Papers from the Institute of Archaeology (PIA) is a peer reviewed, open access journal that publishes research on all aspects of archaeology, museum studies, cultural heritage and conservation. We publish research papers and short reports. We also welcome reviews of conferences, exhibitions and books. We accept online submissions via the journal website. See the author guidelines for further information or contact the editorial team.

Run by doctoral students at the UCL Institute of Archaeology, the aim of PIA is to provide authors with experience in publishing articles early in their careers. We therefore place extra emphasis on the provision of peer review feedback and editorial assistance. We publish online as soon as articles are ready, so there is no delay in research being released and submissions can be sent throughout the year.

The journal is fully indexed, blind peer-reviewed and fully open access. The PIA would like to thank all of our peer reviewers and copy editors for their time and invaluable expertise.

ACS Applied Polymer Materials is an interdisciplinary journal publishing original research covering all aspects of engineering, chemistry, physics, and biology relevant to applications of polymers.

The journal is devoted to reports of new and original experimental and theoretical research of an applied nature that integrates fundamental knowledge in the areas of materials, engineering, physics, bioscience, polymer science and chemistry into important polymer applications. The journal is specifically interested in work that addresses relationships among structure, processing, morphology, chemistry, properties, and function as well as work that provide insights into mechanisms critical to the performance of the polymer for applications. Sample research topics that span the journal's scope are but not limited to:

• Polymer applications in energy storage and conversion
• Separations
• Membranes
• Adhesives
• Functional coatings
• Sensing
• Adaptive and reconfigurable materials

The journal also considers novel approaches to the synthesis of new and existing polymers that are designed for specific applications.

Acta Geotechnica is an international journal devoted to the publication and dissemination of basic and applied research in geoengineering – an interdisciplinary field dealing with geomaterials such as soils and rocks. Coverage emphasizes the interplay between geomechanical models and their engineering applications. The journal presents original research papers on fundamental concepts in geomechanics and their novel applications in geoengineering based on experimental, analytical and/or numerical approaches. The main purpose of the journal is to foster understanding of the fundamental mechanisms behind the phenomena and processes in geomaterials, from kilometer-scale problems as they occur in geoscience, and down to the nano-scale, with their potential impact on geoengineering. The journal strives to report and archive progress in the field in a timely manner, presenting research papers, review articles, short notes and letters to the editors. Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration is a scholarly double blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to promoting the study, research and enhancement of public governance, policy, administration and management in and beyond Asia and the Pacific. It welcomes contributions that address theory and practice from country, comparative and thematic perspectives. The contributions can be:

• free-standing articles (5,000-7,000 words)
• articles (5,000-7,000 words) in proposed or commissioned special issues or symposia
• discussions of new developments and trends (3,000-4,000 words)
• research notes (2,000-3,000 words)

The Journal’s target audience comprises scholars, policy-makers and managers, including those engaged in education and research in the expanding MPA and DPA communities.

Appraisal and review

Manuscripts submitted to the Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors and, if found suitable for further consideration, to double blind peer review by expert referees.

The Journal of Developmental and Physical Disabilities is an interdisciplinary forum for original research and clinical reports drawn from a variety of fields serving persons with developmental and physical disabilities. The journal publishes research utilizing group comparisons as well as single-case experimental designs. Contents include case studies of particular clinical relevance or that describe innovative evaluation and intervention techniques as well as reviews and theoretical discussions that contribute substantially to our understanding of the problems and strengths of persons with developmental and physical disabilities. In response to the need for increased clinical and research endeavors with persons with developmental and physical disabilities, the journal is cross-categorical and unbiased methodologically.

The Journal of Economics & Management Strategy provides a leading forum for interaction and research on the competitive strategies of managers and the organizational structure of firms. The Journal features theoretical and empirical industrial organization, applied game theory, and management strategy. JEMS is an important resource for economists in economics departments and in schools of business and management, including departments of finance, managerial economics, accounting, marketing, organization behavior, and management strategy. The Journal of Education for Students Placed At Risk (JESPAR) is the only academic journal to date which provides quantitative and qualitative research focused exclusively on improving the education of students placed at risk. The rapid growth of interest in medicinal mushrooms research is matched by the large number of disparate groups that currently publish in a wide range of publications. The International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms is the one source of information that will draw together all aspects of this exciting and expanding field - a source that will keep you up to date with the latest issues and practice. Japan Journal of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (JJIAM) is a Japan-based international forum for the expression of new ideas and original research across a range of mathematical topics. The journal publishes articles offering new insight into mathematical structures of phenomena in natural, social and industrial sciences, content linking real-world phenomena and mathematics through modeling and analysis, and research that impacts the development of mathematical sciences. The Journal of Nanoparticle Research is a monthly peer-reviewed journal that explores the specific concepts, properties, phenomena and processes of structures at the nanoscale size range. Coverage includes synthesis, assembly, transport, reactivity, and stability, and emphasizes realization and application of systems, structures and devices with novel functions obtained via precursor nanoparticles. The Journal of Orthoptera Research (JOR) is the open access, peer-reviewed journal of the Orthopterists’ Society. JOR publishes work on the insect order Orthoptera and its allies, Blattodea, Mantodea, Phasmatodea, Grylloblattodea, Mantophasmatodea and Dermaptera. Its goal is the dissemination of ideas and insights arising from the study of these insects. Papers published cover a range of biological studies of these insects including their diversity, conservation, and the control and management of pest species. Acceptable studies fall within the disciplines of cytology, biological control, morphology, physiology, parasitology, endocrinology, behavior, ecology, systematics, biogeography and taxonomy. The journal encourages comprehensive and synthetic papers and those utilizing modern techniques. Case studies of interesting phenomena are also appropriate, as long as they are contextualized in terms of their significance to orthopterology and entomology in general. Alongside original research, JOR also publishes review articles, short communications, and articles focusing on policy and management of Orthoptera. Two issues are printed annually, and members of the Orthopterists’ Society publish free (excluding color signature fees for images to be printed in color).

JPhys Materials™ is an innovative new open access journal for high quality research in materials science, focusing in particular on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches. It builds on the strength and prestige of the Journal of Physics series, which celebrated 50 years of publishing in 2017. The journal will showcase the most significant and exciting developments in materials science research and apply open science principles to encourage maximum collaboration, reproducibility and dissemination of research. The Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering provides a global forum for the dissemination of research in chemical engineering. The Journal publishes significant research results obtained in the Asia-Pacific region, and simultaneously introduces recent technical progress made in other areas of the world to this region. Submitted research papers must be of potential industrial significance and specifically concerned with chemical engineering. The editors will give preference to papers having a clearly stated practical scope and applicability in the areas of chemical engineering, and to those where new theoretical concepts are supported by new experimental details. The Journal also regularly publishes featured reviews on emerging and industrially important subjects of chemical engineering as well as selected papers presented at international conferences on the subjects.

Schizophrenia Research: Cognition is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal publishing articles on cognition in schizophrenia, broadly defined. The journal publishes original articles, concise research reports, brief reports, letters to the editor, and review papers. Submissions on all aspects of cognition in schizophrenia will be welcome, including clinical neuropsychology, neurocognition, social cognition, functional capacity, cognitive, affective, and social neuroscience, and aspects of everyday outcome as related to cognition. Articles that compare the impact of cognition and other influences on outcome in schizophrenia will also be published. Articles on descriptive characteristics, genetic influences, pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments, and neuroimaging correlates of these aspects of cognition are welcomed. The journal will also consider submissions aimed at cognition in conditions related to schizophrenia and will also consider articles on cognitive functioning as a marker of vulnerability in various potentially at-risk populations. The journal is online-only and articles will be rapidly available after their acceptance.

Contemporary Accounting Research (CAR) is the premiere research journal of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association, which publishes leading- edge research that contributes to our understanding of all aspects of accounting's role within organizations, markets or society. Canadian based, increasingly global in scope, CAR seeks to reflect the geographical and intellectual diversity in accounting research. To accomplish this, CAR will continue to publish in its traditional areas of excellence, while seeking to more fully represent other research streams in its pages, so as to continue and expand its tradition of excellence. Therefore, CAR welcomes interesting and intellectually rigorous work in all areas of accounting (including audit, financial, information systems, managerial and tax), using relevant methods (including but not limited to analytical, archival, case study, empirical, experimental, or field); based on economics, finance, history, psychology, sociology, or any cognate disciplines that help illuminate the role of accounting within organizations, markets or society.

Accounts of Chemical Research presents short, concise, and critical articles offering easy-to-read overviews of basic research and applications in all areas of chemistry and in allied fields in which chemical approaches play a key role. Each Account focuses on research from the author’s own laboratory, and they are designed to teach the reader about a research project. 

Each Account can be thought of as a “seminar in print,” as the authors tell the research story of their lab and give readers insight into both the science itself as well as the people behind it.

Accounts are only considered for publication by invitation, but prospective authors are encouraged to submit a Proposal which, if accepted, will result in an invitation to submit a full Account. The journal considers submissions in core fields such as, but not limited to:
