Environmental Communication: A Journal of Nature and Culture publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarship that examines theories, practices, and processes of communication as they relate to the environment around the world. As such, the journal serves as a nexus, a place of global connection and conversation, among scholars working in and across a variety of disciplines who explore how humans communicate about and within both natural and cultural environments. The journal also seeks to promote interaction between academic scholars and those who practice environmental communication, including community members, industry professionals, government officials, and others, through a number of special features, including a regularly published section devoted to practice. The journal is grounded in two theoretical and practical commitments: 1) symbolic and natural systems are mutually constituted, and 2) effective engagement with environmental issues requires reflection on communication practices and processes. Consistent with those commitments, the journal will promote the following goals: * Develop theoretical concepts, models, or formulations that uniquely explain or illuminate the material and symbolic dimensions of human interfaces with the non-human life world. This journal will seek to publish environmental communication research that contributes to the development of broader theories and ways of understanding how humans communicate with one another in various places, communities and cultures. * Present and engage in conversation multiple approaches to exploring environmental communication, including empirical, experimental, cultural, ethnographic, textual, ethical, rhetorical, and critical. This journal will open to publishing work that examines important issues (such as the promotion of 'just sustainability' in urban and rural environments around the world) and concepts (such as the 'environmental self,' the ways in which one's self-concept relates to one's surroundings) from a variety of methodological perspectives within communication and other fields. The journal also hopes to engage scholars from a variety of disciplines, with distinct perspectives, frameworks, and research findings, as well as practitioners in the field, in productive conversations about environmental communication concepts and practices. * Explore the tensions and possibilities between conventional academic scholarship and more participatory 'action research' that are experienced by many scholars who work in environmental communication. This journal will highlight, celebrate, and also interrogate 'pracademic' activities engaged in by scholars, teachers, students, and advocates, in communities urban and rural, in the United States and around the world. The Journal of Materials Processing Technology covers the processing techniques used in manufacturing components from metals and other materials. The journal aims to publish full research papers of original, significant and rigorous work and so to contribute to increased production efficiency and improved component performance.Areas of interest to the journal include:• Casting, forming and machining• Additive processing and joining technologies• The evolution of material properties under the specific conditions met in manufacturing processes• Surface engineering when it relates specifically to a manufacturing process• Design and behavior of equipment and toolsThe core interest of the journal is the processing of metals, but we also cover other materials, where the article is focused on the influence of the process on the materials, and where there are not other more appropriate dedicated journals. For example ductile forming of polymers if of interest, but the influence of polymer composition on properties is well covered in dedicated polymer journals.A typical article will examine the influence of process design, tool design, or process operating conditions on the properties of the material or the future performance of the equipment. Most articles combine appropriate quantitative analysis with well designed experiments. The sciences of materials, tribology and thermodynamics are well covered in other dedicated journals, so these topics are of interest to this journal only when applied specifically to give insight into the processing techniques used in manufacturing components. For example, processes for engineering surfaces are of interest, but the analysis of friction is well covered by specialised journals of wear or tribology.The journal's Editorial Policy defines our basis for considering submissions. Typical published articles will contribute significant new transferable knowledge in the form of (a) an innovation or (b) a new insight into material processing in the form of a transferable qualitative or quantitative explanation of a difference between experimental measurements and the predictions of existing theory. 'Transferable' knowledge applies to materials or processing conditions broader than those tested within the article.The Journal of Materials Processing Technology generally does not accept papers in the following areas:• Simulation with no experimental verification and/or which gives no new insight into the process• Experimental reports which do not provide a convincing analytical or physical explanation of observed behaviour• Topics that properly belong to the materials science literature. Examples include the synthesis of materials, chemical experiments and studies of material composition.• The analysis of material properties, surfaces or product performance without reference to the processing which caused them.• Statistical methods or techniques from Artificial Intelligence which treat the process as a black box.• The operation of equipment, without reference to materials (such as tool path design in CNC machining), or the management of factory systems.As stated in the journal's editorial policy, the Journal of Materials Processing Technology does not accept multiple-part papers, short communications or case studies.Papers submitted to the journal will only be considered if they have been prepared according to the journal's Guide for Authors.

The Journal of Occupational Health Psychology® publishes research, theory, and public policy articles in occupational health psychology, an interdisciplinary field representing a broad range of backgrounds, interests, and specializations. Occupational health psychology concerns the application of psychology to improving the quality of work life and to protecting and promoting the safety, health, and well-being of workers. The Journal has a threefold focus on the work environment, the individual, and the work–family interface. The Journal seeks scholarly articles, from both researchers and practitioners, concerning psychological factors in relationship to all aspects of occupational health and safety. Geomechanics is an interdisciplinary field dealing with the mechanical behaviour of, and fluid flow and transport phenomena in geomaterials (soils, rocks, concrete, ice, snow, powders and ceramics), and their role in diverse applications in geological, geotechnical, structural, earthquake, environmental, mining, offshore and petroleum engineering. The journal emphasizes contributions to the understanding of the complex properties of geomaterials through experimental measurements, and the development or novel use of analytical or numerical techniques to solve problems in geomechanics. Topics of interest in material behavior include instabilities and localization, interface and surface phenomena, fracture and failure, coupled chemo-hygro-thermo-mechanical problems, and time-dependent phenomena. Specifically within the scope of the journal fall the modelling and simulation of heterogeneous materials at different scales, including micromechanics, and any issue that bears upon difficulties encountered in modelling materials where the microstructure becomes important for macroscopically observed mechanical and physical properties. The scope also covers the solution of inverse problems including back analysis of in situ or laboratory tests, and stochastic methods. The journal is particularly interested in contributions that demonstrate the application of theoretical geomechanics in the solution of engineering problems.

The International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids publishes refereed papers describing significant developments in computational methods that are applicable and relevant to cutting edge scientific and engineering problems in fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, micro and bio fluidics, and fluid-structure interaction. Numerical methods for solving ancillary equations, such as transport and advection and diffusion, are also relevant. The Editors encourage contributions in the areas of multi-physics, multi-disciplinary and multi-scale problems involving fluid subsystems, verification and validation, uncertainty quantification, and model reduction. Numerical examples that illustrate the described methods or their accuracy are in general expected. Discussions of papers already in print are also considered. Papers dealing strictly with applications of existing methods must clearly identify and demonstrate the novelty of the approach and, in addition, add to the body of knowledge of numerical methods in fluids. The journal publishes full-length papers, which should normally be less than 25 journal pages in length. Two-part papers are discouraged unless considered necessary by the Editors.

The demand for health care and its cost remain central concerns. Even as medical innovation allows providers to improve the lives of their patients, questions remain about how to efficiently deliver health care services, how to pay for them, and who should pay for them. Innovators, providers, and payers in the public and private sectors are faced with these questions every day. One key to answering these questions is to understand how people choose among alternative arrangements, either in markets or through the political process. The choices made by healthcare managers concerning the organization and production of that care are also crucial. There is an important connection between the management of a health care system and its economic performance.

The primary audience for this journal will be health economists and researchers in health management, along with the larger group of health services researchers. In addition, research and policy analysis reported in the journal should be of interest to health care providers, managers and policymakers.

The International Journal of Methods in Psychiatric Research (MPR) publishes high standard original research of a technical, methodological, experimental and clinical nature, contributing to the theory, methodology, practice and evaluation of mental and behavioral disorders. The journal targets in particular detailed methodological and design papers from major national and international multicenter studies. There is a close working relationship with the US National Institute of Mental Health, the World Health Organization (WHO) Diagnostic Instruments Committees as well as several other European and international organizations. This international journal publishes original articles concerned with all aspects of refractory metals and hard materials.

The refractory metals comprise selected metals with melting points around 2000°C and higher, with similar powder metallurgical production and application. This includes the following metals and their alloys: Tungsten, Molybdenum, Chromium, Tantalum, Niobium and Rhenium.

Advances in hard materials continue and the journal will continue to deal with the production, uses and properties of the carbides, nitrides and borides of these metals and those of titanium as well as tools of ceramics, the superhard boron nitrides and diamond, and related compounds.

Papers are also published on the technologies of powder production (including their precursor materials), milling, granulation, cold and hot compaction, sintering, hot isostatic pressing, pulsed and other assisted consolidation, additive manufacturing, injection molding, as well as coatings on refractory metals, hard metals and hard materials. However, this does not include intermetallics and coatings on steel substrates. The characterization, testing, quality assurance and applications are also covered.
