Journal Guide

Geometriae Dedicata concentrates on geometry and its relationship to topology, group theory and the theory of dynamical systems. It aims to be a vehicle for excellent publications in geometry and related areas. The journal features special issues centered on specific topics of interest. Geometriae Dedicata was founded in 1972 on the initiative of Hans Freudenthal in Utrecht, the Netherlands, who viewed geometry as a method rather than as a field. The present Board of Editors tries to continue in this spirit. The steady growth of the journal since its foundation is witness to the validity of the founder's vision and to the success of the Editors' mission.

Geospatial Health is the official journal of the Global Network of Geospatial Health (www.GnosisGIS.org) which was founded as the result at a Team Residency at the Rockefeller Foundation's Study and Conference Center Bellagio (Italy), April 10-14, 2000. The focus of the journal is on all aspects of the application of geographic information systems, remote sensing and other spatial analysis tools in human and veterinary health. For the first three years, there will be two issues per year. It will be published both printed as hard copy (ISSN 1827-1987) and on-line (ISSN 1970-7096).

German Studies Review (GSR) is the scholarly journal of the German Studies Association (GSA), the worlds largest academic association devoted to the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary study of the German-speaking countries. Recent issues have covered topics from Alexander von Humboldt and postcolonial theory to Krupp housing estates in the Ruhr valley to the popularity of German gangsta rap. A peer-reviewed journal, GSR includes articles and book reviews on the history, literature, culture, and politics of the German-speaking areas of Europe encompassing primarily, but not exclusively, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Chemical Industry is publishing papers in the field of chemical engineering, chemical technologies and chemistry by authors from the country and abroad. The journal is published bimonthly by the Association of Chemical Engineers (a member of EFCE - European Federation of Chemical Engineering). In addition to professional articles of importance to industry, scientific research papers are published, not only from our country but from all over the world. It also contains topics such as business news, science and technology news, information on new apparatus and equipment, and articles on environmental protection. A special issue of the Journal of Plastic and Rubber is also published.

The Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences (HJB) publishes empirical articles, multiple case study reports, critical reviews of literature, conceptual articles, reports of new instruments, and scholarly notes of theoretical or methodological interest to Hispanic populations. Distinguished multidisciplinary experts offer scholarly articles on the latest behavioral research, including cultural assimilation, communication barriers, intergroup relations, employment discrimination, substance abuse, family dynamics, and poverty.

HIV Medicine aims to provide an alternative outlet for publication of international research papers in the field of HIV Medicine, embracing clinical, pharmocological, epidemiological, ethical, preclinical and in vitro studies. In addition, the journal will commission reviews and other feature articles. It will focus on evidence-based medicine as the mainstay of successful management of HIV and AIDS. The journal is specifically aimed at researchers and clinicians with responsibility for treating HIV seropositive patients.

The IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits publishes papers each month in the broad area of solid-state circuits with particular emphasis on transistor-level design of integrated circuits. It also provides coverage of topics such as circuits modeling, technology, systems design, layout, and testing that relate directly to IC design. Integrated circuits and VLSI are of principal interest; material related to discrete circuit design is seldom published. Experimental verification is strongly encouraged.

The IEEE Journal on Multiscale and Multiphysics Computational Techniques publishes papers related to a broad range of electromagnetic engineering problems that rely on theoretical developments and computational techniques to solve problems spanning different physical properties or scales. Papers shall describe or use multiphysics or multiscale modeling in physics and electromagnetic engineering, including the calculation of system behavior on one scale using information or models derived from a different scale. Papers describing numerical inversion methods, parallel processing methods, high-order basis functions, and other advanced mathematical or numerical methods to perform multiphysics co-simulations for applied problems are published.

IEEE Magnetics Letters is a peer-reviewed, archival journal covering the physics and engineering of magnetism, magnetic materials, applied magnetics, design and application of magnetic devices, bio-magnetics, magneto-electronics, and spin electronics. IEEE Magnetics Letters publishes short, scholarly articles of substantial current interest.

IEEE Magnetics Letters is a hybrid Open Access (OA) journal. For a fee, authors have the option making their articles freely available to all, including non-subscribers. OA articles are identified as Open Access.

This area will define a research frontier that is advancing rapidly and will, by its very nature, bridge traditional disciplines. Nursing Open is a peer reviewed open access journal that welcomes articles on all aspects of nursing and midwifery practice, research, education and policy. We aim to publish articles that contribute to the art and science of nursing and which have a positive impact on health either locally, nationally, regionally or globally. As such the following qualities are essential in any article published by the journal: scientific credibility and rigour, and coherence and clarity in the writing. Contributions do not need to be novel as confirmatory and replication studies will be considered, however the article must present new findings, which could include the reporting of negative findings.

Nutrition Clinique et Métabolisme is the journal of the French-speaking Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition. Associating clinicians, biologists, pharmacists, and fundamentalists, the articles presented in the journal concern man and animals, and deal with organs and cells. The goal is a better understanding of the effects of artificial nutrition and human metabolism. Optimization Letters covers all aspects of optimization, including theory, algorithms, computational studies, and applications. Optimization has been expanding in all directions at an astonishing rate during the last few decades, and this journal provides an outlet for the rapid publication of short communications in the field. Optimization Letters features concise, short articles, limited to a total of ten journal pages. Palaeontographica publishes peer reviewed contributions to paleozoology and paleobotany. Founded in 1846, it is one of the oldest scholarly journals in paleobiology. Its editors include a large number of landmark paleontologists (see history). Its claim to fame were and still arelarge format, high quality plates and careful descriptions and interpretations of source materials of paleontological research.From 1846 to 1933 paleozoological and paleobotanical papers were published side by side journal. In 1933, the paleobotanical papers were branched off into a separate journal, Palaeontographica Abt. B. The title of the paleozoology part of Paleontographica was correspondingly renamed to Palaeontographica Abt. A (Paleozoology) at the same time.
