Plant, Cell and Environment

ISSN: 0140-7791eISSN: 1365-3040

Publishing only the best work, Plant, Cell & Environment publishes original research, either theoretical or experimental, that provides novel insights into the ways that plants respond to their environment. Thus the journal covers plant biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, cell physiology, whole plant physiology, crop physiology and physiological ecology, together with structural, genetic, pathological and meteorological aspects as related to plant function. Work at any scale, from the molecular to the community level, is welcomed. Author Benefits Ease of submission Submit your manuscript electronically through our simple online submission process No page charges Colour reproduction has become a vital part of data presentation in many areas of plant science, but remains costly in spite of new printing technologies. To aid authors in the presentation of colour images, we have decided to allow one colour figure free of charge. The colour must be essential to the presentation of the information, and decisions on this will be taken by the editors. Additional colour figures will be charged at the standard rate. A colour work agreement form, which details cost, must be included with all manuscripts containing colour and can be downloaded here. Rapid Publication By improving schedules and increasing the efficiency of operations, we are now able to publish papers Early View within an average of one month from the date of final acceptance, subject to the prompt return of proof corrections.

Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology

ISSN: 1747-0218eISSN: 1747-0226

Previously published in two sections, Human Experimental Psychology (Section A) and Comparative and Physiological Psychology (B) the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology merged in 2006 to form a single journal. The Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology is a leading international journal that publishes original articles on any topic within the field of experimental psychology. The journal publishes Rapid Communication articles (under 3,000 words) reporting novel techniques or ground breaking results, as well as substantial experimental reports. The journal offers an Open Access option, approved by the Wellcome Trust and other funders. The journal is keen to encourage submissions across a broad range of areas in experimental psychology, including those reporting work on human and animal subjects. Manuscripts including the use of functional brain imaging are also encouraged, as are papers reporting computational modelling of behavioural data.QJEP offers a competitive publication time-scale. Accepted Rapid Communications have priority in the publication, and usually appear in print within a few months. We aim to publish all accepted (but uncorrected) articles online within 7 days. Articles in their final form appear on-line, through the iFirst system, several months prior to paper publication.QJEP now offers an iOpenAccess option for authors. Peer Review IntegrityAll published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and refereeing by independent expert referees. Special IssuesIssues devoted to a particular topic are occasionally published in this journal. These special issues are sent free to subscribers in that year, and are available to purchase separately as books for non-subscribers. Regulatory Peptides

ISSN: 0167-0115

Regulatory Peptides provides a scientific medium for reviews, viewpoints, research articles and correspondence (in the form of Letters to the Editor) on the physiology/pathophysiology of peptides and proteins of the gut and endocrine- and nervous systems which regulate cell, tissue or organ function. Articles may be based on either basic or clinical science observations obtained in any of the fields of biochemistry, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, neuroscience, psychology and clinical medicine. Articles should strive to provide mechanistic explanations rather than merely be observational reports. Communications on comparative physiology research will be considered if novel mechanistic or translational aspects are included.Note: Reviews and Viewpoints may be submitted by invitation only, but authors may send proposals to the Editor-in-Chief for consideration.

Skin Pharmacology and Physiology

ISSN: 1660-5527eISSN: 1660-5535

In the past decade research into skin pharmacology has developed dramatically with new and promising drugs and therapeutic concepts being introduced regularly. Recent examples include immunosuppressive topicals, and new strategies in the therapy of malignant melanoma and wound healing. New concepts have also been developed in traditional areas of skin therapy and skin care which have led to discussions of issues such as ‘cosmeceuticals’ in the United States, ‘quasi-drugs’ in Japan, and the 6th Amendment of the Cosmetic Regulation in the European Union. There are many open questions which reflect the importance of the subject and the need for a new international scientific forum where they can be discussed in extenso. Dermatologists, pharmaceutical chemists, pharmacologists, toxicologists, and others interested in the subject are invited to contribute to this exciting project and to submit their best research work for publication.

Tree Physiology

ISSN: 0829-318XeISSN: 1758-4469

Tree Physiology publishes both technical reviews and original research reports on all aspects of physiology of trees, other woody species, and species of arborescent growth forms (a full list of topics can be found in our Instructions to Authors). Tree Physiology is a refereed journal distributed internationally.Tree Physiology was founded in 1986 by Alfred Burdett and Rozanne Poulson of Heron Publishing. Under their management, the journal grew in both size and reputation to become one of the top-ranking journals in the field. Oxford Journals will continue to build on this solid foundation and ensure wider dissemination and further development of Tree Physiology.Scope of the JournalTree Physiology promotes research in a framework of hierarchically organized systems, measuring insight by the ability to link adjacent layers: thus, investigated tree physiology phenomenon should seek mechanistic explanation in finer-scale phenomena as well as seek significance in larger scale phenomena (Passioura 1979). A phenomenon not linked downscale is merely descriptive; an observation not linked upscale, might be trivial. Physiologists often refer qualitatively to processes at finer or coarser scale than the scale of their observation, and studies formally directed at three, or even two adjacent scales are rare. To emphasize the importance of relating mechanisms to coarser scale function, Tree Physiology will highlight papers doing so particularly well as Feature Papers.Tree Physiology welcomes submissions of manuscripts on research of non-tree woody and arborescent species (shrubs, vines, tree ferns, palms, bamboo). It invites submissions on new methods designed to improve estimates of quantities of structural components and flux of matter, energy and information relevant to the structure and the function of these species.Tree Physiology also welcomes those manuscripts on genomics demonstrating a clear link and relevance to tree physiology.Authors who prepared short, hard-hitting manuscripts are encouraged to submit them as Tree Physiology Letters that will be fast tracked through the review process with the help of the Editorial Review Board.
