Biomedical and Environmental Sciences (BES) is an international English scientific periodical jointly established by Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and the Coulston International Corporation (CIC), USA in 1988, which is published bimonthly and distributed both in China and abroad. The editorial office is based in the headquarters of China CDC.BES publishes research papers submitted from China and other countries in the areas of biomedical and environmental sciences, which cover public health virology, microbiology, epidemiology, parasitology, nutrition, toxicology, pharmacology, environmental health, chemistry, biological and toxicological effects of hazardous substances including environmental pollutants, food additives, pesticides and industrial chemicals as well as methodological research, including chemical, biochemical, pathological and immunological methods. Experimental studies on natural and synthetic pollutants of the distribution, metabolic characteristics, and their impact on human health are also included. Women and Birth publishes on all matters that affect women and birth, from pre-conceptual counselling, through pregnancy, birth, and the first six weeks postnatal. All papers accepted will draw from and contribute to the relevant contemporary research, policy and/or theoretical literature. We seek research papers, quality assurances papers (with ethical approval) discussion papers, clinical practice papers, case studies and original literature reviews.Our women-centred focus is inclusive of the foetus and the newborn, both well and ill, and covers both normal and abnormal pregnancies and births. The journal seeks papers on midwifery practice, theory, research, education and leadership. Topics may include where appropriate neonatal nursing, child and family health, women's health and lactation consultancy. Papers from academics and health professionals from fields outside of midwifery are encouraged. Plant Biosystems is the research journal edited by the Societa Botanica Italiana. Published three times a year, the journal is open to papers dealing with all aspects of plant biology, systematics, and ecology. Research studies containing novel and significant findings, from the molecular level to ecosystems and from micro-organisms to flowering plants, are welcome. Plant Biosystems succeeded 'Giornale Botanico Italiano', the historical journal of the Societa Botanica Italiana, from the year 1997. Plant Biosystems has been conceived in consideration of the recent progress in botanical research. An editorial board has been devised to ensure that all the main trends of contemporary plant science are represented. Manuscripts are classified as 'Full Paper', 'Rapid Report' or 'Short Communication'. A Rapid Report is intended for publication, in a concise form, of new and relevant findings. Contemporary Jewry serves as the single source for the social scientific consideration of world Jewry, its institutions, trends, character, and concerns. In its pages can be found work by leading scholars and important new researchers from North America, Europe, Australasia and Israel. While much relevant scholarship about Jewry is published in general social science journals, as well as more narrowly focused periodicals, no single scholarly journal focuses primarily on the social scientific study of Jewry.Over 500 articles have been published in Contemporary Jewry since its inception. Each issue includes original research articles across a variety of social-science disciplines, including anthropology, demography, economics, education, ethnography, social history, politics, population, social psychology, and sociology.  We are open to submissions of shorter research notes, and, on occasion, will publish important work that had originally appeared in Hebrew or other languages. Increasing demand for professionals for the languages services industry and other areas of intercultural communication and the concomitant proliferation of training programmes have given rise to widespread concern for and reflection on how translator and interpreter education and training can best be conceived and the necessary skills and knowledge to be acquired. This is the first journal in the field of translation studies to devote its attention entirely to research in education and training. ITT is a refereed international journal that seeks to address issues relating to the education and training of professional translators and interpreters, and of those working in other forms of interlingual and intercultural mediation. Scandinavian Actuarial Journal is a journal for actuarial sciences that deals, in theory and application, with mathematical methods for insurance and related matters. The bounds of actuarial mathematics are determined by the area of application rather than by uniformity of methods and techniques. Therefore, a paper of interest to Scandinavian Actuarial Journal may have its theoretical basis in probability theory, statistics, operations research, numerical analysis, computer science, demography, mathematical economics, or any other area of applied mathematics; the main criterion is that the paper should be of specific relevance to actuarial applications. It is the hope of the editors that the journal can promote progress in the development of actuarial methodology and the proliferation of established methods in practical actuarial work. A special workshop section is intended to stimulate cooperative efforts between practitioners and theoreticians to solve real-life actuarial problems. The workshop will be open for papers at any level of theoretical preparation, from mere descriptions of practical problems with pleas for help, via discussions and tentative solutions, to complete theoretical treatment of these problems. Pastoral Psychology is an international interdisciplinary forum for the publication of peer-reviewed original papers that discuss the work of caring for, understanding, and exploring human beings as persons, in families, in small groups, and in community. The journal brings the best of psychological, behavioral, social, and human sciences research into critical engagement with pastoral concerns (local, institutional, societal, political, international, and other). The journal thoughtfully examines and discusses pastoral care and counseling, pastoral theology, psychology of religion, and the multidimensional interface between psychology and religion/spirituality.
