Soil and Groundwater Environment, The Petrological Society of Korea and Korea Geophysical Society. IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology publishes research and application articles on modeling, design, building blocks, technical infrastructure, and analysis underpinning electronic, photonic and MEMS packaging, in addition to new developments in passive components, electrical contacts and connectors, thermal management, and device reliability; as well as the manufacture of electronics parts and assemblies, with broad coverage of design, factory modeling, assembly methods, quality, product robustness, and design-for-environment.

International Economic Journal is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal devoted to publishing high-quality papers and sharing original economics research worldwide. We invite theoretical and empirical papers in the broadly-defined development and international economics areas.
