Emphasis will be placed upon articles that further the understanding and knowledge of toxinology.Types of paperFull-Length Research Papers: Articles containing the results of original research on problems related to toxins derived from animals, plants and microorganisms.Short Communications: Short communications differ from full manuscripts only in that the research study does not lend itself to an extended presentation. Even though brief, the Short communication should represent a complete, coherent and self contained study. The quality of Short Communications is expected to be as good as that of full articles, and both full articles and Short communications will be refereed in an identical manner. The form is identical to that for a full article except that the report should not be divided into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion. An abstract of not more than 75 words should be provided. The Short Communication may not be longer than five double-spaced typewritten pages (not including references, tables and figures) and should include not more than two tables of two figures or one of each.Letters to the Editor: These may be published if judged by the Editor to be of interest to the broad field of toxinology or of special significance to a smaller group of workers in a specialized field of toxinology. They should be headed `Letter to the Editor' which should be followed by a title for the communication. Names of authors and affiliations should be at the end of the letter.Announcements: Toxicon will only accept for publication announcements of great interest to toxinologists, such as notices of appropriate meetings and symposia and activities of the International Society of Toxinology.Reviews and mini-Reviews: Articles of interest to toxinologists which are published in journals other than Toxicon may be abstracted in the Reviews section of Toxicon. Readers who feel that a particular article or book should be abstracted in this section are encouraged to bring their opinions to the attention of one of the Review Editors. Mini-Reviews and proposals for mini-Reviews are welcomeMolecular Biology: Papers on molecular biological aspects of toxins are welcome. They can include cloning, expression, genetic and related studies. The papers must add to the understanding of the role or function of toxins. Papers providing cDNA sequences without any relevant conclusions are not acceptable. If cDNA sequences are included, authors must guarantee that the sequences will be deposited in a public gene bank before the publication of the paper in Toxicon.Clinical reports: Toxicon will publish clinical reports on poisoning where a new therapeutic principle has been proposed or a decidedly superior clinical result has been established. Since it was established in 1958, English Studies in Africa has published some of the key interventions in literary studies. Given its origins in the Department of English at the University of the Witwatersrand, its emphasis for many years was thoroughly Leavesite. Looking back over the succession of editions, though, one can trace the challenges to this orthodoxy, first in the name of cultural materialism, and subsequently from a diverse range of theoretical perspectives. The journal has emphasized, as its name attests, the study of world literature in English within African contexts, at the same time as it set about promoting the study of African literature worldwide. Its founding editors clearly wished to establish a conduit between Anglo-American and Southern African literary studies, and this ethos persists, though in a revised form.Despite this commitment to its context, however, English Studies in Africa is unique in its willingness to publish articles on any literary, educational or language topic that the editors adjudge will be of interest to its diverse readership. Its current editorial board is committed to publishing research that is theoretically sophisticated, thoroughly argued and which makes a significant contribution to the field. While articles regarding English-language education and the English language in its various African manifestations are welcomed, contributors should be apprised of the fact that literary studies remain the core concern of the journal. Although critical articles are our first concern, book reviews, review essays, creative non-fiction and interviews are also welcome. Initially, CMGH will be a bi-monthly publication, moving to a monthly publication in its second year. CMGH will debut its first issue in January 2015. Descriptions of high-quality immunological databases are also of interest.This Section will publish papers that present important advances to current practice or new "gold standards" for mathematical and computational methods and analyses in the field of immunology. The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is devoted to new experimental and theoretical developments in areas related to steroids. The Journal publishes a variety of contributions, including original articles, general and focused reviews, and rapid communications (brief articles of particular interest and clear novelty). Selected cutting-edge topics will be addressed in Special Issues managed by Guest Editors. Special Issues will contain both commissioned reviews and invited original research to provide comprehensive coverage of specific topics, and all articles will undergo rigorous peer-review prior to publication. The JSBMB publishes experimental work, review articles and letters (commentaries).Manuscripts relating to unsolved issues in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, steroid chemistry, cell biology, molecular medicine, and clinical medicine, are encouraged. Both basic and clinical areas of research are within the scope of the Journal, provided they address mechanisms or yield a functional explanation of processes involving steroids. A further aim of the Journal is to provide steroid-related tools, synthesis and analysis methods, and reference data.Contributions on case studies or descriptions of new compounds should provide new functional data. Cirugía Española is the official publication of the Asociación Española de Cirujanos (Spanish Association of Surgeons), which is an association comprised of the majority of Spanish surgeons from different surgical sub-specialties.

The Journal is the best platform for presenting technical and conceptual advances made in Spanish surgery. Furthermore, its pages have been giving an increasing amount of attention to the biological and clinical aspects of surgical pathologies, thereby transcending surgery alone, which was formerly the main focal point of this area of medicine.

The content of Cirugía Española is organized into the following sections: Original Articles, Review Articles, Case Reports, Image of the Month and Letters to the Editor. The articles are selected and published after rigorous analysis in accordance with internationally accepted standards. An English edition of the Journal has also been published since 2008.Cirugía Española is included in prominent online databases, including Science Citation Index, Medline/Pubmed and SCOPUS.

The development of clinical allergy as a discipline of scientific medicine has, until recently, lagged behind that of other subspecialties in internal medicine and pediatrics. The discovery of immunoglobulin E, the development of standardized protocols for allergy skin testing and challenge procedures, and concurrent advances in cell biology have all led to a major thrust by new data in changing the approach to the clinical management of allergic disease. The object of this journal is to publish scholarly review papers, with each issue devoted to a single theme, in an attempt to provide comprehensive treatment of a subject of critical importance to allergists. The journal publishes both experimental papers and comprehensive treatises placing new data in perspective. The ultimate objective is to help improve the care and management of patients with allergic disease.

Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics is an interdisciplinary journal exploring new ideas in continuum and quasi-continuum modeling of systems with a large number of degrees of freedom and sufficient complexity to require thermodynamic closure.
