In the past few years the fields of infinite dimensional analysis and quantum probability have undergone increasingly significant developments and have found many new applications, in particular, to classical probability and to different branches of physics. The number of first-class papers in these fields has grown at the same rate. This is currently the only journal which is devoted to these fields.It constitutes an essential and central point of reference for the large number of mathematicians, mathematical physicists and other scientists who have been drawn into these areas. Both fields have strong interdisciplinary nature, with deep connection to, for example, classical probability, stochastic analysis, mathematical physics, operator algebras, irreversibility, ergodic theory and dynamical systems, quantum groups, classical and quantum stochastic geometry, quantum chaos, Dirichlet forms, harmonic analysis, quantum measurement, quantum computer, etc. The journal reflects this interdisciplinarity and welcomes high quality papers in all such related fields, particularly those which reveal connections with the main fields of this journal.The principal objective of this journal is to provide an up-to-date overview of the state-of-the-art in its fields of competence.Special issues devoted to single topic of particular current interest will also be published in this journal.

Geomechanics is an interdisciplinary field dealing with the mechanical behaviour of, and fluid flow and transport phenomena in geomaterials (soils, rocks, concrete, ice, snow, powders and ceramics), and their role in diverse applications in geological, geotechnical, structural, earthquake, environmental, mining, offshore and petroleum engineering. The journal emphasizes contributions to the understanding of the complex properties of geomaterials through experimental measurements, and the development or novel use of analytical or numerical techniques to solve problems in geomechanics. Topics of interest in material behavior include instabilities and localization, interface and surface phenomena, fracture and failure, coupled chemo-hygro-thermo-mechanical problems, and time-dependent phenomena. Specifically within the scope of the journal fall the modelling and simulation of heterogeneous materials at different scales, including micromechanics, and any issue that bears upon difficulties encountered in modelling materials where the microstructure becomes important for macroscopically observed mechanical and physical properties. The scope also covers the solution of inverse problems including back analysis of in situ or laboratory tests, and stochastic methods. The journal is particularly interested in contributions that demonstrate the application of theoretical geomechanics in the solution of engineering problems.

The International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids publishes refereed papers describing significant developments in computational methods that are applicable and relevant to cutting edge scientific and engineering problems in fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, micro and bio fluidics, and fluid-structure interaction. Numerical methods for solving ancillary equations, such as transport and advection and diffusion, are also relevant. The Editors encourage contributions in the areas of multi-physics, multi-disciplinary and multi-scale problems involving fluid subsystems, verification and validation, uncertainty quantification, and model reduction. Numerical examples that illustrate the described methods or their accuracy are in general expected. Discussions of papers already in print are also considered. Papers dealing strictly with applications of existing methods must clearly identify and demonstrate the novelty of the approach and, in addition, add to the body of knowledge of numerical methods in fluids. The journal publishes full-length papers, which should normally be less than 25 journal pages in length. Two-part papers are discouraged unless considered necessary by the Editors.

The International Journal of Psychophysiology is the official journal of the International Organization of Psychophysiology, and provides a respected forum for the publication of high quality original contributions on all aspects of psychophysiology. The journal is interdisciplinary and aims to integrate the neurosciences and behavioral sciences. Empirical, theoretical, and review articles are encouraged in the following areas:• Cerebral psychophysiology: including functional brain mapping and neuroimaging with Event-Related Potentials (ERPs), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and Electroencephalographic studies.• Autonomic functions: including bilateral electrodermal activity, pupillometry and blood volume changes.• Cardiovascular Psychophysiology:including studies of blood pressure, cardiac functioning and respiration.• Somatic psychophysiology: including muscle activity, eye movements and eye blinks.Manuscripts will detail the study of physiological measures such as the ones mentioned, or others, along with a variety of behavioral measures that may include sensation and perception, learning, memory, evolution and development of behaviour, motivation and emotion, aggression and defence, interhemispheric relations, information processing, sleep, stress, psychopharmacology and psychophysiological disorders.Also considered will be papers on Clinical Psychophysiology (cognitive, affective and psychotic disorders and psychopharmacology), including applied Psychophysiology (eg, ergonomics) and effects of behavior on immune function.

The Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development is concerned with macro-level coverage of topics in the sociology and social psychology of language, in language and cultural politics, policy, planning and practice, and in all the many ramifications of these broad themes 8211; ethnicity and nationalism, multicultural and pluralist accommodations in heterogeneous societies, issues surrounding collective identity and its 8216;markers', the dynamics of minority groups, educational provisions for language and culture, endangered languages, language and group rights, and so on. Contributions that allow generalisation across settings are particularly welcome, as are those that embed the discussion in social and historical context. The Journal of Supercritical Fluids is an international journal devoted to the fundamental and applied aspects of supercritical fluids and processes. Its aim is to provide a focused platform for academic and industrial researchers to report their findings and to have ready access to the advances in this rapidly growing field. Luxury: History, Culture, Consumption is the first truly interdisciplinary, academic journal devoted to luxury, and satisfies the demand for scholarly, unbiased and penetrating thinking on the subject. The journal considers luxury in broad socio-cultural contexts, exploring and interrogating both our historical and contemporary understanding of the term.

Within the context of the contemporary global economic recession, our consumption of luxury is being questioned and indeed transformed, with notions of ‘affordable luxury’, ‘sustainable luxury’ and even ‘luxury for less’ suggesting a new discourse.  At the same time, the demand for luxury goods and services on a global scale is at an unprecedented level. Luxury examines all aspects of the subject: its historical formation and understanding, its contemporary global political and economic function, alongside an exploration of how the concept of luxury remains an impetus for design, popular culture, literature and fine art.

The journal publishes peer-reviewed papers from leading academics and commentators from a variety of disciplines providing an account of luxury that includes the historical, international, political and economic, alongside those directly concerned with the contemporary luxury industry. Each issue will demonstrate the breadth and interpretation of the term that its contemporary status demands and the contestation of luxury in the form of socio-political critique will generate challenging academic debate, establishing the journal as the leading forum for those interested in the field.

In recent years the Mediterranean has emerged not only as a region of intertwined populations, economies and politics, but also of shared basic foods and dietetic patterns, which have been shown to improve life expectancy and reduce cancer incidence. Meanwhile, pharmaconutrition is spreading in all the clinical fields and new clinical trials have been designed concerning antioxidants, nutrients and non-nutrients derived from vegetables (mainly but not only from the Mediterranean area) that could have a role in the complementary therapy of chronic diseases and cancer. Based on these premises, the Mediterranean Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism aims to publish original scientific papers (reviews, articles and case reports) on metabolism (diabesity and eating disorders), nutrition (epidemiological, basic, clinical and artificial), dietary and nutritional practices and management, and their impact on health from prevention to treatment. In accordance with the usual policy, the journal will also host the proceedings of relevant congresses and shorter notices focused on the original character of the Mediterranean nutritional civilisation. In addition, this journal is intended as a platform of scientific debate and knowledge-sharing among students and clinical practitioners, and between them and the broader scientific community, and last but not least as a tool for promoting and enhancing scientific cooperation.

The Forum for Social Economics, founded in 1971, is a high-quality peer-reviewed (double-blind), international academic journal sponsored by the Association for Social Economics (ASE). It is committed to the development of social economics as a values-based, complex and policy-oriented science in the service of the common good.

The Forum Editors invite the submission of stimulating, original and clearly-written academic research papers (7,500 words maximum) on:

a) The central socioeconomic problems of our age, such as the state of communities, economic and financial crises, institutional and technological change, poverty/inequality, terrorism, conflict and climate change as well as gender, class and ethnic issues; 

b) Alternative measures and perspectives of socioeconomic performance, social network analysis, agent-based modelling and complexity economics; including approaches that endogenize social facts, well-being, quality of life, standard of living, provisioning, ecological sustainability, trust, institutional functioning, happiness and/or human development;

c) Policy issues, with the emphasis on how governance and institutional innovations can enhance coordination, cooperation, performance, justice, equity and trust for the common good.

The Forum is especially interested in papers that are realistic in their outlook, pluralistic in their approach, concerned with interdependent agents and take account of the institutional and evolutionary nature of the economy.

Personal Relationships, first published in 1994, is an international, interdisciplinary journal that promotes scholarship in the field of personal relationships using a wide variety of methodologies and throughout a broad range of disciplines, including psychology, sociology, communication studies, anthropology, family studies, child development, social work, and gerontology. The subject matter and approach of Personal Relationships will be of interest to researchers, teachers, and practitioners. Manuscripts examining a wide range of personal relationships, including those between romantic or intimate partners, spouses, parents and children, siblings, classmates, coworkers, neighbors, and friends are welcome. Typically published work focuses on attributes of individual partners in personal relationships (e.g., personality factors or social positions as influences on relationship outcomes) at all stages of the life course, interactive relationship processes (i.e., behavioral, affective, or cognitive), the internal structure of dyads and networks, and relationships in social contexts (e.g., families, workplaces, historical periods, cultures). Physica A publishes research in the field of statistical mechanics and its applications.Statistical mechanics sets out to explain the behaviour of macroscopic systems by studying the statistical properties of their microscopic constituents. Bacteria, fungi, parasites, prions and viruses cause a plethora of diseases that have important medical, agricultural, and economic consequences. Moreover, the study of microbes continues to provide novel insights into such fundamental processes as the molecular basis of cellular and organismal function. PLoS Pathogens reflects the full breadth of research in these areas by publishing outstanding original articles that significantly advance the understanding of pathogens and how they interact with their host organisms. Topics include (but are not limited to) adaptive and innate immune defenses as well as pathogen countermeasures, emerging pathogens, evolution, genomics and gene regulation, model host organisms, pathogen-cell biology, pathogenesis, prions, proteomics and signal transduction, rational vaccine design, structural biology, and virulence factors.PLoS Pathogens will consider studies that provide fundamental new understanding of the pathogen or pathogenic mechanisms. The journal will not consider purely descriptive studies, such as those that solely identify a new genomic sequence of a related pathogen or a series of related pathogens, the isolation of pathogen variants, or a new strain or type based only on sequence analysis. Such studies, as well as correlative studies of host and pathogen genotypes, would be considered if they use further experiments to test an idea or validate a mechanistic model, or to provide a clear set of novel conclusions that derive from the data.

PRAGMATICS is a peer-reviewed publication. Reviewers are mainly, but not exclusively, members of the IPrA Consultation Board and members of the Editorial Board (see below).
