Journal Guide

The journal Intellectual History of the Islamicate World provides a forum for research that systematically crosses the boundaries between three major disciplines of academia and research, viz. Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies and the study of Eastern Christianity. It encourages discussion among representatives of these and related disciplines, with a view to promoting a new understanding of intellectual history in all its facets throughout the Islamicate World, from its emergence until modern times and from different methodological perspectives. The Intellectual History of the Islamicate World covers such themes as philosophy, theology, exegesis, law and legal methodology, sciences and medicine. 
The Intellectual History of the Islamicate World is double blind peer-reviewed. From 2017 onwards it will publish three issues per year. In addition to predefined theme volumes, the journal accepts submissions relevant to its overall concerns but not bound to a specific theme.

The International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health serves as a multidisciplinary forum for original reports on exposure assessment and the reactions to and consequences of human exposure to the biological, chemical, and physical environment. Research reports, short communications, reviews, scientific comments, technical notes, and editorials will be peer-reviewed before acceptance for publication. High priority will be given to articles on epidemiological aspects of environmental toxicology, health risk assessments, susceptible (sub) populations, human biomonitoring, environment and health-related infections, occupational and environmental medicine, and public health aspects of exposure-related outcomes.

The International Journal of Nautical Archaeology is a forum for the exchange of ideas and research relevant to all aspects of nautical and maritime archaeology. Published twice a year in print and online, each issue of 224 pages contains peer-reviewed original articles, notes and book reviews. IJNA addresses the theory and practice of archaeology and related academic disciplines which investigate human associations with water and waterborne craft of all periods throughout the world, on seas and inland waters. The International Journal of Radiation Biology publishes original papers, reviews, current topic articles, technical notes/reports, and meeting reports on the effects of ionizing, UV and visible radiation, accelerated particles, microwaves, ultrasound, heat and related modalities. The focus is on the biological effects of such radiations: from radiation chemistry to the spectrum of responses of living organisms and underlying mechanisms, including genetic abnormalities, repair phenomena, cell death, dose modifying agents and tissue responses. Application of basic studies to medical uses of radiation extends the coverage to practical problems such as physical and chemical adjuvants which improve the effectiveness of radiation in cancer therapy. Assessment of the hazards of low doses of radiation is also considered.

Journal of Cutaneous Pathology publishes manuscripts relevant to diseases of the skin in a broad sense, with the aims of advancing scientific knowledge regarding dermatopathology and enhancing the communication between clinical practitioners and research scientists. Original scientific manuscripts on diagnostic and experimental cutaneous pathology are invited. Clinicopathologic studies will be given high priority. Manuscripts based on light and electron microscopy, histochemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology, tissue culture, embryology, molecular biology, and genetics are welcome, provided they advance the science of cutaneous pathology. Publication time will be kept as short as possible, ensuring that articles will be quickly available to all interested in this speciality.

The Journal of Drug Issues (JDI) was incorporated as a nonprofit entity in the State of Florida in 1971. In 1996, JDI was transferred to the Florida State University College of Criminology and Criminal Justice, and the Richard L. Rachin Endowment was established to support its continued publication. Since its inception, JDI has been dedicated to providing a professional and scholarly forum centered on the national and international problems associated with drugs, especially illicit drugs. It is a refereed publication with international contributors and subscribers. JMEWS (Journal of Middle East Women's Studies) is the official publication of the Association for Middle East Womens Studies and is a benefit of membership. Its purpose is to advance the fields of Middle East women's studies, gender studies, and Middle East studies through contributions across disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. JMEWS, which is published three times a year, publishes research informed by transnational feminist studies, cultural studies, modern historical studies, new forms of ethnography, and the emergent intersections of science and philosophy. Journal of Molecular Evolution covers experimental and theoretical work aimed at deciphering features of molecular evolution and the processes bearing on these features, from the initial formation of macromolecular systems onward. Topics addressed include the evolution of informational macromolecules and their relation to more complex levels of biological organization, up to populations and taxa.
