Emphasis is on modern instrumental concepts, though not exclusively, including detectors, sensors, data acquisition and processing, instrument control, chromatography, electrochemistry, spectroscopy of all types, electrophoresis, radiometry, relaxation methods, thermal analysis, physical property measurements, surface physics, membrane technology, microcomputer design, chip-based processes, and more. Readership includes everyone who uses instrumental techniques to conduct their research and development. They are chemists (organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, nuclear, quality control) biochemists, biotechnologists, engineers, and physicists in all of the instrumental disciplines mentioned above, in both the laboratory and chemical production environments. JAMA Neurology (formerly Archives of Neurology) is an international peer-reviewed journal for physicians caring for people with neurologic disorders and those interested in the structure and function of the normal and diseased nervous system. The Archives of Neurology & Psychiatry began publication in 1919 and, in 1959, became 2 separate journals: Archives of Neurology and Archives of General Psychiatry. In 2013, their names changed to JAMA Neurology and JAMA Psychiatry, respectively. JAMA Neurology is a member of The JAMA Network family of journals, which includes JAMA and 11 specialty journals.

JAMA Neurology is published online weekly, every Monday, and 12 print/online issues a year. The journal receives almost 2 million online visits annually, and nearly 3 million article views and downloads. Without any author fees, all research articles are made free access online 12 months after publication on the JAMA website. All articles are made free access on an html app called The JAMA Network Reader on the day of publication. In addition, the online version is freely available or nearly so to institutions in developing countries through the World Health Organization's HINARI program.

The Journal of Cellular Biochemistry publishes descriptions of original research in which complex cellular, pathogenic, clinical, or animal model systems are studied by biochemical, molecular, genetic, epigenetic or quantitative ultrastructural approaches. Submission of papers reporting genomic, proteomic, bioinformatics and systems biology approaches to identify and characterize parameters of biological control in a cellular context are encouraged. The areas covered include, but are not restricted to, conditions, agents, regulatory networks, or differentiation states that influence structure, cell cycle & growth control, structure-function relationships, cell fate and lineage commitment or assembly mechanisms in cells, viruses, or supramolecular constructs, and signaling mechanisms mediating transcription. The Journal of Molluscan Studies accepts papers on all aspects of the study of molluscs. These include systematics, molecular biology, palaeontology, ecology, physiology and many other areas, as will be seen from a glance through recent Contents lists. Where the topic is some aspect of applied malacology (for example fisheries, parasitology, neurobiology, biochemistry, biomedical studies etc), papers will still be considered as long as the mollusc is the principal focus of the study, and not incidental or simply a convenient experimental animal. While systematic papers are encouraged, descriptions of single new taxa will only be considered if they include significant ‘added value’, for example in the form of new information on anatomy or distribution, or if they are presented in the context of a systematic revision or phylogenetic analysis of the group. Papers in the format of Research Notes are generally methodological notes, or brief reports that are of unusually wide interest or importance; these are published as rapidly as possible after acceptance. Review papers on topics of general interest are also accepted. .

The Journal of the American Ceramic Society contains records of original research that provide or lead to fundamental principles in the science of ceramics and ceramic-based composites. These papers include reports of the discovery of new phases, phase relationships, processing approaches and microstructures that relate to ceramic materials and processes. The papers establish the links between processing, structure characterization and properties of ceramics, including modeling approaches that are founded on basic mechanisms. Materials Discovery aims to promote all aspects of the emerging field of Materials Informatics and the scope includes, but is not limited to, the use of informatics or data intensive experiments and computations as applied to:

• the discovery and design of new materials and/or microstructures;
• advancing knowledge and theoretical understanding of materials processes and /or mechanisms governing materials behavior;
• understanding the nature of data collection and generation in both experimental and computational studies; and
• methods to aid the analysis and interpretation of data and databases.
