Insurance: Mathematics and Economics is an international journal that intends to strengthen communication between individuals and groups who produce and apply research results in insurance and finance, aiming to integrate the currently fragmented research in both fields. The journal feels a particular obligation to facilitate closer cooperation between those who carry out research on the one side and practicing actuaries who are interested in the implementation of the results on the other. To this purpose, Insurance: Mathematics and Economics publishes high quality papers of international interest, concerned with either the theory of insurance mathematics and economics or the inventive application of it. Papers that combine several of these aspects are particularly welcome. The subject matter of the journal includes the theory, models and computational methods of life insurance (including pensions systems, social insurance, and health insurance), of non-life insurance, of reinsurance and other risk-sharing arrangements, as well as of risk management. Of special interest are also its interactions with financial modeling. It also includes innovative insurance applications of results from other fields, such as probability and statistics, computer science and numerical analysis, economics, operations research and management science.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Advanced doctoral students are invited to participate in JFC's reviewer-in-training program. The reviewer-in-training will serve as the fourth reviewer of a manuscript. He/she will be asked to review approximately three manuscripts in an 18-month period. The editorial decision and reviews are then shared with the novice reviewer, providing the trainee the opportunity to see how his/her review compared to those of others. If the reviews are strong, constructive, and prompt, then the reviewers-in-training will become part of the ad-hoc review pool after the three review, 18-month probationary period. For questions or to participate, please contact the editor-elect. Peer Review Statement: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by a minimum of two anonymous referees.

The Journal of Texture Studies is a peer-reviewed international journal historically specialized in the texture and sensory perception of food and other consumer products. The journal was first published in 1969 and has been the primary source for disseminating advances in all sciences related to physical characterization and sensory perception of texture, in particular in areas such as food rheology and microstructure, tactile senses and texture perception, texture features and material attributes (composition, structure, and processing), food oral consumption, and studies associated with eating and sensory appreciation. With the ever expanding research interests of texture studies and increasing cross-disciplinary research with the allied health industries, the Journal has redefined its scope to better reflect the broadened research activities and interests associated with texture and sensory perception. Recent developments in the discipline reveal a greater awareness of the essential role of oral and brain processes in texture and perception. Beyond the traditional subject matter of the journal, the editors welcome research articles, research notes, review papers, and discussion papers from contributors of food physics, oral physiology, sensory psychology, and other relevant disciplines. Some key areas/topics includes (but not limited to):• Rheology, fracture mechanics, and microstructure in relation to texture, flavor and processing• Modeling and simulation of eating processes• Oral receptors and texture perception• Oral tribology• Food-saliva interactions• Measuring and quantifying texture attributes instrumentally and by panels• Novel techniques and optimization of instrumental tests• Psychophysics and psychorheology• Receptor responses and sensory perception in the brain• Food design and engineering for enhanced oral experience and for vulnerable consumersThe Journal also accepts reviews of books particularly pertinent to the field.

Migration is a multi-dimensional, multifaceted and complex global phenomenon that affects every country in the world. Almost all sovereign countries in the world are either points of origin, transit points or destination countries for migrants, often combinations of all three or any two, at any point of time.
A new journal in 2012, Migration & Development invites contributions to highlight the various facets of international migration beyond the conventional lines such as the migration-development nexus, to borderless migration, refugees, return migration, labour laws, policy changes and the implications of all of them for both the sending and receiving countries. The journal aims to:
• broaden the understanding of different types of migration, official and unauthorized, and their contribution to the demographic, social and economic changes both in the countries of origin and destination.
• examine the economic implications of remittances, and their social and psychological costs on different segments of the population (children, women and the elderly)
• explore cross-border migration – the processes, magnitudes and its implications
• understand the health implications of international migration, particularly for the countries of origin – from the emergence of epidemics and other communicable diseases, their control and cure to the treatment of life-style diseases such as hypertension, cardiovascular ailments and diabetes.
• stimulate studies on problems faced by the migrants in the receiving countries, and both the negative and positive impact of migrants in the receiving countries in different parts of the world.
Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology was established in 1974 to meet the demand for integrated publication on all aspects related to the biochemical effects, synthesis and secretions of extracellular signals (hormones, neurotransmitters, etc.) and to the understanding of cellular regulatory mechanisms involved in hormonal control. The journal is fulfilling this aim by publishing full-length original research papers, rapid papers, invited reviews, At the Cutting Edge essays, and book reviews. The scope encompasses all subjects related to biochemical and molecular aspects of endocrine research and cell regulation. These include: (1) mechanisms of action of extracellular signals (hormones, neurotransmitters, etc.), (2) interaction of these factors with receptors, (3) generation, action and role of intracellular signals such as cyclic nucleotides and calcium, (4) hormone-regulated gene expression, (5) structure and physicochemical properties of hormones, hormone receptors and other hormone-binding components, (6) synthesis, secretion, metabolism and inactivation of hormones, neurotransmitters, etc. (7) hormonal control of differentiation, (8) related control mechanisms in non-mammalian systems, (9) methodological and theoretical aspects related to hormonal control processes, (10) clinical studies as far as they throw new light on basic research in this field, (11) control of intermediary metabolism at the cellular level, (12) ultrastructural aspects related to hormone secretion and action. Please bookmark this URL: http://www.elsevier.com/locate/mceUS National Institutes of Health (NIH) voluntary posting ("Public Access") policyMolecular and Cellular Endocrinology and Elsevier facilitate the author's response to the NIH Public Access Policy. Mutation Research: Fundamental and Molecular Mechanisms of Mutagenesis broadly encompasses all aspects of research that address the detection of mutations, the mechanisms by which mutations in genes and chromosomes arise, and the modulation of mutagenesis by mutation avoidance pathways such as DNA repair, cell cycle control and apoptosis. It includes the role of genetic variation in the genesis and manifestation of mutations, ranging from the variable manner in which xenobiotics are metabolized to variations in the capacity of cells to replicate and repair damaged DNA. It also includes the contributions of these mechanisms, when perturbed, to animal disease models and to human disease, with particular emphasis on carcinogenic mechanisms. The Journal will publish articles on the genesis of aneuploidy and isodisomy, including the roles played by recombination, cell cycle checkpoints, spindle microtubules, centrosomes and kinetocore proteins, and agents that might disrupt them. Submission of appropriate epidemiological studies as well as consequences, including methods for high throughput SNP detection, whole genome and exonic sequencing, DNA microarrays, RNAseq approaches and proteomics are welcome. Submission of preliminary epidemiological studies that associate SNPs with a phenotype but provide no mechanistic insight is discouraged. The broader scope of the journal is a reflection of the rapid advances in the field of mutation research and the recognition that understanding of the mutagenic process requires full knowledge of the cellular response to DNA damage including DNA repair, cell cycle checkpoint arrest and apoptosis.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more.
