Natural Resources Research (NRR) is one of three journals sponsored by the International Association for Mathematical Geology (IAMG) and is co-sponsored by the Energy Mineral Division of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG/EMD). NRR publishes quantitative geoscientific studies reporting on the search for and development of natural resources, including their associated environmental, economical, and risk-related aspects. The Electricity Journal is the leading policy journal for the U.S. electric power industry. The Journal began publishing in July 1988. It was created because its founding editor and publisher, Robert Marritz, then a utility lawyer in private practice, was convinced that the electricity industry was moving on a fundamentally different track from the one it had traveled for most of the 20th century. He felt that electric utilities had lost the bedrock confidence of the public, largely as a result of their unsuccessful gamble with nuclear power. During this time, a small but growing industry of alternative suppliers generating power from natural gas-fired co-generation and renewable energy plants (wind power, biomass, hydro and solar), spurred by Congress's passage in 1978 of the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act, were finding markets for their power. These alternative suppliers formed the vanguard of what has now proved to be a highly competitive business: selling power in large quantities at the wholesale level (for resale to end users).The Journal is now the principal print venue for those who are, with their ideas, forging the new shape and design of the electricity/energy industry. The journal “ Webbia ” was founded in 1905 in Florence by Ugolino Martelli (1860-1934), a botanist well known for his studies of and contributions to the systematics of the tropical genus Pandanus and our knowledge of the Flora of Sardinia.In the XIX century Florence represented one of the most important European centres in Systematics and Phytogeography with several notable Italian botanists worth mentioning such as Filippo Parlatore, Teodoro Caruel, Eugenio Baroni, Stefano Sommier, Odoardo Beccari and Ugolino Martelli himself. Since 1842 Florence has been become the place where one of the most important herbaria of the world, was created: the Herbarium Centrale Italicum (FI). The herbarium was established by Filippo Parlatore (1816-1877), and most of the specimens described and/or cited in Webbia are still kept in it.In 1905, and as a consequence of this multitude of activities in Plant Systematics and Phytogeography, Ugolino Martelli established the journal Webbia - Raccolta di Scritti Botanici, firstly published annually in a single issue, and later twice a year.Webbia had been created in honor of Philip Barker Webb (1793-1845), a deep friend of Filippo Parlatore, who before passing away entrusted his personal herbarium and a library rich of old botanical books and publications to the Botanical Museum in Florence.Between 1905 and 1923 Webbia was irregularly published in 5 volumes of 7 issues and its publication stopped after the death its first developers, U. Martelli and O. Beccari. Only after the Second World war, in 1948, under the auspice of the biogeographer Giovanni Negri, and with the renewal of the interest in Plant Systematics and Phytogeography in Italy, as well as in the Mediterranean and African areas as well, Webbia was revived beginning from the volume 6 up to current issues.Soon, Webbia acquired an international role so as to be considered one of the most important and relevant Italian botanical journals. .
Applied Thermal Engineering publishes original, high-quality research papers and ancillary features, spanning activities ranging from fundamental research to trouble-shooting in existing plant and equipment.Component and system design covers energy use both in the process and power industries, and in buildings, including passive thermal design techniques. For the former, the design problems associated with the integration of components into overall plant are also covered. Additionally, the reduction of water use and pollution prevention are of interest.The journal features aspects of the thermal engineering of advanced processes, including process integration, intensification and development, together with the application of thermal equipment in process plants. The optimisation of processes to maximise performance is also included.A wide range of equipment is relevant to Applied Thermal Engineering, such as heat exchangers (compact and advanced designs), heat pumps and refrigeration plant, heat pipes, combined heat and power and advanced cycles, polygeneration, heat transfer enhancement as applied to the above, and other unit operations involving thermal engineering procedures, including those related to renewable sources.The application of thermal engineering is becoming critical in specific areas such as aerospace, electronics thermal management and medicine, as well as equipment used by the armed forces. Papers on such challenging applications are often a springboard for technology transfer to other areas, and are encouraged. Short communications in the form of 'Case Studies' will be considered.A theme running through many papers will be energy. Energy conservation, including heat recovery, the rational use of energy and renewable energy technologies are inevitable features of thermal engineering across all applications. Critique: Journal of Socialist Theory is an independent, refereed, scholarly journal founded in 1973. It attempts to analyse contemporary society from a critical Marxist perspective. Critique takes the view that Marxism has been so degraded by the Stalinist period that much of what has passed for Marxism has ranged between incoherent nonsense and empty if complex scholastic schema. Since socialism in one country is a theoretical and practical impossibility, Critique rejected and continues to reject analyses purporting to show this or that country is or was socialist. Furthermore, Critique emphatically insists on the impossibility of an undemocratic socialism.The aim of Critique is to take part in the restoration of the earlier pre-eminence of Marxist thought by encouraging discussion around the political economy of contemporary capitalist and non-capitalist societies. For this purpose, it regards debate around methodology and as a consequence philosophy to be essential. The Origins of Critique:Critique was founded in May 1973 following its first conference in London, at which some 500 people attended. In the initial editorial it declared that its aim was to analyse Stalinism based on the empirical reality, while rejecting an empiricist approach. It sought to discover the laws of motion applying to Stalinism. It rejected the imposition of schema on the analysis, usual both on the left and right. The journal became associated with a new school of thought critical of Stalinism and the Soviet Union, which argued that the USSR was neither actually nor potentially a mode of production. Articles made it clear that it could not last and that the market would be imposed but that it would fail. The theory has been amply borne out by events.In the second issue the editorial made clear "that we will follow the logic of our enterprise and publish articles on wider aspects of socialist theory, such as problems of the transitional period, the socialist mode of production etc." Debates on the decline of capitalism and the importance of Stalinism for capitalism led to contemporary discussions showing the greater instability of capitalism without the Cold War, the USSR and Stalinist parties. The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (sections 8.2.1.C & 8.2.2.A). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. The submission of papers on novel measurements, phases, phenomena, and new types of material is encouraged. Part A (Materials Science) carries papers where, in general, the phenomena and interpretation are on a microscopic or atomic scale, for example physical, mechanical and defect-related properties studied by techniques such as electron microscopy, indentation, differential scanning calorimetry and infrared spectroscopy. Part B (Condensed Matter Physics) carries papers where, in general, the phenomena and interpretation are on an electronic scale, for example optical and electrical properties studied by techniques such as electrical conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, nuclear magnetic resonance and photoemission spectroscopy. Researchers in these fields are invited to submit their papers.Radiation Effects and Defects in Solids publishes experimental and theoretical papers of both a fundamental and applied nature that contribute to the understanding of defects and phenomena induced by the interaction of all types of radiation with condensed matter. The range of contributions encompasses: radiation physics; radiochemistry; radiobiology and physical effects of medical irradiation, including research on radiative cell degeneration; optical, electrical and mechanical effects of radiation; and their secondary effects such as diffusion and particle emission from surfaces; plasma techniques and plasma phenomena. Das Wirtschafts- und Sozialstatistische Archiv ist eine Zeitschrift der Deutschen Statistischen Gesellschaft. Sie versteht sich als zentrales deutschsprachiges Organ für die Publikation wirtschafts- und sozialstatistischer Arbeiten. Diese behandeln substantielle Fragestellungen der Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften mit einer Methodik, die Konzepte der klassischen Wirtschaftsstatistik mit modernen mathematisch geprägten statistischen Ansätzen verbindet. Publiziert werden methodisch fundierte, problem-orientierte Arbeiten. Im Vordergrund stehen Themen, die für eine breitere wissenschaftliche und auch außerwissenschaftliche Öffentlichkeit von Interesse sind. Nicht das mathematische Niveau ist für die Qualität einer Arbeit ausschlaggebend, sondern Originalität, substanzwissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisgewinn sowie die ökonomische oder gesellschaftswissenschaftliche Relevanz. Dies setzt nicht zwingend einen hohen Grad mathematischer Abstraktion voraus. Andererseits kann eine konkrete praktische Fragestellung schnell auf ein vergleichsweise hohes mathematisches Niveau führen. Besonderer Wert wird auf die Lesbarkeit der publizierten Beiträge gelegt. Das Wirtschafts- und Sozialstatistische Archiv will die Lücke schließen zwischen der Vielzahl rein methodisch orientierter meist englischsprachiger statistischer Fachzeitschriften und der allgemeinen deutschsprachigen Presse, insbesondere der Wirtschaftspresse. Publiziert werden Aufsätze,
• die statistische Probleme aus dem Bereich von Volks- und Betriebswirtschaftslehre, insbesondere der Finanzwirtschaft, sowie aus dem Bereich der Sozialwissenschaften behandeln,
• die wissenschaftliche Analysen von wirtschafts-, sozial- und bevölkerungsstatistischen Problemen liefern,
• in denen politische, institutionelle oder organisatorische Aspekte oder Qualitätsstandards der öffentlichen Statistik erörtert werden,

• die einen Überblick bieten über den Forschungsstand in Teilgebieten der Statistik,
• die offene Fragen der statistisch-methodischen Forschung aufwerfen.
Ziel des Wirtschafts- und Sozialstatistischen Archivs ist es, ein wissenschaftliches Forum zu schaffen, das der gewachsenen gesellschaftlichen und politischen Bedeutung der Statistik angemessen Ausdruck verleiht.

The Journal of Applied Communication Research publishes original scholarship that addresses or challenges the relation between theory and practice in understanding communication in applied contexts. JACR aims primarily to contribute to how people practice communication across multiple contexts. All theoretical and methodological approaches are welcome, as are all contextual areas. Of utmost importance is that an applied communication problem or issue is the motivation for the research. Submissions should be based securely in existing understandings of communication processes, informed by relevant theory, and should substantively advance our understanding of communication in practical settings. Of particular interest are studies that focus on contemporary social issues. Authors are encouraged to clearly and explicitly identify and describe the communication problem or issue early in the manuscript. Also welcome are reviews of recently published books, reports, or monographs relevant to applied communication and reviews of communication interventions or resources (particularly software and internet-based resources). Reviews should be 1,000-1,500 words in length.
