Fibers (ISSN 2079-6439) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original articles, critical reviews, research notes and short communications on the materials science and all other empirical and theoretical studies of fibers, providing a forum for integrating fiber research across many disciplines. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Electronic files or software regarding the full details of the calculation and experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary material.

Function publishes original full research articles, but also short Focus articles that report an important new observation, based on solid evidence, but without the full exploration required for a full paper. All full research articles will be accompanied by a perspective article, written by an acknowledged expert in the field. A new type of Evidence Review article, quoting only original papers, will be commissioned from leading experts, but suggestions for such articles are welcome. All scientific content published in the journal goes through a comprehensive, quick, and fair review process overseen by experts in the field, but in addition Function will also publish editorials and opinion pieces. For the most up-to-date view of citation information relating to articles published in Function please see Google Scholar.

GAIA is a transdisciplinary journal for scientists and other interested parties concerned with the causes and analyses of environmental and sustainability problems and their solutions. Environmental problems cannot be solved by one academic discipline. The complex natures of these problems require cooperation across disciplinary boundaries. Since 1992, GAIA has offered a well-balanced and practice-oriented forum for transdisciplinary research. GAIA offers first-hand information on state of the art environmental research and on current solutions to environmental problems. Well-known editors, advisors and authors work to ensure the high quality of the contributions found in GAIA and a unique transdisciplinary dialogue – in a comprehensible style.

Healthcare (ISSN 2227-9032) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal (free for readers), which publishes original theoretical and empirical work in the interdisciplinary area of all aspects of medicine and health care research. Healthcare publishes original articles, critical reviews, case reports, research notes and short communications. There is no restriction on the length of the papers as we encourage researchers to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. For theoretical papers, full details of proofs must be provided so that the results can be checked; for experimental papers, full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Apoptosis is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to the rapid publication of innovative basic and clinically-oriented investigations into programmed cell death. It aims to stimulate research on the basis of mechanisms of apoptosis and on its role in various human disease processes including: cancer, autoimmune disease, viral infection, AIDS, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disorders, osteoporosis and ageing. The editors intend to encourage the development of clinical therapies against apoptosis-related diseases.

Aquatic Invasions is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal focusing on biological invasions in both inland and coastal water ecosystems from around the world. It was established in 2006 as initiative of the International Society of Limnology (SIL) Working Group on Aquatic Invasive Species (WGAIS) with start-up funding from the European Commission Sixth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development Integrated Project ALARM. Aquatic Invasions provides a forum for professionals involved in research of aquatic invasive species, including a focus on the following: • Advances in species identification • Patterns of species dispersal, including range extensions with global change • Population dynamics • Ecological and evolutionary impacts • Prediction of new invasions.

Bone Reports is an interdisciplinary forum for the rapid publication of Original Research Articles and Case Reports across basic, translational and clinical aspects of bone and mineral metabolism. The journal publishes papers that are scientifically sound, with the peer review process focused principally on verifying sound methodologies, and correct data analysis and interpretation. We welcome studies either replicating or failing to replicate a previous study, and null findings. Boundary Value Problems is a peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen. The main aim of Boundary Value Problems is to provide a forum to promote, encourage, and bring together various disciplines which use the theory, methods, and applications of boundary value problems. Boundary Value Problems will publish very high quality research articles on boundary value problems for ordinary, functional, difference, elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic differential equations.
