Journal of Ancient Christianity

ISSN: 0949-9571eISSN: 1612-961X

The Zeitschrift für Antikes Christentum / Journal of Ancient Christianity (ZAC) is a refereed academic journal which aims at encouraging the dialogue between scholars of church history, history of religion, and classical antiquity with all its subdisciplines (classical and Christian Near Eastern philology, ancient history, classical and Christian archaeology, as well as the history of ancient philosophy and religion). In this context, ancient Christianity is understood in its complete prosopographic and doxographic breadth, with special emphasis on the influences of peripheral groups and related movements. The Zeitschrift für Antikes Christentum seeks to take into account that ancient Christianity developed through processes of reception and interchange with its Jewish and non-Christian environment, and can, therefore, only be researched in an interdisciplinary way. ZAC seeks to provide a forum for interdisciplinary exchange, and to act as a mediator between those disciplines that deal with ancient Christianity. In all these efforts the journal acknowledges its debt to Hans Lietzmann (1875–1942) as well as to the French and Anglo-Saxon historiographical tradition on ancient Christianity. Yet, it is not the publication of a particular school, but open to all who research this area regardless of religion, denomination or language. Each issue of the journal usually opens with a research report. At least once a year, important new findings and tendencies in epigraphy, papyrology, codicology and Christian archaeology are surveyed. A special rubric is dedicated to a report on new textual editions of Greek, Latin and Christian Near Eastern sources. In particular instances, there is a special section for smaller editions (inscriptions, catena fragments, sermons and letters). Occasionally, the Zeitschrift für Antikes Christentum not only contains essays and short articles, but also a discussion section with short contributions to a special theme, reports on scholarly meetings, and important dates. The journal concludes with an extensive review section. The Zeitschrift für Antikes Christentum appears tri-annually with approx. 600 pages in toto. In general, contributions should be in German, English, French or Italian, concluded by either an English or German abstract. For the publication of inscriptions and archaeological findings, illustrative tables (in general black and white) are provided. Greek and Christian Near Eastern scripts are not transliterated, and always provided with a German, English or French translation.

Journal of Environmental Economics and Management

ISSN: 0095-0696eISSN: 1096-0449

The Journal of Environmental Economics and Management publishes theoretical and empirical papers devoted to specific natural resource and environmental issues. To warrant publication in JEEM papers should address new empirical findings that are of interest to a broader audience, theoretical analyses explaining new phenomena or puzzles, or development of theoretical or empirical methods likely being useful for further research.Topics of interest include but are not limited to:• Analysis of environmental policy • Further development of valuation techniques and novel applications of valuation techniques to new data sets • Study of environmental behavior and responses to regulation • Analyses of exhaustible, renewable and non-renewable, resources and resource policy, notably the economics of fisheries, forestry and fossil fuels • Analyses of the carbon cycle, accumulating pollutants, such as greenhouse gases • Environmental problems in developing countries, such as degradation of natural resources and health problems caused by pollution • Topics of energy economics related to the environment • Topics of agricultural economics related to the environmentWe also welcome interdisciplinary work as far as it addresses environmental or resource economic issues requiring expertise beyond economics. Since JEEM is an economics journal, we do not publish papers that just combine methods of different disciplines but do not address economic issues in the first place. We usually do not publish papers that replicate standard empirical findings, or apply standard empirical methods to new but similar data sets. We usually do not publish theoretical analyses that are merely minor extensions or variations of known models and results. We do not publish papers that only marginally touch upon natural resource and environmental economics issues. In our review process, we prescreen all papers and immediately reject some. This includes papers we do not consider a good fit in terms of topic or methodology. This also includes papers that fall short of our high scientific standards. We will not reconsider papers already rejected for publication by JEEM, unless the editor in his or her decision letter explicitly leaves open this possibility.

Journal of Water Process Engineering

eISSN: 2214-7144

The Journal of Water Process Engineering aims to publish refereed, high-quality research papers with significant novelty and impact in all areas of the engineering of water and wastewater processing . Papers on advanced and novel treatment processes and technologies are particularly welcome. The Journal considers papers in areas such as nanotechnology and biotechnology applications in water, novel oxidation and separation processes, membrane processes (except those for desalination) , catalytic processes for the removal of water contaminants, sustainable processes, water reuse and recycling, water use and wastewater minimization, integrated/hybrid technology, process modeling of water treatment and novel treatment processes. Submissions on the subject of adsorbents, including standard measurements of adsorption kinetics and equilibrium will only be considered if there is a genuine case for novelty and contribution, for example highly novel, sustainable adsorbents and their use: papers on activated carbon-type materials derived from natural matter, or surfactant-modified clays and related minerals, would not fulfil this criterion. The Journal particularly welcomes contributions involving environmentally, economically and socially sustainable technology for water treatment, including those which are energy-efficient, with minimal or no chemical consumption, and capable of water recycling and reuse that minimizes the direct disposal of wastewater to the aquatic environment. Papers that describe novel ideas for solving issues related to water quality and availability are also welcome, as are those that show the transfer of techniques from other disciplines. The Journal will consider papers dealing with processes for various water matrices including drinking water (except desalination), domestic, urban and industrial wastewaters, in addition to their residues. It is expected that the journal will be of particular relevance to chemical and process engineers working in the field. The Journal welcomes Full Text papers, Short Communications, State-of-the-Art Reviews and Letters to Editors and Case Studies

ISSN: 0923-2508eISSN: 1769-7123

1887-The beginnings of the journalResearch in Microbiology is the direct descendant of the original Pasteur periodical entitled Annales de l'Institut Pasteur, created in 1887 by Emile Duclaux under the patronage of Louis Pasteur. The Editorial Committee included Chamberland, Grancher, Nocard, Roux and Straus, and the first issue began with Louis Pasteur's "Lettre sur la Rage" which clearly defines the spirit of the journal:"You have informed me, my dear Duclaux, that you intend to start a monthly collection of articles entitled "Annales de l'Institut Pasteur". You will be rendering a service that will be appreciated by the ever increasing number of young scientists who are attracted to microbiological studies. In your Annales, our laboratory research will of course occupy a central position, but the work from outside groups that you intend to publish will be a source of competitive stimulation for all of us."That first volume included 53 articles as well as critical reviews and book reviews. From that time on, the Annales appeared regularly every month, without interruption, even during the two world wars. Although the journal has undergone many changes over the past 100 years (in the title, the format, the language) reflecting the evolution in scientific publishing, it has consistently maintained the Pasteur tradition by publishing original reports on all aspects of microbiology.Originally founded as the " Annales de l'Institut Pasteur ", Research in Microbiology has been a leading source of up-to-date information in the field of microbiology for more than a century. It publishes papers based on original research in fundamental and applied biology of bacteria, archaea and lower eukaryotes. It covers all aspects of the microbial taxonomy, phylogeny, ecology, physiology and metabolism, molecular genetics and genomics, as well as the interactions between microbes and interactions of microbes with their environment. South Asian History and Culture

ISSN: 1947-2498eISSN: 1947-2501

South Asian History and Culture offers a forum that will provide an integrated perspective on the field at large. The journal aims to bring together research on South Asia in the humanities and social sciences, and to provide scholars with a platform covering, but not restricted to, their particular fields of interest and specialization. Such an approach is critical to any expanding field of study, for the development of more informed and broader perspectives, and of more overarching theoretical conceptions. The idea is to try to achieve a truly multidisciplinary journal on South Asian history and culture, under which the established (e.g. economic history, politics, gender studies) and more recent disciplines (e.g. minority rights, sexuality studies) will interact and enmesh with each other. A focus will also be to make more mainstream the more recently developed disciplines in the field of South Asian studies, which have to date remained specialized fields, for instance research on film, media, photography, sport, medicine and the environment. A significant concern for this journal is to focus across the region known as South Asia, and not simply on India, as most 8216;South Asia' forums inevitably do. We are most conscious of this gap in South Asian studies and will work to bring into focus more scholarship on and from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and other parts of South Asia. Peer Review StatementAll research articles in this journal will undergo rigorous peer review, with initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing. Disclaimer Taylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications. International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology

ISSN: 1750-984XeISSN: 1750-9858

International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology is the first scholarly, peer-reviewed journal that publishes critical reviews of research literature in sport and exercise psychology. Typically, these reviews evaluate relevant conceptual and methodological issues in the field and provide a critique of the strengths and weaknesses of empirical studies that address common themes or hypotheses. The reviews present summaries of, and conclusions about, the current state of knowledge concerning topics of interest, as well as assessments of relevant unresolved issues and future trends. Reviews of research literature on theories, topics and issues that are at the interface with mainstream psychology are especially welcome.Submissions:Although research on sport and exercise psychology is expanding rapidly, it is difficult to locate comprehensive, authoritative and up-to-date literature reviews in this field. In an attempt to fill this major gap, International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology (IRSEP) welcomes submissions containing substantial (up to 8,000 words in length) critical and integrative reviews of the research literature in sport and exercise psychology. Ideally, such scholarly papers should summarise the current state of knowledge about a given topic or question, provide critical assessments of the strengths and weaknesses of previous studies in the field, evaluate relevant conceptual and methodological issues, identify emerging trends in the literature and outline potentially fruitful avenues for further research. Manuscripts that contain reviews of research literature on theories, topics and issues at the interface with mainstream psychological science are especially appropriate for the journal. Equally welcome are integrative research reviews that propose theoretical connections between different areas of research within sport and exercise psychology and/or between topics and issues in this field and those in mainstream psychology. Papers of the highest standard are accepted over a wide range of topics (see forthcoming articles). Longer reviews may be considered at the Editor's discretion, should they be considered to make a substantial contribution to the field. Some feedback from those in the field:"As a mature discipline, sport and exercise psychology must critically review its output, not only to assess what has passed, but also to point to what is to come. International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology is a welcome addition to the scholarly journals in our field for vigorously taking up this challenge."Professor Tony MorrisVictoria University, Australia"I look forward to reading the International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology (IRSEP). For some time our field has been sufficiently advanced that there is a need for such a review journal 8211; one that provides concise, timely summaries of current knowledge on critical topics, reviews key methodological and conceptual issues, and supports substantive-methodological synergies. IRSEP articles should be of broad interest to students and practitioners. However, in an age of specialization, they should also appeal to leading researchers wanting to stay abreast of the latest and best research outside -- but related to -- their specific areas of interest. Inevitably, IRSEP should become one of the most widely read and cited journals in our field."Professor Herb MarshOxford University, UK"IRSEP is a new journal devoted to give an overview of the research in sport and exercise psychology. It will examine issues critical to the various topics of this growing field of research, by offering many stimulating ideas and additional knowledge. Its features are designed to address different theoretical contributions, as well as various approaches and concepts dealing with the interaction between psychology and sport performance. IRSEP will be very useful for the experts in the general field of sport psychology, such as scholars and students, as well as qualified teachers and practitioners." Dr. Aymeric GuillotUniversity Claude Bernard, Lyon8220;Given the rapidly expanding knowledge-base in the field of sport and exercise psychology, there is a clear need for a journal that provides in-depth reviews, meta-analyses, and research syntheses to provide researchers and practitioners alike with evidence-based overviews of the state of the literature. I fully welcome the arrival of IRSEP" Dr Martin HaggerUniversity of Nottingham, UK"With the information explosion occurring today, more than ever before a need exists for knowledge integration, where experts summarize and critically critique existing sport and exercise psychology literature identifying key findings and gaps in the knowledge base. Such reviews will help spur future research, advance conceptualization on key topics and help identify implications for guiding practice. IRSEP, then, will help advance sport and exercise psychology by providing a central location for critical reviews in the field" Prof Daniel GouldMichigan State University, USA"Sport and exercise psychology is in need of quality review articles to help summarize our knowledge and spur new research. IRSEP is just the ticket to fill this important void in our field" Prof Robert WeinbergMiami University, USA"IRSEP will provide critical reviews that can be hugely valuable to students, practitioners and established scholars." Professor Stuart BiddleLoughborough University, UK"8216;This new journal will allow the literature base for field of sport and exercise psychology to grow dramatically. Reviews allow scholars to quickly understand the current issues within any one topic; students, teachers and researchers will find the articles in this journal extremely helpful in their work" Prof Nanette MutrieStrathclyde University, UK"The study of the psychology of movement will be enriched by the availability of a journal dedicated to empirical reviews and interpretations of the rapidly-growing and widely-published empirical literature in sport and exercise psychology" Prof David E. 19: Interdisciplinary Studies in the Long Nineteenth Century

eISSN: 1755-1560
DOAJ Logo

‘A few scholarly ventures have defined the early history of peer-reviewed online research and publication in the humanities. 19 is one of them.’
Jerome McGann, founder of the Rossetti Archive and author of Radiant Textuality: Literary Studies after the World Wide Web (Palgrave/St. Martin's Press, 2001)

19 is an open access, scholarly, peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary study in the long nineteenth century. Based at Birkbeck, 19’s editorial team comprises Dr Carolyn Burdett (general editor); Dr Victoria Mills (editorial responsibility for the journal’s visual content); and Dr David Gillott (assistant editor with overview of publication processes). The journal was originally conceived as a means to extend the activities of Birkbeck’s Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies by making the high-quality, original scholarship presented at its Forum, conferences, symposia, and other events available to an international audience.

Launched in October 2005 as the first free online journal of its kind in nineteenth-century studies, 19 is a popular and valuable resource for nineteenth-century scholars across the globe. The journal has established a reputation for publishing field-defining work in both traditional and innovative ways, and it remains committed to this aim.

We publish two themed issues annually, curated by a guest editor, and consisting of a collection of peer-reviewed articles showcasing the broadest range of new research in nineteenth-century studies, as well as additional special forums advancing critical debate in the field. We seek to explore, utilize, and advance the digital possibilities of our publishing platform in presenting the nineteenth century to a wide readership.

In February 2009 19 aggregated with NINES, allowing readers to search, collect, tag, and share 19 content using the NINES collex interface. As academic publishing moves forward into the open-access future, 19 continues to innovate and pursue the highest standards in electronic scholarly publishing. In 2015, the year of the journal’s tenth anniversary, 19joined the Open Library of Humanities. Founded by Professor Martin Eve and Dr Caroline Edwards (both at Birkbeck), the OLH provides an ethically sound and sustainable open access model for humanities research.

Readers of 19 can choose to access articles in downloadable PDF form, or via a web browser as html pages. Our new site enhances 19’s supplementary features, allowing us to present a rich array of audio and visual material alongside more traditional format scholarly essays.
