Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems welcomes all important research and expository papers in the area of hybrid dynamic systems, i.e., systems involving the interplay between discrete and continuous dynamic behaviors.Computer and embedded reactive control systems which includes discrete switching logic and event-driven interactions with continuous systems are ubiquitous in everyday life. These systems become increasingly complex and difficult to design and to verify while the requirements for dynamics performances and safety are also increasing. Philosophical Magazine Letters is the rapid communications part of the highly respected Philosophical Magazine, which was first published in 1798. Avian Conservation and Ecology is an open-access, fully electronic scientific journal, sponsored by the Society of Canadian Ornithologists and Bird Studies Canada. We publish papers that are scientifically rigorous and relevant to the bird conservation community in a cost-effective electronic approach that makes them freely available to scientists and the public in real-time. ACE is a fully indexed ISSN journal that welcomes contributions from scientists all over the world. While the name of the journal implies a publication niche of conservation AND ecology, we think the theme of conservation THROUGH ecology provides a better sense of our purpose. As such, we are particularly interested in contributions that use a scientifically sound and rigorous approach to the achievement of avian conservation as revealed through insights into ecological principles and processes. Papers are expected to fall along a continuum of pure conservation and management at one end to more pure ecology at the other but our emphasis will be on those contributions with direct relevance to conservation objectives.

Brain, Behavior and Evolution is a journal with a loyal readership, high standards, and a unique profile as the main outlet for the continuing scientific discourse on nervous system evolution. The origin and early evolution of life is an inseparable part of the discipline of Astrobiology. The journal Origins of Life and Evolution of Biospheres places special importance on this interconnection. While any scientific study which contributes to our understanding of the origins, evolution and distribution of life in the Universe is suitable for inclusion in the journal, some examples of important areas of interest are: prebiotic chemistry and the nature of Earth's early environment, self-replicating and self-organizing systems, the theory of the RNA world and of other possible precursor systems, and the problem of the origin of the genetic code. Early evolution of life - as revealed by elucidation of biochemical pathways, molecular phylogeny, the study of Precambrian sediments and fossils and of major innovations in microbial evolution - forms a second focus.
