Alzheimer's and Dementia: Translational Research and Clinical Interventions

eISSN: 2352-8737
DOAJ Logo

Alzheimer's & Dementia: Translational Research & Clinical Interventions (TRCI) is an open access, peer-reviewed, journal from the Alzheimer's Association® that covers translational research and clinical therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease, dementia and other age-related conditions affecting cognition, memory, and behavior. The journal will provide a rapid method for communication among a multidisciplinary clinical research audience involving the range of therapeutic interventions (e.g., drugs, biologicals, devices, and psychotherapeutic, psychosocial, and non-pharmacological modalities) from preclinical development to late stage trials and health technology assessment.

The focus is original, feature length research articles, systematic reviews, metaanalyses, brief reports, narrative reviews, commentaries, letters, perspectives, and research news that advance the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and cognitive impairment. The journal will publish on topics related to medicine, geriatrics, neuroscience, neurology, psychiatry, clinical psychology, bioinformatics, and health policy as they apply to preclinical and clinical therapeutics. It will focus on discovery, therapeutic development, clinical pharmacology, preclinical studies, and the application of neuropsychology, clinical ratings, clinical trials methods, neuroimaging, biomarkers, clinical research informatics, and other interdisciplinary approaches to clinical therapeutics and outcomes.

Given the growing number of specialized manuscripts in the field of Alzheimer's and dementia research, TRCI provides an expanded platform for the publication of clinical translational research. TRCI encourages the submission of manuscripts that describe preclinical research with a potential for clinical application, research from early human experimentation (experimental medicine) that may advance clinical treatment and prevention of Alzheimer pathology, neurodegeneration, and cognitive impairment.

Like Alzheimer's & Dementia, TRCI will publish manuscripts describing public health research with the potential for application for disease prevention or clinical therapeutics that bridges the laboratory and clinical settings, and laboratory studies of novel therapeutic interventions and new treatment paradigms. Expanding on the growing number of submissions to Alzheimer's & Dementia, TRCI will provide a rapid communication vehicle for manuscripts that focus on translation and clinical research methods, procedures, protocols, analytical approaches and regulatory science.

ACS Chemical Health & Safety

ISSN: 1871-5532eISSN: 1878-0504

While safety permeates all ACS journals, it benefits from its preeminence in ACS Chemical Health & Safety where its authors influence chemical safety and guide tomorrow’s science. Chemical safety research can be transformational and innovative, and it can also focus on practice and be narrowly scoped. This includes foundational datasets or variations on well-studied themes because they hold value to those working with hazardous materials. ACS Chemical Health & Safety provides the opportunity to publish across all these areas. As a discipline, chemical health and safety does not limit itself to laboratories and chemical facilities, and our authors are more than just chemists and chemical engineers; they are scientists with broad research backgrounds and members of the public from many disciplines, including environmental safety and health professionals, industrial hygienists, public health professionals, safety policy makers, human factors specialists, and more.

Refer to Author Guidelines for detailed topic lists. Sample topics that span the journal's scope include:

  • Fundamental chemical safety research and datasets
  • Chemical health safety and security warnings
  • Chemical risk assessment and management for all settings (e.g., laboratory, industrial, educational, public spaces, etc.)
  • Other topics that influence chemical safety and guide tomorrow’s science (e.g., occupational safety, regulatory, emergency response, training/education, etc.)

Manuscripts relating to commercial products are welcome, provided that they are not advertisements.

Topics that address new medical approaches (e.g., those utilizing nano materials to deliver targeted drug therapies) and environmental contaminates will be considered but are not regularly accepted for peer review because we believe the topics could be better served by the journals that specialize in those fields.

All manuscripts are subject to critical, anonymous peer review. The final decision relating to a manuscript’s suitability for the journal rests solely with the Editor.

Evaluation and Program Planning

ISSN: 0149-7189

Purpose and Intent of the JournalEvaluation and Program Planning is based on the principle that the techniques and methods of evaluation and planning transcend the boundaries of specific fields and that relevant contributions to these areas come from people representing many different positions, intellectual traditions, and interests. In order to further the development of evaluation and planning, we publish articles from the private and public sectors in a wide range of areas: organizational development and behavior, training, planning, human resource development, health and mental, social services, mental retardation, corrections, substance abuse, and education. The primary goals of the journal are to assist evaluators and planners to improve the practice of their professions, to develop their skills and to improve their knowledge base.Types of Articles PublishedWe publish articles, "special issues" (usually a section of an issue), and book reviews. Articles are of two types: 1) reports on specific evaluation or planning efforts, and 2) dicussions of issues relevant to the conduct of evaluation and planning.Reports on individual evaluations should include presentation of the evaluation setting, design, analysis and results. Because of our focus and philosophy, however, we also want a specific section devoted to "lessons learned". This section should contain advice to other evaluators about how you would have acted differently if you could do it all over again. The advice may involve methodology, how the evaluation was implemented or conducted, evaluation utilization tactics, or any other wisdom that you think could benefit your colleagues. More general articles should provide information relevant to the evaluator/planner's work. This might include theories in evaluation, literature reviews, critiques of instruments, or discussions of fiscal, legislative, legal or ethical issues affecting evaluation or planning.Special issues are groups of articles which cover a particular topic in depth. They are organized by "special issue editors" who are willing to conceptualize the topic, find contributors, set up a quality control process, and deliver the material. Often several editors share responsibility for these tasks. Suggestions for special issues are encouraged.Book reviews cover any area of social science or public policy which may interest evaluators and planners. As with special issues, suggestions for books and book reviewers are encouraged.
